BTW, the only ones getting rude and defensive are the ones opposing the OP. Think about it.

so you are saying that calling someone a "schoolyard bully " is not being rude :o

"yada yada"

Oh my goodness! :o Talk about biased! You are apparently reading the thread with blinders on! Do you not see the sarcasm, ridiculing and laughing at people?????

Also, I did not outright call her a schoolyard bully. I advised this person to stop acting like one before posting further!

Shalom,

Back to TOPIC.....

Could ONE of you that oppose the OP please give me BIBLICAL support for CHOOSING to lie to your children by telling them that Santa is real?

Can you support that choice by the Scriptures?

Can you answer WHY it is OK to CHOOSE to lie (willfully sin) by lying when the Scriptures condemn it?

And please don't give me man's reasons. We need to see a valid addressing of the Scriptures not to lie and why that is OK to disregard for telling kids Santa is real.

meh- when everything is said and done, our kids are still going to get gifts from santa under the christmas tree. Ridicule, admonish, call me a bad parent- I really don't care. To me, I can't see the whole Santa fantasy ever getting out of hand, so it's not an issue. If it became an issue, and I was directed by the LORD to do so, then I would talk with my children about IMAGINATION.

:o

God bless!

Shalom Sierra,

No one is calling you anything, no one is ridiculing, so please don't play that card.

The point is though... you ARE being directed by the L-rd not to lie and it IS an issue - an issue of willfully choosing sin over G-d..

To Christians:

How can A Christian justify ignoring Scripture and say they can CHOOSE to lie to your children when G-d says it's a sin? What other sins are OK to do? Adultery? Murder? Stealing?

Why is it OK to CHOOSE to lie about Santa being real, when lying is a sin? Why is it NOT OK to lie according to the Scriptures? Why is there a clear defiance of G-d's Word in favor of a make-believe character? Why are you choosing Santa over G-d? Because it's "fun"?

This is what I need for you all to explain to me. It's not a matter of conviction, it's a matter of clear Scriptural mandate.

Colossians 3:

9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

Can you show me how it is right for a Christian to knowingly, willfully sin?

It's one thing to say, "well, before we knew better we did...", but it's ANOTHER thing to say, "I'm going to do it anyway, even though the Bible says not to."

James 4: 17

So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Shalom,

1 John 3:

4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.

Shalom,

Romans 6

15What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?

In response to Vickilynn's posts: This is what people need to examine! I hear so many 'wordly' arguments out there! People need to examine, is the reasoning biblical, or totally of the world? Dont go by the reasoning that 'seems to make more sense' or what experience supports. Nothing should trump God's word!

Shalom Emily Anne,

Amen,. this is the issue. The OP stated it and re-stated it and there is no excuse, justification or rationalization for willfully sinning by lying. We, as Christians MUST choose G-d , not sin.

Actually I wasn't directing my statement at anyone VickiLynn.

This is my personal decision and you have no right (along with anyone else here on WB) to tell me what the Lord is directing me to do. That is between Jesus and I, and frankly I find it "holier than thou" (oh yes, I said it) for you to assume it is appropriate for you to make such statements.

Shame on me? No, shame on you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
