This generation is nothing like the WWII generation of Americans. I'm not gonna make excuses for perversion.

I think you are right that the methods are different now than then. Perversion is probably a good subject for another thread. But don't kid yourself, even in WWI, let alone II, we used very inhumane ways to get information from the enemy. And so did every country before us. This is just a fact of life. It's not pretty, most folks abhor it, including me, but it's certainly effective. This type of thing is NOT new, no, not even for the USA.

I watched a History Channel program on Saturday about torture. It was sickening! But it covered the various ways mankind has gained information, and punished, people, both men and women, since the days of Babylon to now.

Folks, we're not in Paradise yet. We live in a cursed world and all that goes with it. And again, we're not in Iraq to teach Sunday School.

Ya know , I really wasn't that shocked when I seen the pics. However, I was horrified and heartbroken. I have come to expect this. The Bible says that the love of most shall wax cold.

This is a time when the body of Christ needs to be in much prayer.

I believe that these pics will be nothing compared to what we will see in the near future.

I think it is fair to say that most, if not all nations have forsaken God.

Father, lead us and guide us by your great wisdom.

First of all let me say I was disgusted by the antics of those "soldiers" abusing POWs. Even if they were terrorists there was no excuse for such behaviour. The fact that some of the abusive soldiers were women, IMHO, makes it even worse. :D

However I am equally as sickened by the way the media is using these atrocities for propaganda purposes in order to vilify all Allied soldiers (especially US ones) and to discredit President Bush. I'm not saying these atrocities shouldn't have been reported but the media has turned it into a witch-hunt. I mean is it really necessary to keep showing photos of humiliated, naked prisoners? Surely by plastering these photos all over the papers and TV worldwide these POWs are being humiliated all over again! The media don't give 2 hoots about the Iraqi POWs only in using them for propaganda purposes. :D:) :suspect:

Disgusted is the only word I can come up with!!!!

We are supposed to be a moral, and above board nation.

I feel for the prisoners

So do I (and I've made that perfectly clear in my previous post) and I would hope everyone on this board would. However the point I am making is the media is using this for its own ends. As I've said I seriously doubt the media feels much for these POWs. They're just using them for their own ends. :suspect: :!!!:

Your probably right Cats. Sensationism is how they get viewers and readers. If they ever get ahold of pictures of American prisoners being tortured they'll make sure we see those over and over too. They showed us the pictures of the flag draped coffins not too long ago and some people got mad about that. Sometimes people need to see a picture in order to stop wrongdoing. On another forum last year some people were reporting that our soldiers were abusing prisoners and I didn't believe it and argued with one of the posters. Now I've been proven wrong. Like it or not pictures do provide an element of proof. Would you have really believed this was going on without a picture? I doubt it, you'd have wanted proof and without a picture you could have said any other proof was just fabricated.

Charlie, I have been itchin to say this...LOL

how many times have we seen the iraqi's or other arabs-terrorists say they would drive the infidals out "God Willing"

And yet we win a war, that militarily, ranks right up with some of Gods inspired victories of Joshua....I say this, yes, the Lord was Willing! Praise God...

The war is not over by a long shot. How can you possibly belive we've "won". Our soldiers are being killed on a daily basis, there's no end in sight, and it was supposedly offically over a year ago. It's starting to look more like a quagmire than a victory to me. With this prisoner abuse scandel coming out I fear that things are only gonna heat up and get worse.

It just occurred to me,.... maybe God wanted these pictures to come out. I'm not saying God is "on their side" BUT maybe God isn't too happy with us at the moment either.

What I don't understand is, how can the military decide what photos "they" will show to Congress? I thought Congress ruled the military and can demand every picture they have. Why is the military calling the shots about the photos?

Something doesn't add up here. I'm still not convinced that the photos aren't fakes, STAGED or haven't been doctored to misrepresent our troops.

Truly the media is milking the torture photos for all it's worth to their own advantage and liberal agenda! As far as I'm concerned, I consider what our soldiers have to put up with over there on a daily basis to be ABUSE as well, yet they proudly serve our country. The media never shows photos to verify what our soldiers have to contend with over there every day or what they have to do to TRY to get a good nights sleep.

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute to our fallen comrades. So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could think of doing that is by taking a picture of Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our fellow countrymen. I was wondering if there was any way to get this into your papers to let the world know that "WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN" and are proud to serve our country.

The attached photo was forwarded from one of the last U.S. Marine companies in Iraq. They would like to have it passed to as many people as possible, to let the folks back home know that they remember why they're there and that they remember those who've been lost.

Before anyone goes running to Snopes, this pic has been verified to be authentic and they also give the following:

Origins: This is a real picture, taken in Iraq on 9 September 2003 by the Baker Company, with the 7th Marines, 1st Battalion, to honor the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. According to the Rock Hill, South Carolina, Herald:

Helmets atop rifles honored the day so many died. Four U.S. Marines in Iraq held Old Glory a few feet off the desert sand. Dozens of others stood around them, spelling out a special message. The unit assembled Tuesday in a formation of husbands and sons and helmets and weapons that spelled out, "9-11: We Remember."

Andrew Schoenmaker, 25, is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and an executive officer of Baker Company, with the 7th Marines, 1st Battalion.

Lt. Schoenmaker and his commanding officer bandied about the idea for a picture to send home to the United States signifying that the unit is still in Iraq, but the pose ended up honoring the Sept. 11, 2001, victims.

"It is in remembrance of those that gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, and the reason that no matter how long we are here, we will continue to push and never forget why we serve," Andrew wrote in an e-mail to his father.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

After the deafening silence, I don't give a rip about how these terrorists are being treated until someone starts protesting this

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
