cerran, maybe this will help you understand.... the founding fathers did NOT want God to be left out of our government.

they DID want RELIGION left out of our government.

to leave God completely out of our government is to become a completely amoral society, not much (if any) better than the ones hussein or bin ladin were running. we're headed that direction as it is, because our society has worked so hard to remove any traces of God in government. do we, as christians, really want to push that agenda along?

I agree, but I see many people here forget that God does not always mean Christianity. Although we would like all people to know Jesus it just isn't going to happen, but I keep trying =).

I am not normally a very active person in politics. This year, however, I have taken a more active role in helping choose those who run our country.

This years election is getting closer. We need to get behind those leaders who stand for godliness. Those leaders who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and live the life. George W. Bush is a praying man. I am told he seeks the Lord on the matters that concern our nation. He has a compassionate heart. He seeks the face of the Lord for wisdom.

The Lord truely has "Shed His grace" on America. Today we can see by the issues that our nations is facing, issues like, gay marriage, abortion, homosexuals in church pulpits etc., etc., that we need strong leadership that is not afraid nor ashamed to let everyone know that it is the God of the Bible he trusts in.

I looked this up in Websters and was pleased at what I read.

Republican Party: one of two great parties. It's beliefs are that of a republic: soverign power resides with the electorate and exercised by elected officials.

It was organized in 1854-56 for oppossing the extension of slavery.

The Democratic Party: one of two great parties. Established in 1828. Favors social equality, not snobbish or socially exclusive.

I don't remember the issue of can a Christian be a democrate or liberal, ever coming up in years past.

Because of the issues facing our nation today, however, issues like gay marriages, and partial birth abortion, etc., etc..and because the Democratic party seems to lean in favor of these issues, I don't think it is wise to let this now too liberal party into office. However, there are those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and so to say every democrate is too liberal is as foolish as saying every republican is against abortion. It is wise to get to know the candidates. I have not always been one to search out backgrounds. I have taken anothers opinion and said well if he's o.k with you, then he's fine with me...which is o.k to a point, like if President Bush approves him or her, but not wise all the time. I will tell you something that I have never confided to anyone before because I believe in a person's right to personal privacy when voting, plus too many arguements arise...but because I believe this election is so important...I normally vote a straight republican ticket. I have no qualms in telling you , however, that if it comes to my attention that a certain republican was a too liberal thinker and the better opponate was a democrate, I would split my ticket. The Lord comes first in every choice.

I have also discovered that those people who rage at anyone being a democrate and yet being a Christian, are usually those who have a critical spirit and don't even go to church themselves.

Get out and vote! It is a divine right given to us by the Lord. If we all thought that voting didn't matter men like Sadam Hussen could rule our nation.

"Almighty God. We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection...and that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with charity and humility...which are the charecteristics of the Devine Author of our blessed religion. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."---George Washington

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are a gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever."---Thomas Jefferson

"Earnestly praying, as we are in duty bound, that the Supreem Lawgiver of the Universe by illuminating those to whom it is addressed may, on the one hand, turn their counsels from every act which would affront His holy prerogative, or violate the trust committed to them; and on the other, guide them into every measure which may be worthy of His blessing."---James Madison, known as the father of our constitution.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
