I personally believe that the testimony of the New Testament is clear--it is possible to live above sin while here on earth.

I know that if it is possible, it is extremely difficult, and only achievable if we are always close to God and walking in the Spirit of the Lord in obedience. That being said....

Here are just a few passages of Scripture, more is to come later should the need arise. (pay attention to the bolded sections)

Ephesians 2:8-10

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith

Absolutely. A newborn infant has a sin nature but has not committed sin nor had the opportunity to sin. Hence, the child is without guilt.

Likewise, mentally impaired individuals, mentally incompetant and small children who lack the cognitive ability to discern right and wrong are without guilt, therefore they are without the guilt of sin ...

John 9:39-41

39 Yeshua said, "It is to judge that I came into this world, so that those who do not see might see, and those who do see might become blind." 40 Some of the P'rushim nearby heard this and said to him, "So we're blind too, are we?" 41 Yeshua answered them, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin. But since you still say, `We see,' your guilt remains.

Respectfully, if you say you can live above sin, then you are saying you are like God. That you are His equal correct? I don't agree. Do you know anyone who lives a completely sinless life?

If we are to forgive our brothers, and everyone else, 70 x 7 then that insinuates that there is a need for forgiveness, thus they have wronged you, thus they have sinned against you and God.

Well, anyone who has been following This Thread ( click ) knows my position on it already...and I think it's a sin to even believe you can live a sin free life seeing the Bible is so clear on the matter that we can't....I guess the only other comment I will make on this is what I've been saying over & over again....

In the words of our Lord -

1 John 1:8-10

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

That's pretty clear on this matter don't you think ? Do you want to make Jesus a liar ? Verse 10 says you do if you say you are sinless....I simply don't see how there can even be an argument on this at all. We are all sinners. Period. Sinners saved by grace, but still sinners.

I'd also read Luke 18:18-29 as well if you get some time. Jesus made things pretty clear on this subject matter yet some still want to think they're perfect. Kinda negates the need for a savior, doesn't it ?

Ok, I've said my part. I just pray that those who think they are living without sin will see the error of their ways, repent, and continue to confess their sins on a daily basis.

In His service,

Bob

:t2: bob...with you 100%....Jesus was the only sinless person....those verses in the opening post to me are about sanctification IMHO...not only that...if we could live sinlessly...then theres no reason for Christ to die on the cross

Sin is the willful acknowlegement of wrongdoing. A person may be in denial or not admit it but I definitely DO NOT believe a person is a sinner if they are:

An infant, a small child, mentally incompetant (mentally handicapped or insane), et al..

I quoted scripture that PROVES this from Jesus' own mouth.

Otherwise, babies, toddlers, mentally handicapped persons who have no reasoning skills would be in danger of hell fire.

I DEFINITELY DO NOT BELIEVE babies, little ones and mentally incompetant persons are doomed to hell.

I have worked extensively with the mentally handicapped..adults. I've changed their diapers and fed them and loved them.

They have no capacity to "sin"....they're utterly helpless. They completely lack cognitive ability.

Anyone who thinks God is sending helpless infants and the severely incompetant persons who cannot reason, much less even toilet or feed themselves to hell fire...doesn't know the same God I know.

Can "I" live a sinless life. No. I've tried. Can't do it...but with God all things are possible.

I am continually being molded into the image of Christ Jesus but sinfree? Nope. Sorry. I do sin. But when I confess my sins I am cleansed from all unrighteousness.

We sin daily..and most the time don't even know it.

Do you lose your temper in traffic? Do you get snippy at the cash register? Do you fudge on your taxes?

I could go on and on...

We're all sinners by nature...but the question was worded "funny". Babies, small children and incompetant persons lack the cognitive ability to reason and understand right from wrong.

We need to be very, very clear about WHO we're talking about...adults with reasoning ability or little ones and the mentally challenged.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
