A disposable diaper has saved the life of an 18-month-old boy, breaking his fall from a third-floor apartment window, officials said Thursday.

Caua Felipe Massaneiro survived a 30-foot (10-meter) fall because his diaper snagged on a security spike embedded in the concrete wall around his apartment building in the northeastern Brazilian city of Recife.

The boy dangled from the spike for a moment, then "the diaper opened and the baby fell to the ground, but at a much slower speed," a police officer said. "The diaper obviously lessened the impact of the fall and saved the baby's life."

"It was a miracle," said the officer who declined to be identified because she was not authorized to speak to the press. "He could also have been killed by one of the spikes."

The child was treated for minor fractures at the Hospital Memorial Sao Jose, where spokesman Gilberto Tenorio said he was in stable condition.

Police have opened an investigation to determine how the toddler fell out the window and "if parental negligence was one of the causes," the police officer said.

The Folha de S. Paulo newspaper quoted Caua's father, 23-year-old Alexandre Cesar Massaneiro as saying that his son climbed onto a sofa underneath the window he fell from - "something he had never done before."

"It wasn't the diaper that saved him," Massaneiro told the newspaper. "It was God."

It was definitely God. That kid could have been impaled or squished.

why would you have an open unbarred window over top of a sofa with a young child?

Thank God for His mercy.

Thank God for His mercy.

who has bars on their windows????? I never have, even when we lived in Iceland, we were on the third floor apartment and had windows open 24/7/52......

no bars on them windows either....... Michael was navigating the stairs on his own at age 6 months ( taught him to go up and down so that he would not fall, being the laundry was in the common area, and walking/running at age 9 months) at about 14 or 15 months, we moved him from the crib to a day bed so that the crib could be put away until his brother was born..... we would leave the bedroom door open a bit and have a Baby Gate in place to keep him in the room at night, we would pull the trundle out so that if he fell out of bed, he would land on a mattress only 6 inches lower then the one he was on.

one evening, after putting him down, i was reading, and i heard him playing a little, then i heard the baby gate rattle a bit. then after a few seconds, i heard a light thump (muffled) and then a louder one just a couple seconds after (less muffled) and then i heard the pitter patter of little feet running down the hall towards the living room with a little boys giggle mixed in.... I picked up Michael, and carried him back to the bed room, and saw the lidless cloths hamper laying on the floor toppled over. Michael had climbed over the little baby gate, fell into the cloths hamper and tipped it over to escape his room.

I thought I will fix you, so I set the other baby gate up on the first making the total height about 4 feet high..... he was not even 2.5 feet high yet.

I went back into the living room, and i picked up my book, and then i heard the baby gate(s) rattling again... and before i could even think to yell at him NO..... i heard the muffled thump again, a bit louder though, and i took off down the hall as i heard the heavier thump of the laundry basket falling and seen Michael running down the hall to meet me giggling again....

needless to say, NO MORE BABY GATES.......

KIDS ARE JUST RIGHT OUT FAST....

one day, my mother, me, Michael, Oppa, and Michaels mother were visiting together at Oppa's house (in San Gerdi Iceland)

it was a beautiful day so the windows and doors were open for the breeze.....

as we visited, Oppa had given Michael some toys to play with ( we are all sitting around and Michael was on the floor in front of all of us ).... one moment, I watched as Michael was stacking blocks up on each other (19 months old, for his brother Christian was only a few days old) I looked up and then when I looked back, Michael was GONE!!!!!!!!!

I knew that there were things in that house that he could break, or get hurt with, so I jumped up and checked a few rooms, then I remembered the door (the entry way was on the second floor, and the stairs going up to it were really rough cement stairs, harsh weather eats up cement real bad) so I ran to the door, and looked down the stairs and did not see him, then I heard a noise, and he was climbing a chain link fence that was 10 foot high and he was half way up it, encompassing a playground for a school that was adjacent to Oppa's property....

now,

who is at fault?

what would have happened if he had fallen?

oh yeah, by the way, there has been many a day Michael took his naps out side in his pram (baby carriage) or parked next to a dozen others at the entrance of a shop even in the winter time (the pram was so warm that we would put our hands in side it to warm them up, even with gloves or mittens on, the temp in the pram was warmer then our hands)

would I do this in the USA????? NO WAY.... TOO MANY WIERDO'S

MIKE

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
