I hope there will be more teachers to pick up the challenge of the gun without fear and protect the children young or old. I doubt many principals would...too many are perfect examples of the “Peter principle” IMHO and experience. Though I can think of one who would do anything to protect his students and teachers.

What is being said is that children no longer have the Lord’s Prayer said in schools, the 10 commandments mean nothing, laws are liberal and the way the leadership of the country is going is to appeal to the strident liberals and ignore all that is based on the laws of God. Liberalism is our problem... in Canada you cannot defend your own home against an intruder bent on harming you. If you do harm someone breaking into your home you are tried not the intruder. Our country is in a mess thanks to our current leaders. Guns in the hands of the mentally stable teachers would have protected the majority of students. But when police run from harm and leave innocent children defenseless you have what happened in Florida. a good article on the mass killers from Sandyhook on indicated no fathers in the home. We live in a society in NA where marriage is meaningless and easy to dissolve leaving children without parents needed for role models and wonder why bad things happen. Remember Satan has dominion over the earth but not God’s children yet bad things still do happen to God’s children too.

They gave three types of gifts and the gold would have attracted thieves that is why so many think there were only three. the wizards could have been from one of the false religions with which Israel would involve themselves and God used them for His purpose.

God the Father did not have to “appear” as the Son of God, Jesus the Son, was with the Father from the beginning and when he appeared he appeared as the Son of God or perhaps the Angel of the LORD. Jesus the Word was and is the Creator, creating still. Do not omit the many was in which the Holy Spirit appeared to man.

Can you truly say you know his heart and his relationship with Christ? Did he ask the Father to forgive him? He was more than the bad he did.

You judge harshly. You have no idea what his relationship with Jesus was nor whether he asked for forgiveness for what he had done. Consider Paul, how God used him...I am not equating him with Paul but remember that if God chose to use him you are going against God’s servant. I know there is much hate here on the Board about Calvin but none of us is innocent of sin in God’s eyes and with what manner you judge you will be judged by God. Judging is a fearsome thing unless you have all the facts as God does.

I have found that the groups formed in church often become cliques and have heard more people mention that the church is influenced or directed by them. Not a good thing. Friends in church yes. I grew up with a number of them but socialize with only a handful...and these are older than I am.

Well!! A good place to say, "I'm sick and tired of PC in the church....something I was hit with again today."

I can understand someone grieving. I cannot understand someone going through divorce. I cannot understand many things others go through but with God's grace I can empathize with them and just holding someone's hand maybe all that is needed by the individual who is suffering or grieving. We can attempt to understand and not say the wrong thing when others are hurting. Sometimes saying nothing just holding ones hand says volumes.

Personally no cremation. The body burns the bones do not and are disposed of in the landfill. When dead it probably does not matter. The question also is ...is it really you and all you who is in the urn? ???? Jesus was buried or entombed. I prefer the burial method.

Today I would assume one needs permits...is there a law one one would break? We have come so far from that time in the religious laws of the country . Someone would make a call.....

The wonderful word of "have" means that no matter when...1000 years ago or 1000 years from now they are valid for the very day they are heard or read. Meaningful for everyone, amen.

We refer o the 1st of July as Canada Day, our nation's birthday . Refer to The 4th of July as Independance Day. That way nothing is forgotten. Actually for those who would like to share in the friendship of both countries ...there is an amazing fireworks display over the Detroit River ahead of July 1st and 4th for what is the Freedom Festival. Too late for this year, maybe 2018?

It address your statement about God not approving of tattoos in The Old Testament. I have previously made a few remarks about the dangers of the ink and that God warned about marking the skin to the point where some have it covering the whole body. The inks from car paint and printers ink or toxic paints not yet known will in the future affect the liver and kidneys but will they also affect the other organs with what disease. Therefore God knew before time was the dangers we face and warned His people be it in the Old Testament or New.

One cannot have the New Testament without the Old ...they go hand in hand the Old completes the New and the New completes the Old. Just because it is in the Old Testament does not mean it has no relevance....in numerous places God says "I am the Lod I do not change" neither does His word.

As I said before, God admonishes against cutting and marking the skin. But even if that were the least of ones worries or acceptance of God's word on tattoos, the idea I'd contaminating your largest organ, your skin, and have the contamination from that tattoo filter and contaminate your liver and kidneys or heart etc, it should give you pause. Car paint, printers' ink, lead paint, dyes that are made in an unsterile area with needles that are not disinfected would make me run. I do not need to be in a hospital connected to an IV pumping antibiotics into my body in hopes that I do not lose a portion of my body or skin to save my life. God admonished us for our "good" health, why would we not listen.

The 10 Commandments are the basis for the West's juris prudence are they not? And, those who do not agree with them eventually end before a judge. Jesus gave a new Commandment in which all 10 are contained - love the Lord Your God and your neighbor as yourself. If you honour your father and mother your life will be long on the earth. So are they done away? We live with them every day.
