We must be able to discern whether it is the devil or is it The Holy Spirit?

The devil will convict you over who you used to be and what you used to do. He will trouble you over things that cannot be changed from your past.

The Holy Spirit will convict you with regard to right now! Who are you right now? Are you doing things that the Lord is asking you to stop doing? Believe Him!

Ephesians 4:17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. 20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. 21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

In His Love,

Suzanne

John 16:8

And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Titus 1:9

holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

Jude 1:15

to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."

We must remember:

2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

In His Love,

Only the Holy Spirit convicts from a scriptural perspective. His conviction brings one to repentence and, hopefully, godly sorrow will follow. The result is a life restored and made alive. Conviction brings confession and results in peace.

The devil, however, only condemns. Comdemnation brings oppression and a joyless state of bondage.

Conviction brings hope. Condemnation breeds hopelessness.

Conviction restores us to our First Love. Condemnation causes us to hide from Him.

There is a marked difference in how these two spiritual "moves" effects us. One is life affirming while the other is death affirming. If we feel confused and oppressed, then we can be sure the devil is involved.

But God will hear our cry and save us. Jesus came to destoy the works of darkness and give us light. Conviction leads us to the light while condemnation keeps us in the darkness. So let us cast off the works of darkness and embrace the light!

If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us. Then we have peace with God.

WHICH DIRECTION

From God

Draws To Christ

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 15:26

With Love Unfeigned

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Jeremiah 31:3

Pride Crushing Love

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

From Evil

Draws Away From Christ

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
John 2:16

With Lies Of Hate

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
John 8:44

:)

So Taste

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Psalms 34:8

And Test

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 John 4:1

The Spirit Of Truth

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:7

And Come

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Revelation 22:17

And See And Believe

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:14-16

And Be Blessed Beloved

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27

damo1 :th_praying::noidea:

high tsth

i would have to agree with Greg Davies and brother Joe as why i am saying this i read what you said i have the scripture passages you left in your post marked down and i hope i am able to share with out being corrected

when i was in jail for me second stint and reading the old kings James bible while serving on a prison farm in tumbraraumbra which is a small farming community near cooma

this passage which i have highlighted in my own bible i new it was the holy spirit convicting me as if it was the devil as you said i would still to this day be working in kings cross working in the strip clubs and dealing in drugs and using heroin and speed as right to the last min as i new i had a month to serve and would be free to do as i please i kept on thinking of the people i new in the strip clubs and the girls i had gotten to know very well as one missed me and would write and say hello and see how i was

i kept getting this strong taste of heroin as i had been clean for 8 months and my time was nearly up

when i came across this passage in mark 2 verse 17 new spirit filled life bible

when Jesus heard it he said to them those who are well have no need of a physician but those who are sick i did not come to call the righteous but the sinners to repentance

this verse grabbed hold of me to the point wear i felt my self being drawn to every single word that Christ had said in mark and then i heard this small voice saying Jesus loves you find a church Jesus loves you find a church

this as i said only started to happen with in the month i had left to serve of my sentence i read the old kings James bible twice tsth while i was serving out my time on the prison farm and it was in the kitchen crew wear i was able to have the time to read my bible as the kitchen crew wear a bit more free than than those working in the bush gang or looking after the sheep

i thought at first it was the body reacting to me not having heroin with in my system for some time and at the last moment the brain began to think of the times i did have the freedom to shot this up in my own room but the inner small voice kept on coming back and saying Jesus loves you find a church this happened when i was serving the meals or when i was washing the dishes or playing foot ball on the field on Saturdays

it got me scared tsth as i never had this happen to me and why on the last month of my sentence did i start to hear this when i got out and served my time i met some one who was with the salvation army and this female friend took me to oconner unitting church and then i met Edwin and Victoria of Conner uniting church who took me into their home to live with them who became my spiritual mentors and i was to learn it was gods spirit trying to stop me from destroying my life and going back to kings cross and working in those strip clubs as honestly tsth i wanted that first shot of heroin i have not been with a female for a while and my female friend who was writing to me was weighting for me but guess what i did not turn up to kings cross as i said i would to my female friend

instead i was down the front of a church saying the sinners prayer in front of strangers who i did not know two lovely people who i never new welcomed me into gods family i was only 18yrs old and they took me into their home the husband bought me new clothes he spent over $500 Australian dollars on me

i was given a new bible and i was told their home is my home so they told me to make my self comfortable and to this day this couple have been like a mother and father to me

so how can Satan convict some one as i know it was gods holy spirit convicting me

and it is the holy spirit that can only convict a person not the enemy even though it says he can do this and manipulate people well if it was Satan as you are saying that convicts people boy he must have looked like the fool when the holy spirit was convicting me in jail and then me saying the sinners prayer

so no it is gods holy spirit that does the convicting and you have some willing to open up to you like this in cyber space so every one else can read it

thank you tsth i found what you shared hear very interesting

bless you from your brother in the lord Damien

Dear damo,

I'm afraid that maybe you misunderstood my post, or I'm misunderstanding yours. What I'm getting at, is people who are willingly walking in rebellion to God, and their lives are still of the world and they are feeling troubled over it and can't figure out why, but other people will come along side them and tell them not to worry about how they feel, because it is the devil causing them doubt. When in fact, it IS God's Holy Spirit, dealing with them.

I have seen many times where someone is in a deluded state of thinking that they are born again, when in fact they have not come to the place of repentance, and being yielded to Jesus as their Lord. There are many cases where the Spirit of the Lord will be dealing with someone about current things in their lives, and they will feel troubled over it, and then another good-intentioned person will come along side and tell them to dismiss those feelings as they are from the devil. The point I was making is that the devill will trouble you over things in your past, that you cannot change, whereas the Lord God will deal with the present, and who you are "right now"!

