Here's my take...

I don't care about global warming. The idea that some Chicken Little fear about impending doom should somehow be allowed to affect how I live my life is ludicrous. I know how the world ends...

About Mr Hercules...It took me about 30 minutes to see that this guy is about as unreliable as the rest of the 'greenies'...I started by checking out the 'mere' weathermen that he belittle's merely because they are on TV. In reality, they are mostly Certified members of the American Meteorological Society and have degrees in meteorology. You give me ONE guy like that and he has MORE credibility than Al Gore.

Speaking of Algore...it takes SOME NERVE to bash on the credentials of Inhofe's 413 when the messiah of global warming has ZERO credentials...

Algore, the self-proclaimed expert of the Global Warming Congregation of the America's and the World (GWCAW), has a bachelor of arts degee. He failed at Law School. He then was a journalist, but somewhere in all of that got a bit of religious instruction that has obviously served him well. As the Vice-President of the United States he did nothing on the global warming issue. Now that he's a private citizen, and sees a way to make tens of millions of dollars he's embracing capitalism by selling it out...but doing NOTHING in his personal life to promote a better environment.

Its because they lie and will say anything to make a point. Up to and including, calling men who are certified by the AMS with bachelor's degrees in the field mere weathermen...while propping up their pseudo-saviors.

I don't need to go any further with junk like this than the term, "Deniers", and the rage and hatred associated with it to understand where these folks are coming from. Spend some time reading up on the Soviet Union and how they handled debate within their perfect society. They didn't, they silenced any dissent by labeling those who were opposed, and then denied them Liberty for speaking the Truth.

As for anthropogenic warming. There is too much evidence contra-wise to indicate that this probably is nothing more than a natural cycle to believe the hyperbole and rhetoric to the contrary.

I remember the acid rain scare and I remember the supposed Global Cooling and coming Ice Age scare. Someone wants more of your money and more control over your life, it's that simple.

Group Think does not equate to a consensus. Just 3 months ago there was an overwhelming consensus amongst the elite that the Surge in Iraq wasn't working either. Science is often profoundly wrong about it's assumptions and Politicians have a worst track record. Now place the two together and we have a huge problem.

The inconvenient truth about your link, is that the site is ran by Steve Milloy. Now, the question of course, is Steve Milloy a scientist? No, he isn't. He is a paid lobbyist for the oil and chemical industries.

Why believe a paid lobbyist over say The National Academies of Science. Thats like giving more weight to the medical advice of a Crack Dealer than your Doctor.

I did not post this to change any minds. Probably 80% of America already agrees with me. The few that don't won't believe it regardless of how strong the evidence is. I just merely pointed out that Inhofe's supposed "report" was yet another sham.

I am confident though that the critical mass has been reached in terms of public concern that actions are going to be taken regardless of how much of a fit the anti-science right throws.

It wasn't a sham...the guy who wrote the thing did nothing more than character assassination and omission of facts. Then he posted it on a non-scientific website (since that seems important to you) thats run by a loon who believes in Algore (who also has ZERO scientific credibility.)

All they did was list the official credentials of every individual listed. How is that a sham? That is what Inhofe should have done if he were actually looking to be intellectually honest.
