In the garden of Eden, God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of knowledge.

Satan queried, "Hath God said?" He does his best to cause us to question God's Word.

Just as I am, without one plea,

But that Thy blood was shed for me,

And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not

To rid my soul of one dark blot,

To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about

With many a conflict, many a doubt,

Fightings and fears within, without,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;

Sight, riches, healing of the mind,

Yea, all I need in Thee to find,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,

Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;

Because Thy promise I believe,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown

Hath broken every barrier down;

Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

If all we had to do is Keep God's commandments Why did Jesus have to die?

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

And I will put My Spirit within you, and CAUSE YOU to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments and do them." Ezek 36:26,26.

When His Spirit dwells within us, He empowers us to keep His Word - His law. That is what walking in His Spirit is all about. The Holy Spirit will never lead us into sin, or, "the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4.

In Psalm 119, the word, "Word," is used, interchangeably, with "law," "judgments," "statutes," "precepts," "testimonies," "commandments,"...

His Word = His law.

Jesus said, "Not every one that saith, Lord, Lord, shall enter (Rev 22:14) into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.

MANY will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity." (lawlessness). Mt 7:21-23.

"And hereby we do know that we know Him IF we keep His commandments. He that saith, I KNOW HIM, and keepeth not His commandments, is a LIAR and the Truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby we do know that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked." 1 John 2:3-6.

The children of Israel, Jesus, His disciples, and the New Testament Christians kept the Sabbath. If we are to walk as He walked, we must obey the fourth commandment.

He is, only, Lord to those who obey His Word - His law.

In my opinion, unbelief can only be attained by someone who once believed.

The term "unbelievers" should not be used to describe lifelong athiests. They should be called nonbelievers.

My pet peeve of the day. :emot-hug:

But wouldn't that mean that the term unrepentant could only be used of those who once repented?

I think the two terms are different, and in my understanding of what Gerioke was saying, she/he was only refering to the term "unbelievers" not every other word with the prefix "un"

I know it's a play on words but I do understand what you are getting at too, as far as I understand you cannot become unrepentant after you have repented - you only become disobedient.

Because you can't become unsaved once you have been saved can you??????

And Satan twisted the Word of God on the Word of God (John 1:1; Rev 19:13) in the wilderness...we need to be very careful and study a doctrine from Genesis-Revelation, before we come to a conclusion.

Those born on remote islands would be "nonbelievers". Never being introduced to Christ. If one never knew how can they lose faith? Also Those born in an Athiest house hold might never be introduced to religion at all. So if they never did have faith, they have lost nothing... Therefore "nonbelievers". A born again Atheist could be considered an "unbeliever". Right?

The only way I can see everybody who doesn't believe being unbelievers, is if we are all born with an inherent belief in God and some gradually lose it due to our immediate environment.

That is what the Catholic/Protestant religious system has done - they, conveniently, bypass some of the Scriptures to suit their own purposes. That is why God calls her, "The Mother of harlots." Rev 17. She has traded His Word for her traditions.

We are in a spiritual warfare...but, Christians just want to party on.

Again, that is why we should imitate the Bereans and study the Scriptures, daily, to verify what we are hearing. Ultimately, it is our responsibility.

2 Tim 3:16 in the Greek reads, "Every Scripture is God breathed..." Man's opinions are not.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
