A trifecta is actually a horse racing term for picking the winners in order of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. A trifecta always has a positive conclusion, or an upbeat result, when used in slang. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trifecta "Trifecta" as a slang term to describe any successful or favorable phenomenon or characteristic that comes in threes, for example: "She has the 'trifecta' of attractiveness, intelligence, and career success."
