Dad's getting frustrated with Sprint because he can't get his signal everywhere (we live in a Metropolitan area and having connection issues ). He doesn't want Verizon because of "nickel and diming" issues. So, I thought I'd ask around for advice and recommendations - and why? Thanks! I'll be following this thread because we're shopping around for new service. Last April we were on a ship in the middle of the Meditterranean sea, and my sis-in-law had service with her T-Mobile! (while we couldn't even get service to call home before leaving the states)

I have it. They're cheap, easy to work with, reasonable, and they don't nickel and dime! Almost all other carriers charge to RECEIVE text messages, T-Mobile does not, and their texting rates are very reasonable.

Very few if any areas of bad reception, no dropped calls. Pricing is resonable depending on your plan. I like the circle esp if you talk alot...he may not need that. They also have frugal pre pay plans.

I won't change. For a while in 2003 I had issues with dropped calls, but I have no complaints now. We have rollover minutes, no roaming, unlimited texting, and it's reasonable. Their service is second to none. I've never had a dropped call. I've never been "out of range." They are a little more pricey maybe...but you get what you pay for. Also...if you use your phone online...i don't know if it gets much better than Verizon. My brother-in-law works for Alltel and even he wishes his phone worked so good as a browser. They drop calls, reception is bad everywhere, and the stupid phones get hot after five minutes. Then one of them went belly up today (razor phone, out of the blue, just died and it's less than a year old.) The law is about to change about cancelling cell phone contracts early...soon as it does I'll be kicking them to the curb and going with T-Mobile.
