How is it that these foundational doctrines of Christ spoken by Paul are the very ones that gospel teachers today argue over and say are not a matter of Salvation? Can you be saved without understanding and practicing them?

Hebrews 6

1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Elementary Principles Of Christ

1. repentance from dead works

2. faith toward God

3. doctrine of baptisms

4. laying on of hands

There is a whole new testament written about that statement "Believe in Jesus Christ".

How can one believe in someone they don't know?

If one says they believe and don't know what they believe in, they become a liar and a pawn in someone else's treachery. Paul told us in this scripture in Hebrews 6 what the elementary principles of Christ are. These are the elementary principals, part of that which is Christ Jesus. If a person doesn't know and understand the principals of Christ how can they know Christ?

Christ came preaching Repent and believe the Gospel.

Mark 1

15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."

I am saying that there is no time like the present to learn everything you can about our Lord and Savior who loved His friends enough to go to the Cross so that all who will come to Him will be saved.

John 15

13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.

14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

John 14

23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

It's interesting, but if you look at Paul, he was always going back, to see if the people/church, continued in the faith. He was worried about them not going on. He was worried about them just stopping at hearing for the 1st time, and then not continuing. Why do you think he preached so much on "Enduring" and continuing in the faith? To believe, was just the starting point of a long line of faith. But, to many today, salvation is just one dot!

Salvation is something that all believers need to be grounded solidly in. Salvation is something all Christians should be able to tell others who are not saved. Salvation is the basic message we are told to spread, then we are to bring them into discipleship.

In Hebrews 5 & 6, where the scripture tells us that the milk of the word is the elementary principles of Christ, is where they are speaking to those who know of these principles and should be moving on to a more deeper understanding, the meat of scripture, to become more mature in their walk. We can also see this as Paul addressed the church of Corinth in 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, "And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?"

Saying that, there is only one way to be saved, and that is to have faith in Jesus and His works He did for us on the cross and afterward. The scripture that states that all you have to do is call on the name of Jesus and you are saved, assumes one must first know who Jesus was and why they are to call on Him. The name alone can not save, it is the work that He did that saves.

A dot and a collection plate. A way of life that doesn't even resemble what Christ showed or taught. Those "Enduring" will be getting back to the first Church that Christ built real soon. The Lord will be pouring out His spirit without measure across the globe one last time as a witness to all nations and then the end of the world and the beginning of the kingdom.

One must know who Jesus Christ is and what He taught. Or how else can one truthfully say "I believe".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
