  1. <p>Shalom everyone,</p> <p>A few weeks ago, I informed our community that I believed we would be heading to war before September 4th-5th, which happens to be Rosh HaShannah, the Jewish New year. The reasoning for it was if Israel was going to do anything, it would have to happen before Winter began.</p> <p>With the feasts going into late September, and shortly thereafter the rainy season would commence, it would limit Israel's ability to launch long range air strikes against Iran. However, recently an IDF commander suggested the strikes to severely damage Iranian nuclear capability would only take 48 hours. Apparently, the Israelis have put together a comprehensive attack strategy of shock and awe that we've not comprehended. Much like the Blitzkrieg attacks of Germany in WW2 were not understood until they took place. Israel probably has put together a military plan which is multifaceted using conventional missile strikes, submarine cruise missile strikes, along with its highly sophisticated air force using bunker bombs to decapitate Iran's nuclear program.</p> <p>However, events unfolded last week which seems to indicate that an attack on Syria is imminent. As the West accuses Syria of launching chemical weapons against its own citizens, it appears the West has all the "reasons" to go to war with Syria. However, hampering politicians from acting is the abysmal polling — the latest Washington Post poll, only found 9% of U.S. citizens backing a strike on Syria and it appears they will not get UN Security Council backing a strike with Russia and China strongly condemning any action in Syria.</p> <p>However, reports are suggesting that Saudi Arabia is working out a deal with the Russians as the Saudis want to see Assad removed from power. If we see a sudden change in policy by the Russians over the next few days, then apparently they accepted the conditions that the Saudis have laid out. If not, then the situation in Syria has international ramifications as Russia doesn't want to lose its only Mediterranean base located in Tartus, Syria. This base is vital for Russian interests in the Mediterranean and they will not willingly lose their only foothold in the region. As Obama is playing chess with a former head of the KGB in Vladimir Putin, he may be completely underestimating the value Russia places on Syria as an ally — perhaps not as much as Assad, but Tartus' geographical significance to Russian interests. The Russians may be forced to increase their support of Assad in the region and thus drawing the world into a deeper conflict as this civil war in Syria continues.</p> <p>Syria has threatened to attack Israel, if the West attacks. I believe Israel is looking at the possibility of Lebanon, and Hamas broadening the war instead of facing only Syria. As Hezbollah has been sending Assad troops to fight against Al-Qaida backed rebels in Syria as a proxy for Iran, they would see an attack on Syria as an attack on them. Is Lebanon willing to launch thousands of rockets against Israel? I believe they may especially if Iran supports the action. This may be why Israel has strategically placed another Iron Dome unit in the middle of Israel. Recently, Hamas was aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood was against Assad, which placed Hamas (Sunni) also against the Shi'ah factions of Iran and Hezbollah. However, a few weeks ago, the Muslim brotherhood was taken out of power in Egypt which lead Hamas to run back to the Shi'ah factions to be found in the good graces of Iran. Iran may give a 'test of loyalty' to Hamas and compel them to attack Israel if the West should attack Syria.</p> <p>The situation may become exasperated in Egypt. if Hamas, Hezbolloah, and Syria attack Israel while the Egyptians sit on the sidelines. The army in Egypt is delicately maintaining power, but be sure that the Muslim Brotherhood will try and capitalize on the events in the Middle East to regain power. However, I believe the Egyptians will be so busy with their own internal problems, that they will not come against Israel as a country. But al-Qaida operatives operating in the Negev Desert will probably launch attacks against Israel. As a week or so ago, Eilat had shot down a missile launched against the city. Roughly a month or so ago, Israel placed a Iron Dome battery in Eilat for this very contingency.</p> <p>While the politicians in the States try and find political cover for a Syrian attack, if the region erupts into war, expect every aspect of life being affected. Gas prices will soar, the markets will continue to slide, and the world may be seeing the beginning stages of WW3. Will this happen? Who knows — but as a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) I know that my future is secured in Him! Is yours?</p> <p>Your brother in the Lord with much agape love,</p> <p>George</p> <p><a class="a2a_button_facebook" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/facebook?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="Facebook" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/facebook.png" width="16" height="16" alt="Facebook"/></a><a class="a2a_button_twitter" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/twitter?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="Twitter" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/twitter.png" width="16" height="16" alt="Twitter"/></a><a class="a2a_button_digg" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/digg?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="Digg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/digg.png" width="16" height="16" alt="Digg"/></a><a class="a2a_button_delicious" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/delicious?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="Delicious" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/delicious.png" width="16" height="16" alt="Delicious"/></a><a class="a2a_button_stumbleupon" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/stumbleupon?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="StumbleUpon" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/stumbleupon.png" width="16" height="16" alt="StumbleUpon"/></a><a class="a2a_button_reddit" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/reddit?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="Reddit" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/reddit.png" width="16" height="16" alt="Reddit"/></a><a class="a2a_button_technorati_favorites" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/technorati_favorites?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="Technorati Favorites" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/technorati.png" width="16" height="16" alt="Technorati Favorites"/></a><a class="a2a_button_printfriendly" href="http://www.addtoany.com/add_to/printfriendly?linkurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;linkname=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" title="PrintFriendly" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/icons/printfriendly.png" width="16" height="16" alt="PrintFriendly"/></a><a class="a2a_dd a2a_target addtoany_share_save" href="http://www.addtoany.com/share_save#url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.georgewhitten.com%2F457&amp;title=It%20looks%20like%20we%27re%20heading%20to%20WAR%21" id="wpa2a_2"><img src="http://www.georgewhitten.com/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/share_save_120_16.png" width="120" height="16" alt="Share"/></a></p> Click here to read the entire article. 2. This is occurring while Congress is in recess. Tends to be how the Administration does things. Should be an emergency session of Congress to veto or authorize these strikes. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/08/27/20209022-military-strikes-on-syria-as-early-as-thursday-us-officials-say?lite

  3. I definitely agree with you, Montana Marv. Exactly, Joseph. I agree with you as well--- so we'll know what to look for, the parable, the world shaping itself as a woman about to give birth as the pains get closer and closer together --- as with the wickedness we're seeing in the world today, escalating, earthquakes, signs in the Heavens, knowledge and travel increased, so many signs coming together as never before. I'm enjoying reading what everyone has to say on this topic, it's so interesting. This is a great thread.

