the walmart organization, has ruined most of the mom and pop places, they have chased out alot of the yard goods stores, they are trying to run out grocery stores and after they have done run them out of business with holding their prices down, then they raise their prices......

the walmart in our town has their prices set higher then the next town, but we no longer have a yard goods store here and the only other clothing store that is still here is a second hand clothing.....

in Derby Ks, my mom lives about a half mile from walmart, and did all her shopping one stop.... she can not wear the cloths off the rack, for a couple reasons, one is they are not conservative enough, and second, they do not fit right.... so she was buying her fabric and yarn and such right there, and doing her grocery shopping there and having the car serviced there.... since they no longer are carrying fabric and other yard goods, she has to go almost 30 miles to get material, so walmart has lost her patronage (entire account so to speak), because if she has to go that far to get material, she might as well get her other shopping done at a place close to where she gets her fabric....

walmart pushed themselves into eastboro (subburb of wichita now) which had no one that ever shopped at walmart, they did not want walmart in there, for reasons the parking lot would be trashy, there would be mcdonald cups, diapers, and other things that would be dropped in the parking lot, that would get tracked (blown by the wind, carried by stray animals and such) in to the housing area...... walmart ensured them that would not happen, they still did not want walmart there....... and sure as shooting, the residence all had it right.... dead center bulls eye...... it was not two months after they opened, that you could drive down the streets and see diapers and other trash that had been carried from the walmart parking lot into the neighbor hood, and no one in eastboro shops walmart.... (most that live there earn in excess of 6 digits with out even thinking about it.....)

we no longer buy tires from walmart, it seems when we get tires there, they have defects in them, causing the front end of the vehicle to shudder when we get up past about 40 mph..... we spent enough money having the tires balanced and rotated that we ended up getting a new set for about 10% more then those cost, and have had no problem with front end shudder, and that was about 15,000 miles ago...... after we got the new tires, we had the front end realigned and by having those tires on it, caused damage to the tie rod ends...... even thou we were keeping it in alignment and trying to keep the tires balanced..... the walmart tires we pulled had over half their life left in them (for miles that they were suppose to go)

I am not happy with their product, but it is getting to the point no one else has the stuff that is needed..... Teresa can not buy cloths there.... she has been going to Kohls for hers and also making her own too.... i wear jeans, and have been lucky so far that they still carry sizes i can wear....

Well, yep, as long as we want to be able to buy lots of really cheap things, we'll have to buy Chinese made. On the other hand, my parents - both in their mid-sixties - still have quality cutlery, pots and pans that were wedding presents 40 years ago.

But things used to be a lot more expensive, and let's face it, quality still is. A good German kitchen knife costs a lot, as do good pots. Quality shoes cost (though some in Asia are making good ones now too, often under license).

I've recently seen technology factories here in the Philippines closing down as the companies - including Intel - moved their manufacturing to China to cut costs. This outsourcing thing affects people everywhere. Chinese manufacturers will likely raise their standards, as did Japan, Taiwan, and Korea before them, but this will also affect the cost at which we can buy things - they'll get more expensive as the Chinese get richer and have to pay their peasants more.

I buy things made in my own country when I can, and also when I can afford to. I do this not because I don't like other countries, but because I worry about the economic future of my own. We continually run a trade deficit - more money is leaving our country than is coming into it.

However, the fact is that economic prosperity really lies in innovation, as it always has. It's encouraging for the USA that despite outsourcing a lot of manufacturing you have a huge amount of people and money involved in R&D - IBM is closely linked with its university, places like Intellectual Ventures generate hundreds of ideas, and economists like Paul Romer have been preaching for years the need for innovation to drive growth. It's worrying that my own country is not as strong in such areas - we still rely on agriculture and tourism.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
