  1. The rock the church is built on Is Christ himself- Peter was used as an early teacher and leader-- but its not built on him- I wont go into the small stone big rock in the Greek cause I know you will cite that they spoke Aramaic not Greek-- but the recorded version is Greek---- so the "early Church Fathers"- that tradition of the RCC so heavily calls on knew it was Jesus not Peter the church was built one==== and Yes Jesus did found the Church-- which is made up of all born again believers--- Constantine founded the Roman Church in 300 or something AD when he made it the official religion of the Roman Empire because he saw a "SIGN of the Cross " in the sky with the words "IN THIS SIGN YOU WILL CONQUER"--- which really goes against any groups understanding of coming to Trust Christ as Savior because he died for sin~~ as far as soooo many versions of Protestant churches---you are right- but its not belonging to any church that saves a person from sin and Guarantees heaven- its faith in Christ-- I am not an apologist for the protestant movement- there are just as many protestants going to hell as there are Catholics--- it is the remnant Church that the Holy Spirit protects-- not any religious/political organization the masquerades as a church
  2. sorry JM-- that is the whole problem with the RCC "documents" instead of scripture. I hear this all the time on EWTN Catholic radio- some apologist named Dr Edwards-- repeatedly tells callers that Jesus never said the Bible was the source of all spiritual instruction- his argument is that Jesus promoted "oral tradition"-- But for me-- It's not so important to win and "intellectual head butting " with you-- as it is to warn new believers and those searching Christ that the Roman Church will most likely lead them to hell rather than to heaven
  3. Catholic propaganda says that Jesus never said the Bible was authority-- well when he was tempted by Satan- did he say "oral tradition rebukes you " Or did he say the Church Fathers rebuke you" or did he say The Magesterium rebukes you?' ----no he said IT IS WRITTEN-- the Bible is the final authority-- and it wasn't the Roman Church that gave it to us-- it was the Holy Spirit
  4. Marrying some one for LOVE or because you like them is a relatively new concept in human history-- its usually for mutual protection or financial stability of some sort-- but what ever your motives were-- you made a promise--- Stick it out- The Lord does not like divorce ~~
  5. I think it is insulting to the person who wears it and thinks its a good thing~~ this is a DIY "MOM"tattoo after to much beer
  6. if a person is "venerating" really worshipping Mary-- It is very doubt full they are saved
  7. I have Roman Catholic friends and relatives-- I struggled for years wondering about their salvation-- I finally grabbed the bull by the horns and started to study-- I even listen to EWTN ( Catholic Radio)to and from work ( 2 hours a day)-- the more I heard and learned the more I knew that the Roman church--- IS NOT CHRISTIAN-- I'm sorry to say it-- but I can not consider spiritual fellowship with them-- now as far as world view-- I agree with the conservative Catholics on just about everything-- but on doctrine-- no RED FLAG-- wont get you into heaven-- sorry to say-- political views will not get you into Heaven-- only exclusive faith in Christ alone will-- and the RCC does not preach that
  8. to the question of the post---- yes, it is Idolatry. The Roman Catholic Church, and the Biblical Christian church are two completely separate entities
  9. no. it wasnt the Lord, and its not the Holy Spirit because its spirit, not Spirit--- no caps-- it just means some sort of spiritual insite - remember the Pharisees knew a lot-- but not everything about how the Lord works~~
  10. an amazingly astute reply-- keep at it, I think you are catching on !!
  11. selective rapture-- the Holiest people go first~~~~~
  12. well== its "dog " ID so I have to give you that-- but the "Ghost "part-- no necromancy for me-- maybe change it to "hot" or "bad" or "mad"-- then it would be truely awesome-- no no-- wait change it to "Good"
  13. He's from Wisconsin ~~~~
  14. so- are you saying Babies go to hell? or their souls just wink out and cease to exist??-- if they did not make a choice to believe because they were incapable, do you not also think they did not make a choice to sin? ~~ they had no personal sin to their account- only the inherited sin of Adam which Christ's sacrifice --would have covered if they didnt believe they were saved-- they wouldn't be saved-- so your argument verifies the opposing view~~ Bible says we are predestined to be conformed to the Image of Christ-- if a person does not believe that-- their salvation may be suspect
  15. It makes perfect sense-- an adult ( unless mentally deficient in some way) has made choices contrary to God-- where as a baby ( who doesnt know any better) is still "innocent of conscientiously defying God"
  16. Yowm-- come on-- if I fully understood this Id be up there with the Lord-- this is the best I can do with my old mind--- lol
  17. I don't think anywhere in the Bible it says there is any innate "Good" in us-
  18. okay- thank you I am sorry if I gave any impression that I did not think all babies go to heaven- maybe I misspoke somewhere but I don't know where-
  19. after much debate in my head about Calvinism and Armenianism- I think I have got my head around the topic
  20. Please review my initial post in pink-- I said all innocents go to heaven-
  21. I'm not sure if I misunderstood you or if you misunderstood me. or if we are talking about the same thing and don't know it-- I believe all babies ( and children that have not reached accountability, and adults that are mentally challenged) go to heaven-- by the Grace of God-- no one who can not comprehend good from evil is condemned but are "safe" because of Jesus triumph over death and the grave
  22. If they were destined to go to heaven- they would have grown up Christian-- cant go to heaven if your not a believer~~~
  23. yes we can-- if they are going to heaven- there was no other plan for their destiny-- if they grew up- they would have been Christians~~