  6. While Assad of Syria is no angel and is a cause of national and international terrorism, the opposition that is trying to overthrow him are religious fanatics backed by Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood and are just as capable, and more, of using gas attacks on innocent people. I have a problem with any attack on the Syria regime because ..... To date, no national or international agency or media source has been able to show who fired the weapons, and while the UN inspections that have taken place thus far from interviews of victims, reports published that I have read say there is no solid evidence who the culprit is, but shows strong evidence from testimony from victims that the rebels are the culprits.

  7. In answer to the question above.....yes, chemical weapons are WAY worse. These weapons (such as sirin gas, said to have been used in Damascus) can kill a lot of people very quickly and at very little cost.

  8. Air strikes. Because the best way to defend a civilian population from chemical weapons is to blow them up instead. That should go in a Hallmark card.

  9. So he has drunk the kool-aid and good is evil and evil is good for votes just like a politician...when the news about him I always had an uncomfortable feeling that he probably just went where the political wind blew.

  10. biblical Isreal seems to hold the age of 20 as when a male can go to war, I'm not sure if thats considered an age of accountability, not so sure God is sending dead children to hell, since Jesus is quoted "suffer not these little ones to come onto Me for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

  11. Sin's destruction is complete and unto death for the human race. Therefore, every aberration of God's Good and perfect Will for man is the result of sin. Homsexuality is not God's Good and perfect will for man.

  12. This article refers to an upcoming 48 hour missile barrage on Syria with 100 missiles. That doesn't sound very limited to me no matter what the planners are saying. U.S., Britain prepare for 48-hour missile barrage on Syria A U.S. and British attack to punish Syria for using chemical weapons would see the allies launch more than 100 missiles in a blitz lasting up to 48 hours, according to military insiders and diplomatic sources. A Royal Navy submarine would join forces with U.S. warships in the Mediterranean to fire Tomahawk cruise missiles in an attack that is likely to begin within days. And then there's the headlines all over the web saying the rebels were told there could be an attack as early as a few days by a U. S. official. It's really strange that they are telling everyone their attack plans? Seems like a lot of sabre rattling going on.

  14. I'm astounded here recently. I get why lots of people don't believe in evolution but saying GPS disproves relativity when it's used relativity in its calculations and saying gravity is wrong, well as I've said I'm astounded. It's like that fixed earth idea in another thread. Have the tin foil hat people taken over this site. Used to have courteous reasoned debate. Also some people getting a bit angry in their posts with CAPS and the like. Relax people. Exchanging different ideas and outlooks shouldn't lead to anger but greater understanding.

  16. I find myself asking if harlots are still human and if they are, is there hope? What about Rahab? Rahab was one of those unexpected characters in the Bible. Even though she made her living as a prostitute, she was selected for high honor in the Faith Hall of Fame in Hebrews 11. Stop lumping everyone together is the point I am trying to make. Harlots, bimbos, and even homosexuals are still human beings that Christ died for. Doesn't mean I want to be one or agree with their sin....but without Jesus who knows where I would be? Doesn't that sink in? Hello? Ok sorry...end of rant

  17. There are a lot of really good responses on this thread. It made me think and wonder about those groups of people I might find disgusting, or dislike. As a believer, we have a message to share of salvation, and would I rather withhold the message of Gods grace and mercy from them.

  18. Pretty cool, heres what I came to at the end of my first click through: The Proof that God exists is that without Him you couldn't prove anything. While this proof is valid, no one needs this proof. The Bible teaches us that there are 2 types of people in this world, those who profess the truth of God's existence and those who suppress the truth of God's existence. The options of 'seeking' God, or not believing in God are unavailable. The Bible never attempts to prove the existence of God as it declares that the existence of God is so obvious that we are without excuse for not believing in Him. Romans 1 vs. 18 - 21 says: The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. God does not send people to Hell for denying what they do not know, but for sin against the God that they do know. Funny, I just Quoted Romans 1:20 in my last post hahah. Anyway, cool find, bookmarked. Peace.

  19. The context of this verse deals with Paul's instructions on how meetings are to be structured and ordered when the church meets in order to avoid chaos and disorder. Prophets are instructed to speak one by one, when to speak or keep silent, when to pass judgment etc. Unlike the Old Testament where the prophets are depicted as solitary figures delivering "100% accurate thus sayeth the Lord" messages, it seems that in the New Testament prophetic messages are subject to further discernment, testing and interpretation by others. That's why Paul concludes his directives by saying spirits of prophets to prophets are subject. This is further reinforced in the following verse which declares that God is not a God of confusion but peace - and therefore our meetings together should reflect that.

  20. Its a good thing the child wasn't about to eat a fizz bomb..... Time to eradicate the use of the word shoot No more photo shoots No more bamboo shoots No more he shoots he scores No more movie shoots No more shooting from the hip and so on I guess we had better not use the word chute either I would be particularly concerned with the time spent grilling a five year old without knowledge of the parents The school officials called it a 'terroristic threat'. They are losing their minds
