Please don't think I'm not understanding what you are saying, because I do and I hope I never appeared to have insinuated something in regards to your walk with God....that was never intended. I just don't want someone questioning their salvation is all. I think they need to question their commitment, but not their salvation.

I'm going to respectfully withdraw from this topic in accordance with 1 Corinthians 1:10 as I'm starting to see a division forming when in reality there isn't one ( appearance of such though, and I feel it's time to move on )

I can agree to disagree and hope we can get on with things and win some souls!!!

Your Brother in Christ,

Bob

Ok from what I see so far is that it's just a comandment one should do - But if you don't it's not like you lose your salvation - Right? (Sorry just had to clarify that, so much to take in with all the dif. posts)

Can I ask why you haven't gotten baptized?

Bob,

Why shouldn't a person question their salvation? You don't think it's possible to hav a false sense of security?

You should never question your salvation. I know we all do at times, and it is human ( sinful ) nature to do so; but we need not and we should not. We are left with no uncertain terms in the Bible of our assurance of pardon. If you question your salvation, you are questioning the sufficiency of Christ's atonement. Plain and simple.

Why would one have a false sense of security ? Unless you aren't saved and you are living a life of sin and are a "Christian" for nothing more that "fire insurance", we need to have 100 % faith and assurance that Jesus is sufficient for our salvation.

This isn't debatable and it's non negotiable - it's Biblical. I think Paul sums it up very well....

Romans 8:31-39

31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.

34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died

Bob, you quoted Romans 8:31-39

I am curious to know why you didn't include other parts of Romans chapter 8. Namely the part where The Apostle Paul says that sin leads to spiritual death for a Christian.

Romans 8:12-13

...we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.  For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

If you are absolutely sure that you are saved, meaning you were drawn by the Lord first (God chooses us, we don't choose HIm), you realize your need for receiving Jesus' substitutionary death for our sins, you come to HIm with a sincere heart and ask for forgiveness and repent of your sins ---- then there is no need to question your salvation. However, Satan is working hard to make you feel like you have. These people under this type of attack, myself included in the past, must remember His promises as long as we KNOW we are saved, nobody will snatch us out of His hand.

However, I think it is IMPERATIVE that if you are not sure, that you do a gut check to make sure you are in fact saved. Were you truly seeking Him or did you just say a prayer and hope for the best? Did you respond to an altar call because everyone else did? Did you "receive" Him just to save your own hyde? I do believe many Christians have a false sense of salvation. I'm sure we all know some carnal Christians.

I think it's very dangerous to say to someone on the boards or elsewhere that "you are saved" when you don't know their hearts. Only God knows their hearts and their eternal destiny. It is very dangerous for us to make that call - we have no right. We must find out if the way and the reasons they came to Christ is Biblical. After all, we don't want to kid ourselves or mislead others do we?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
