Peace.

It's funny the times when I'm lead to do so is when I'm completely alone with God. In my household thats a very rare thing in deed. G-d has been dealing with me lately about having my head covered in church, and when I read that Scripture in 1 Corinthians about a woman having her head covered, well, that clinched it for me. I know people look at me weird, make strange statements that "oh, it's not necessary to do that", but I want to show respect to God, my future husband, and my own body by covering my head in services. a. I had heard of women covering their heads at church but it isn't something the ladies at my church do. I read and re-read the 1 Corinthians and it was very eye-opening to me. There was no grey area for me anymore. Kat - I don't take that wrong at all. For me, I wear my cover in obedience to God who said that its a disgrace for a woman to have her head uncovered (1 corinthians 11). Some feel that we're only supposed to cover our heads when we pray... but I take the position we're supposed to pray without ceasing... so for me, I keep my head covered all the time. Its also about modesty for me. I think God gave me long beautiful hair for me and my husband. I don't think I should show it off to the world so I keep it wrapped up I can only speak for myself. I know I haven't always felt this way and I don't think less of gals who don't cover. Its a personal choice. -Deedee

Guest HIS girl
Isn't there someplace that says a woman's hair is her covering? 1 Cor 11:15 - But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering. Guest Biblicist
1 Corinthians 11 2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings, just as I passed them on to you. 3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head

Guest Biblicist
I think in another thread, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... Someone said that "long" means to flip. Meaning that the hair should be long enough to flip. IN that case my mother would definately need to cover her head, her hair hasn't flipped for 50 years...too much hair spray!
