Hi Solman, I totally 100% agree with you. I had to have everything in my life burned away (except my daughter) before I could see God even more clearly than I thought I had been seeing Him. For 2-3 years, I'd been living in His comforts, enjoying His presence and learning from Him. I hadn't experienced the "trouble" Jesus talked about yet. God had me nicely surrounded for a while (like a baby in a swaddling blanket). But the time came when He knew I was strong enough, and like Job, He removed the hedge. He trusted me, like He trusted Job (knowing this still blows my mind!). Needless to say, I experienced humility unlike anything that had come before. I also discovered where my security lies-in His sovereignty. (By the way, I am, in no way, comparing myself to Job-a man of tremendous faith and faithfulness towards God!) He gave me the foundation of Jesus, burned off the chaff, and gave me a completely fresh start in my circumstances. So, by taking away the distractions in my life, I too, could see Him better. And I am very thankful He did.

At the end of my original post, I added that I thought perhaps this Word was just for me. Not that others can't benefit from God's wisdom. I'm more of a thinker, than a do-er. My flesh would rather sit in His presence than face the pain the world throws at us. So...He's pushing me to do more. To actually walk in my faith and walk out His word in my day to day life-especially when it is REALLY challenging for me-I am very, very shy and easily intimidated by people (my thorn?) I have taken that first step, and I have witnessed His purpose for obediance, and that motivates me and comforts me when He asks that I take another first step. I guess I'm searching for ways to explain this to people who ask me why I love God and why I believe in Him. And why I do as He wills even when I don't understand or I'm afraid or the worldly consequences of doing so are obvious and harsh.

For example, a few years back, during the concern over a flu virus break out in China (?), my sister (a non-believer) talked about avoiding the sick people if it spread to America. I told her I couldn't walk away from them, nor the doctors and nurses that would need help. I don't have medical training, but I do have two hands. She freaked and said that I could get sick too and die. I told her that if God wanted me to volunteer during such a need, He'd keep me healthy. No response from her after that, and the conversation ended. God spoke through me that night and I know that I know a seed was planted in her. He did that a few times while I lived with her. Now I'm trusting Jesus to send the one to water the seeds.

But you're right again, I did leave out submission. You can't have obediance without submission first. That needs to be a part of it too.And you can't have that unless you know and trust the one you follow-Jesus. It looks like we both have experienced the miracle of Christ. I guess I just don't want to get so far from the non-believer that I forget what it was like to be one. I can't help them if I can't relate to their blindness. God is taking me through the teaching of the world and challenging me to question what I believe and why and where my ideas came from-Him? or the world?. I had to let go of my earthly viewpoint of 'submission' (that sense of being enslaved by a dictator) because what I thought it was, was NOT God's intention for it.

Arrr! I feel like I'm stumbling over something! Something I can't see. Keep challenging me though. Please, please, please keep challenging me!

Dear Storm612,

The smile on my face you can't see but it's on me. What you wrote is a beautiful example of walking with Christ and living God's will. Your shining and living the experience the Holy Spirit has directed to you in your life is the participation and reason to keep on living the walk in good times and bad the journey is worth rewards. I'll end with a scripture I don't care to cut and paste the word of God this I think is very relevant to both our interactions.

St. Mark Ch 12:30-31

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greateer than these.

Christ spoke these words to St. Mark. God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses in the Old Testament, Christ spoke these in the New Testament. When all one has is what I call zero factor the process of seeing the light is shone. If we look at the Bible as whole, every scripture and meaning is a preparation for all of us when the words of the prophets do come true someday. By living with God whether we understand why is not the reason we do it but long term obediance.

Your strength with other women who have children in these times is very commendable and certainly not an easy task. God must have a special recognition to all good mothers tending to His children. I see the children as His under our care that makes having God as our leader even more important than what the world tries to stay us into. Back to the point is that living the Bible will make the differnce in us and our children this is a concept that is able to be transfered to the children if we don't happen to have a breath tomorrow everyday counts the road is not easy but the end is worth every precious moment. (Whether we like it or not!) If I'm not telling you anything new the spirit has revealed to me how my heart really feels about the outcome.

Keep your shine Stormy, the fire inside may blaze inside you sometimes and the fire wither to an ember we can always rekindle the flame because the love of Jesus Christ our Saviour died for us when the world saw him as a sinner God's grace brought him back into our hearts and mind forever with an undying spirit. We're not in this alone hold fast to what is right and our destination is in God's hands. Amen Solman

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
