if you just look at the first ten or so topic titles for this forum today (04-15-08) think about which ones are listed as endtime events in the description given in the Bible. you don't even have to read the topics themselves just the titles should jump out at you. then look at what is going on in the churches today. how much bad doctrine is being soaked up and adopted by the church as gospel, (a form of godliness yet denying God) the apostasy seems to be heavily upon us

did anyone forget to mention the food riots spreading across the globe?

not being a harbinger of doom, just leaving a few things to think about and draw your own conclusions.

The coming of Jesus Christ is glory not gloom for those who abide in him, but what you say about the signs of that coming is right on.

I was only thinking a few minutes ago before reading your post that there is no need to be a Christian to read the signs that this world as we know it is into a vortex of crisis and collapse. The signs are obvious.

Recognising these signs I question my motives and behaviour even more urgently than in the past, and think of my children, wondering how little I talk about it with them so as not to worry them, and how much I should tell them so that they are prepared. Time is too short not to do something.

You are definitely not a harbinger of gloom, rather you are a person who has the intelligence and the eyes to see what others too wrapped up in their personal affairs do not see.

Thank you. You must have been listening to my thoughts, or me to yours.

I've been wondering that for a long time.

I've posted this before some time, but I'll share again. Note, these are just musings I've had, and I know people will have reasons to disagree, and that's fine. It's built on some premises, and you may disagree with these as well. That's OK. But at least let me share, and you may see if it fits or not to what you understand. :emot-hug:

Premise 1: I've heard so many interpretations of Revelation that I've learned not to hold to tightly to any interpretation.

Premise 2: The general concensus is that the Great Tribulation lasts 7 years. But what if that is a misinterpretation? Therefore, there might not really be a clear-cut time frame for the entire Tribulation.

Premise 3: The interpretation of the Rider on the White Horse (1st seal) being the Anti-Christ never made sense to me, so I've always looked for alternate interpretations.

So, with that in mind...

The rider on the white horse is a "Conquerer bent on Conquest." Becuase it says he was given a bow but not bow and arrows have caused people to interpret a "peace" movement, but I wonder if "bow and arrow" is nothing more than an English expression? What if in Hebrew/Greek the bow implies arrows?

Gen. 48:22 - And to you, as one who is over your brothers, I give the ridge of land I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow."

Hos. 1:7 - Yet I will show love to the house of Judah; and I will save them--not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but by the Lord their God."

So, with that premise, the 4 Horsemen are:

1. The spirit of conquest

2. War

3. Famine

4. Death (by war, disease, plague)

Well, right now, the spirit of conquest is alive and well on the Earth in the form of what we call "Radical Islam" (of course, Muslim immagration in other nations has skyrocketed, and the Muslim influence is gaining ground, too).

The horse is white. White usually signifies purity or holiness.

Holy War? (Jihad?)

Was 9/11 the manifestation of the opening of the first seal? I don't know. But before 9/11, who gave much thought to Islam? Who knew of any Muslims? In the past 5-6 years, there's been a skyrocketing population of foreign Muslims just in my community college!

I could be wrong. Time will tell, I'm sure.

But it is interesting how gas prices (needed for transportation and other of our necessities to living) and food prices are skyrocketing all over the globe. Has this ever happened before? I don't have the means to know. Can someone check?

Well, it sure does make one think of the black horse at any rate.

And that is my ponderings.

God bring back to our remembrance what He has told us when we need to know. Do not feel alone when you are thinking of these times. I am sure that God is telling His people that He will be here SOON! :)

Even So Come Quickly LORD Jesus

:th_praying:

This topic is very interesting for comments.

all the signs of end times have been going on for nearly 2,000 years if you look at history.

Wars have abounded everywhere, famine has always been here somewhere and dozens of men have been deemed the anti-christ, from the pope to Hitler.

When the end time does manifest itself most won't even know it because they will be pagans here not christians, remember the rapture? So be like the wise virgins and stop worrying.

altacall, believe me i have not posted in fear, but rather as a recognition of what appears to me to be more signs at any one intersection in time than ever before. what you said about these types of things occuring for 2000 years and all of the folks that have been called the anti-christ is true, but it still seems things are lining up as never before and at a rate that far exceeds anything ever recorded.

it is in anticipation of the coming of my Lord and not a fear of the end that i watch the sky!

The white horse symblizes peace which is how the anti-christ decieves the world that he is the second coming of Christ

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
