Matthew517 do you prophesy sometimes, if this is so, you can look at Acts, and see they either prophecied, or spoke in different tongues, when the people got immersed in God's The Ba(Father's) Spirit. Do you remember the washing, and renewing of The Holy Spirit which is spoken of in N.T.. This can happen, if you have faith, and let God move in your life.

I would have to say that the gifts can be used by all. What I mean is if the Lord needs someone to speak a word in the prophetic He will use someone whose major gifting lies elsewhere until one who walks in the gifting comes. Here is an example I was in a congregation and started to walk in the gift of prophecy. A brother who was used to give words stopped giving them. A few months went by and I was driving this brother home. He told me that he wanted to get something off his chest. He told me that he had a resentment towards me and he needed to bring it to my attention and ask forgiveness. I was unaware of resentment. He told me how he used to prophecy and how the day that I first spoke out his gifting stopped. He felt abandoned by the Lord. He sought the Lord about it and he was told that he was allowed to walk in that gift until one who walked in the full gifting arrived. I started in that gifting the moment I was baptized. So I believe that the gift of tongues is much like that that those who walk in its fullness use it and when one that does not can be used if needed by the Lord. The same goes for healing and the rest of the gifts. A biblical example for this is John the baptist. He said " 3:27 "A man can receive only what is given him from heaven. 28 You yourselves can testify that I said, `I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him.' 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. 30 He must become greater; I must become less."

From the day Yeshua started to walk in His ministry John's was ending. Elijah and Elisha is another biblical example. One who walked fully in the gift was departing so that another who would walk more in fullness would begin.

Prophesying is another way of seeing someone has received an immersion in The Spirit of Christ, as is shown in Acts. Remember to pray to God for the gifts of The Holy Spirit, if you have a pure heart, people need people who can do this, so God knows there is a need, so He will let you operate in the gifting more, if you are obedient to God, and Jesus Christ our Lord. Remember the scripture which says, According to your faith so be it unto you. If you have faith, you will....You will have faith, and God will grant you more of His wonderful Gifts so all may be blessed, and edified, and come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Having Christ manifested in their hearts through faith. Praise be to God. Let us worship His majesty together, in spirit, and truth. Glory to God. Worship, and praise to the Lamb that was slain, He was dead, now is alive forevermore.

differant Gifts,

Same Spirit.....

the Spirit may not give a person the Gift of Tongues, but may give the gift of Prophecy.... or Healing or one of the others,

and the Spirit may also take away a Gift if misused, or abused, maybe even if not used, or if a person becomes too prideful, ( such as exhalting ones self with the gift rather then the Lord God ).....

when it be comes " I have the gift of ..... " " I am more filled then you because I have the gift of ...... " " If only you had the Gift of ..... as I do you could do .... "

we do not want to be disruptive with the Gifts, for that can cause confussion...

if you have a message in tongues, and there is no one to interpret it, then it is best to remain silent or interpret it yourself.... there have been times when a person would actually interupt the service to give a message, interupt the teaching, interupt other aspects of the service, this can add to confussion, we are to wait until the Spirit guides us to share, and the Spirit will provide the oportunity....

I know of people that have received a message to share ( either in tongues or prophecy, and there was no oportunity to share..... at that time or service, so they wrote it down instead and shared it that wa y....

there are times that there may not seem to be an interpretation to a message in tongues, ( may not seem to be ) but that message may be a message for one peticular individual, and that person will have the understanding of the message....

we have to be careful about saying something is not of the Spirit of God, or from God...... and we have to ensure the Honor, and the Glory is given to God......

I don't know about the gifts being taken away. I can see where they could be turned off like one turning off the flow or water. But the source will always remain. Since our God promised us

yea, kind of like the man and woman driving down the road....

he is driving and she is sitting in the far right passanger seat of the bench seat of the car, and as they are going down the road, she comments that she wish that they could sit like they use to..... His reply is that they can, but it was not he that moved, for he was driving the car then and driving the car now, it was her that chose to move.....

that is like us with God, it is not God that moved away from us, rather, it is us that moved away from God.... God is still where He always has been, and always will be, it is us that has departed from Gods company.... and it is up to us to make that step to return to Gods company....

God calls to us to return many times, like a mother hen, her chicks stray from her, and if she spent all her energy trying to chase each of them down and bring them back to the huddle, she would have no time to eat, drink or rest.... so she calls them... and when they start coming back she encourages them.....

like a mother, watching her child play in the yard...... the child strays, and the mother calls.... if the mother starts running after the child, the child runs faster and further away..... so the mother calls.......

God is calling us to return... and when we get lost and finally find our way back it is such a relief that we do not want to leave His arms for a very long time.... and then of course, we do finally start walking on our own again, and well, guess what, we begin to stray again.....

several years ago, i took a car, overloaded with children to go see the Power Team, there was Rikki, Michael, Leanne, Christian, Billy, and Chelsea, Christian and Rikki gave their hearts to the Lord that day..... and were also baptised....

after every thing was done, we could not locate Rikki, she strayed from the group.... there were many many people that we knew that were there..... so we had quite a few looking for her...... Rikki is not very affectionate...... after quite some time, trying to locate her, we finally crossed paths..... and Rikki was so over joyed that she ran ( yes, RAN ) and started hugging everyone in the group.....

myself, i was even more overjoyed, cause I was responsible for the children, I almost could not stand up when the relief came over me from the stress.....

if my love for those children is that much, that I am worried sick about one of them straying from the group...... how much more is the Love of God for us, when one of us strays from the Family?????

can you just imagine how God must feel when one of His children is found? when one returns home????? there are not words for what i felt when I seen Rikki across the room when we both entered it from opposite sides.... there is no way i can explain the feelings i had..... our language lacks in so many things....

if i felt that way towards a child of a friend of mine, how much more do i feel that for my own children??? MUCH MORE.... for that is just a single example, i could tell you of many like this........

May this day be a day of many blessings for you..... may God Bless each of you in ways that you can not even share for the words are not there......

To the men, if ...you have faith, you will...follow Jesus, that means do the works He did, and greater works, there is only a limit on someone who does not walk in faith working by love, that is the time the limit is known. ...If you have faith you will... walk like Paul who follows Christ, and He prayed in tongues alot, and you will prophesy also, you will receive all the gifts of God's Spirit if you show obedience to the faith. You will walk like Jesus Christ, as 1 John talks about who ever says they have fellowship with God, they will walk like Jesus, and if they do not they lie, and are not practicing the truth.
