Still, don't forget...we have some people who are very new to the faith and aren't too bright.

I'm married to one. It takes enormous patience to guide and direct them. Whenever my husband says he's a Democrat, I just cringe inside.

It's not easy living with a new believer. He should have shown more fruit by now but it's a real slow going.

I hope we can remember that people make bad judgements and poor choices.

God didn't come to save the healthy but the sick. My hubby is definitely in need of a Savior...and he knows that.

We shouldn't just write everyone off as lost just because they're grossly immature as believers.

There's a lot of infants who haven't reached any real level of maturity and they haven't produced much fruit as of yet.

We have to be patient. I know...God is teaching me this daily. He was patient with our many immature decisions and choices. He's been patient with our years of growth and struggle.

I think the name says it all...we are all a "Work in Progress" and while my own husband isn't for abortion and doesn't drink, et al...he has a lot of emotional baggage and yes, he's a Democrat (gag, choke)...

But that's life...and he needs time to grow in Christ. We just have to remember that many people are still "growing"...

Hi Cat. :D I'm not sure why you addressed all that to me. I pretty much just agreed with things already said. I agree with you too. :D

Sorry, I didn't address it to you. It's just that your name "Work in Progress" is exactly what we all are... I wasn't referring to you.

Your name is what we are (none of us have "arrived" yet)

...sorry about the confusion.

they don't

support prayer in school and want to take God out of the Constitution and

out of the Pledge of Allegiance.

these are political questions and not necessarily a good measuring stick.

For instance...in today's climate I don't support prayer in school.

They have government supported prayer in the schools of Iran.

But if your point is that liberals want to remove God from all public life then I agree. That is specifically what the "freedom of religion" clause is about.

Greetings All,

It would be great if we lived in a "perfect world", but unfortunately we do not. One person mentioned that Clinton was bound to be elected (or words to that effect). I agree. But it wasn't because I voted for him. Once he was elected, I was devastated, so I went to the Lord about it, and he brought into mind when Saul became King. It wasn't God's choosing for the people to have a king, but He gave the people what THEY WANTED. From that time on Christians have been faced with a quandary. Either they choose to follow Saul or they choose to follow David - a man after God's own heart. But as we all know David too had a corruptible nature.

Today we are faced with a two party system, at least in the U.S. And the reason we must "choose" between these two is because they are the two largest blocks of voters out there. If we do not vote "for the lesser evil", that is we vote for the opposing party or for some other inconsequential party or person, or do not vote at all, then we are ACTIVELY supporting the OPPOSITION.

I would like very much to vote for a good solid Christian. One that I felt I could be assured of doing the Lord's will. But it ain't going to happen folks. The problem is the divisiveness that is in the block of voting Christians. IF we were able to come to agreement amongst ourselves as to abortion, et al, THEN perhaps we might have an effect.

As it stands, should I vote "for the little guy" who the Dems supposedly would help support? And with that take the responsibility for the murder of countless unborn babies? I really don't think so. I should end up as a pauper - to save even one of those unborn babies. That is how precious life is.

The Lord makes it plain that we should "leave room for God's wrath", and all I can do is cry out "How long Oh Lord!"

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

If we had to chose our President according to all moral issues we might never be able to vote.

We end up choosing the lesser of two evils by default

:D That's exactly how I feel! Sometimes I feel like we have to choose a "lesser of 2 evils" too. I am not a very political person though.

Don't forget that the same "liberals" who the GOP media is making out to be anti-Christians are the ones who are fighting to protect your right to worship as you see fit. The fight is for CHOICE -- not taking stripping it away. In fact they are trying to give maintain the freedom to choose to worship or not worship as you see fit.

Of course CNN, MSNBC, FOX etc.... don't want you to see that. The corporate GOP puppeters who own and pull their strings of the 7 of the 10 Big Media Corps. are feeding you exactly what they want. Which is, for the moment, to vote Republican and fatten their growing wallets.

Anyone who says the Democrats are out to strip away your religious rights is a liar. Period.

the liberals are fighting for our right to worship? does that include freedom of expression of our faith?

sorry, i have to disagree. pick up a copy of david limbaugh's persecution, which cites court case after court case of the exact opposite.

and then just take a look at the causes the ACLU fights for, and which ones they won't touch with a ten foot pole.

i'm not talking about what i see on the news, i'm talking about documented legal cases. forget the media. liberal judges, liberal activists, and liberal legislators are stripping away christian rights one step at a time, not trying to protect our rights.

LadyC do you at least have a link for the cases? Just curious as I would like to do some research on it.

Greetings River,

Don't forget that the same "liberals" who the GOP media is making out to be anti-Christians are the ones who are fighting to protect your right to worship as you see fit. The fight is for CHOICE -- not taking stripping it away. In fact they are trying to give maintain the freedom to choose to worship or not worship as you see fit.

Well, it is pretty obvious we know which side you are on! If you were to look at the voting records of the Republicans and Democrats, as well as the Supreme Court Judges, you would find Christians ALWAYS get the short end of the stick from Democrats.

This nation (the U.S.A.) was founded upon Christian principles, by mostly godly men, and their writings are still available everywhere for you to read.

To be truly FREE, as Christians, we know that we must be obedient to God. Yet the democrats would take prayer out of schools, the Ten Commandments from the court houses, exclude all Christian activity, yet condoning every other religion in the world including witchcraft and voodoo. The Dems are NOT out to support what is RIGHT. Democrats in power are in it for the money, for the prestige, and the power. Individually you are cared for not in the least. They would much rather have a caste system where the few rule and the wealth that is left over is spread around to all the peons, supposedly making everyone equal - EXCEPT THOSE IN POWER, that is.

Most Christians know these things. I just can't help but wonder why you think being free is only a matter of personal choice. IT IS, if the "right" choices are made. But if everyone should have the right to "make their own choice" all we have left is anarchy.

You can have your ecumenism, I want what God wants for this nation and this world.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
