Of course things are old. God created the earth and then chilled out before the next 6 days. It also says in the Bible that time is irrelevent to the lord. Now the subject of life is a totally different issue. 6-8 thousand years. Evolution: No Way. Adaptation yes. And adaptations take only about a 100 generations to be noticable (and guess what, a generation for a dog or cat is like a few years)

I agree that evolution has not occurred. However, life has been on this planet for far longer than 6-8 thousand years. There are lake varves that date back 40,000 + years.

However I would say that a lot of scientific deduction is based on assumption.

Assumptions are a neccessary part of human reasoning.

How reliable is logic in an illogical world?

As reliable as 2+2=4. Do you really devalue logic as much as you say you do?

2 dogs + 2 days = ?

What's the square root of -2. If memory serves me correct, it is a letter J?. Logic is inconsistant as weather.

Was that meant as an insult? There are too many here that take themselves too seriously. So busy trying to figure out the meaning of life that it goes by without notice. :th_praying:

You must be careful when you use the term "evolution." Evolution has most definitely occurred. It occurs and has been observed in almost evey species of animal on planet Earth. However, evolution as a mechanism of creating a new distinct species, or Darwinian Origion of the Species, has never occurred.

What Gerioke is doing is much like a man claiming that there are pink unicorns flying around the outer fringes of space and then demanding that we disprove his claim.

I'm not the one demanding evidence of things unseen.

I'm still waiting for either one of you to explain Joshua 10 using scientific evidence. Until then all your scientific evaluations are gobbledigook.

:th_praying:

Unfortunately it can't be done without suspending many physical laws. If you'd like to know the physical consequences of the earth standing still, if even for a femtosecond, I can help you with that.

Do you believe the bible is truth?

I believe the Bible is absolute truth. What you fail to realize is that the vast majority of both Catholic and Protestant theologians believe in the old Earth model of Creation because it is clearly the only way to reconcile every passage in the Bible that deals with Creation. I posted a theological question earlier in this debate that was totally ignored. Why do young Earth Creationists absolutely refuse to admit that their position creates a time line that makes the rebellion of Satan impossible to place in 6 days. Satan was created by God as Lucifer on Day one of Creation. You can not place His creation any earlier than that. He rebelled and Ruled on the planet Earth. When did he do this? One can not fit this into the 6 literal day model of creation. If you go to the Genesis account and read it in Hebrew, you also see that the literal translation of "day" during the creation week can not be translated with certain meaning. "Yowm" does not mean 24 hour day. It can mean 24 hour day, but It does not by its own standing mean "24 hour day." It often means period of time. The evening and the morning most obviously refers to ending and beginning of a period. The term evening and morning was used on day 1. When were the sun and moon and stars and plantes made to divide the days and nights? Not day 1.

If the Bible plainly said that God created the Earth in 6, 24 hour days, and He did it 6,000 years ago; I would believe it no matter what science said. However, I came to the conclusion from scripture that the Earth is not 6000 years old. It is merely convenient that science confirms the fact. I have been told by people who regularly visit Israel and regularly study with and discuss issues with Rabbi's that Old Earth Creation is the universal belief within judaism. They all say that the young Earth model is strange and almost uncomprehensible to the theologians of Judaism.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