With the new doctrine of "never doubting your salvation", there is not much room for any blindmen to see the light of Jesus, but to remain in deceptions...rather than accepting truth with regard to the Power of Jesus to deliver us from sin.

My Bible says to examine ourselves to "see if we are truly in the faith"!

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?

(If it helps, I do believe the terminology should have been as Greg stated, but either way, condemn OR convict, they both will trouble us for a time.)

I fear that we can do much damage by assuring someone else of their salvation, when in fact, we do not know the heart. We are quick not to testify to them in regard to hell, but we rush to assure them of heaven, when in fact, we do not know. We can only go by the fruit that is born. So, why are we assuring someone of being a good vineyard, when the basket bears rotten fruit? We do them no favors by this.

In His Love,

Suzanne

damo1

to tsth

well by the way you stated what you left for me i did hear you and that is why i put what i stated as i also had to repent of hiding behind scripture passages as i use to let the passages in the living word of god do the talking for me and i am not alone in this as i have met others hear wear i live who have also shared to me on the point i made and if we are to say as you are suggesting then one also needs to ask the holy spirit to search our hearts to see if we are just hiding by our scripture passages

i mean i could have just hidden by the passages i have highlighted in my bible and stuck with it because its nice but when i apply to a topic or i read something i go over it twice and your topic is saying who is convicting you and i stated who convicted me when i was just about to be let free only having a month to go

Satan brings condemnation Christ sets us free Satan Will always be their reminding us of our past mistakes while Christ Will be directing us to walk in the freedom we all have and is given to us

i mean if by what you are saying then if i am to say look at who was convicting me while serving time i can say 100% it was the holy spirit

as i said i wanted to have my first shot of heroin i wanted to be back in the strip clubs i was i wanted to even be with my female friend but i was led to a church in Canberra instead

if by what you are saying can i ask why are you worried about this ? as it should be up to god or the holy spirit to pull those people up that are as you say deluded can i ask you how sure are you when it comes to your conviction and can you be 100% sure it was the holy spirit ? convicting you as it sounds like to me that we are going to have to even question the new beliver just to make sure

we had to let go of a female in our church she has been hear for 7yrs the old pastor use to allow her to get away with blue murder in those 7yrs while the old pastor was pastoring the church 12 talented family's walked out every single new person that gave their heart to the lord encountered this female and when they fronted the old pastor and told him they feel unsafe around her he did not do a thing

about a month a go we had to tell her enough is enough a female high school teacher was coming to my church with in two weeks she gave her heart to the lord and this person tried the same thing as with the old pastor but threatened my friend in town my friend rang me i got on to my new pastor and i pushed him until he was able to see it from my way and not just from my way but also several others opened up

this person was rude she swore while in worship drew attention to her self threw Communion any new person who would came in and see what our church was like she would play the victim or when the pastors wear not in church and just the leaders running the Sunday morning service she would openly say things i am not going to repeat hear

if you are going to go by your scripture passages i would also go by Jesus example not once do you see in the bible wear Jesus would worry about a person or you would hear of Jesus chasing after some one if they fell to the way side as Jesus new him self not many will be able to walk the path him self is walking on or his disciples or the apostles

we told this female that has been with the church for 7yrs enough is enough if you Will not let Christ deal with you if you Will not let Christ heal you and if you are not wiling to invite him into your life then we ask that you do not come back no more when we said this she said Satan sent me hear to destroy what ever god wants to do in this church and swore at everyone in the church even in front of a new Christian

i don't feel bad my pastor does not feel bad because we went to the source of gods word

yes we are to examine our selves on a daily basis and we are to be real as when when it comes to doing this i am sorry for being frank i am a male and its just the way i am when it comes to gods word and what he has done in my life i do not like to hide behind scripture passages and just play with it because it sounds nice

can i ask you a question if you believe by what you are saying in hear do you also believe then that we are accountable for what we say while we are alive on this earth ?

the reason i am saying this is this

when a new Christian gives their life to god do we allow them to have that innocence or do we kill that teachable spirit that joy and that peace because of our bad experiences we have had ?

we are going to be held accountable for the spiritual babies born into the family of god around our altars and in our churches or do we because we are settled and more wise say thats nice leave this to god and get on with life ?

when i apply or share i am being care full that no one is miss led

then by what you are saying we can do much damage by assuring some one else their salvation when in fact we do not know the heart what right do we as older Christians have to judge a persons state or heart this is giving in to the devil when i hear something like this and also questioning ones own faith also

as only god knows the persons heart and its only the holy spirit that can bring in conviction i mean the holy spirit speaks threw us and in some situations like the one i was in he allows the person to hear an inner Small voice like i did by saying Jesus loves you find a church

so i do understand and heard you right in the topic you placed on who is convicting you that is why i said what i said other wise i would not have put down anything

thanks but i heard you and i am sticking by what i have said and what the bible says when it comes to people like the female i told you about in my church hear

let god be god we have no right to judge the state of a person or their heart

if you are going to say i fear we can do much damage look at the damage that is being done in some of these new topics ? how would this show a new Christian what worthy is like ?

i mean i had some one telling me my experience was not a real experience and that every single translation printed today is wrong and that we all should stick with the kings James bible i read from the new spirit filled bible and the new international open study bible i bought my 11 yr old son the youth version to tne new InternationaL version i have

so damage has already been done by some of these new topics and that is my main concern as well if you are going to go by what you left we need to be care full how we also approach topics that way we are not a stumbling block to no one

thanks tsth i am not correcting you but just having my say on this i hear you i respect you for what you are saying and i also hope you can hear what i am saying and respect me with out thinking i am attacking you

we are two different people and i always stay in the centerer and go to the source and that is gods living word

god bless from damo

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
