It started at 2 feet in diameter at like 3 AM and by noon the next day it had spread across the Interstate and was 40 feet wide and 70 some feet deep. it shut down the Highway and paralyzed the City. We have had a few sink holes here in Florida in the last couple of years, and it wouldn't surprise me that it was because of the amount of water being removed is far exceeding the water being replaced. Florida is a natural sinkhole area, actually, without the water removal. Maybe it might speed up the process, but they occur without any help due to the geology of the place.
