I don't think the Lord cares about the wrapping.....only about what's inside. Designer dresses won't get you into Heaven and blue jeans won't keep you out.

:)

As a friend once said in a Biblical paraphrase: "Seek first the Kingdom of God -- He'll sort the details out." Evening gown or over-alls are just the wrapper like you said. God cares about what can't be seen - our hearts.

What's the term for the phrase:

"what's right for you, may not be right for me"?

Here's the answer I got back:

Oh, for Pete's sake.

Being so set on going by the word of the Bible, show me please in the gospel, where Jesus talks about "Relativism" and I want the word too! You won't find it, because it is a man made label to put on people who refuse to conform to man made rules and regulations.

Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me.

Do people really belive that it is just about giving a cold drink of water, a meal, or a coat to a poor man? Well it isn't it is about true charity of the heart for all people, including the brother or sister in Christ. And I ask you, where is the charity to put a label on someone because they ask to be left alone regarding their personal convictions? AND where is the charity in the heart when a label is given because someone requests to be allowed the uniqueness God created? People talk about taking away from the power of God, well the very ones making the accusations are the very ones taking away from His power.

Mat 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in [yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

So, your god can be anything you'd like him to be....rather than Who He says He Is?

jackie, you don't get to make up your own god....neither does anybody else....but they sure do try.

Our God does have guidelines and precepts and He doesn't show favoritism. His precepts apply to everyone....and if we live outside of what He instructs, then we are practicing "lawlessness".

We don't get to define, God does.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I guess that means you can't find "relativism" in the bible....

who said anything about making up our own god? why don't you clean the wax out of your ears and listen? no one said anything about living outside of what He instructs or what HIS precepts are...did you even really read the original post? I think not, I think you like many looked for certain words so that you could get on your soap box and preach something you know nothing about, and place yet another label on yet another person...which was exactly the premise of most of her words. But you don't listen to that...you look for flaw and then paint a picture of imperfection of someone else without even bothering to hear. I praise God for He sees people such as myself as the beautiful creation as the finished product instead of the ugly duckling that all of the people like yourself see me as because I don't walk and talk like you a fact of which I praise God that I don't....I happen to be a swan and so is lovinghim4ever!

No jackie,

What I read from the OP, was that someone can go by how they feel in their heart, and that's ok. It's not. That is why the Lord commands us to heed the instruction that we are given through the Word of God, so that we will not be deceived "in heart". That is the pitfall....going by "how we feel", rather than believing God thru His Word.

Jerimiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

That is why we need God's Word, to be able to discern our hearts correctly. We cannot go by our feelings, we will end up in the way that leads to death, as the Psalmist tells us.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Pr 16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

In His Love,

Suzanne

go back and read it Suzanne, you and OP were quick to jump on the band wagon without listening to the girls heart. If you want so badly to be like Christ, which I am sure that you do as we all do....try putting on a cloak of compassion and stop with the labels and assumptions. You did exactly what she spoke of.....all of her life, labeled as this or that because she is a bit different. Not because she goes against God and what He has taught us all to do.

You read what you wanted to read instead of opening up your hard heart and hearing her. Jesus time and time again was moved with compassion for the very people you and OP condemn with labels and being blinded yourselves by short sightedness. He who is the least of these will be among the greatest in the Kingdom. Oppression is oppression Suzanne...and He said do not oppress nor prevent His little ones from coming to Him. He said unless you make yourself as one of these you are not fit to enter into the Kingdom. He wasnt' just talking about the little children, He was talking of the children of God and those who refused to have anything in their hearts for another person except judgment because of difference. Shame on you and anyone else who thinks this behavior is acceptable.

We cannot go by our feelings, we will end up in the way that leads to death, as the Psalmist tells us.

and it is quite obvious that you have not only numbed yourself to your own feelings but also the feelings of others. Words are deadly weapons Suzanne, when God said thou shalt not kill....I'm sure that He wasn't just speaking of murdering the physical body but also those who kill the spirit and soul by simply not caring and speaking painful and hateful words to others. You will say that you care, but I will say you are being deceitful to yourself because if you did, you would NOT have readily labeled the girl who just poured her heart out about how much pain she has endured all of her life by being labeled. Keep the wounds bleeding Suzanne and while you're at it...add a little salt.

No one labeled her. And I very clearly explained that I was not talking about "pants or skirts".

I WAS however, talking about where she can find TRUTH, which is NOT in her heart, but rather thru God's Word.

This is love, to share the TRUTH of God's Word, and snatch from the deception of "humanism".

2 Thess. 2:10.......receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

It is not right to continue to leave someone in falsehood. That is NOT love.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Speaking of salt. If it(the salt) loses it's saltiness, then what???

There is no remedy! For salt is what is used for seasoning anything else. Once the salt's flavor is gone, it is now only good for trampling under feet.

It is vital.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
