  1. When my wife and I were living in an 8 unit apt. complex that was owned and managed by a company that had multiple building and contracts they had in their lease with us that we could not do the same. The American flag was no exception. I personally have no problems with this as it is applied to an apt complex or any other rented space, otherwise an owner has every right to display anything they want. 2. Wasn't the original purpose of science to prove that God existed? I thought that was even the case for Archimedes, Galileo, even Einstein?
  3. This particular article has me asking ... Are there any other words that may need a re-evaluation? http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100511/ts_af..._20100511102011
  4. Luke 12:27: 27Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. That is beautiful. Awesome
  5. I don't know if that was a question or not, but here is some scripture to point out "How does God bring us peace?" Psalm 119:165 (New International Version) 165 Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. This is a better one... Romans 5:1-4 (NIV) 1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. It is through faith in the Lord that we find hope Hebrews 11:1 "now faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see." this defines faith. It is not just the sufferings of Christ that bring us peace it is knowing, our faith, that the risen Lord has put his spirit in me to have be at peace with everything you can shake your head at. Where you might be having trouble and that is sadly where a lot of people are, even those that are in church leadership, is forgiveness, or even still un-forgiveness! But that is another can of worms right there. Your brother in Christ Jesus Logan Durrett
  6. I agree. The establishment cause is to protect the church FROM the state. It's being used to attempt to separate people from God. I agree... ... and that is something that will be disputed nobody likes to hear that our nations forefathers were devoted christian men. They may have been Pentecostals, or Catholic, or I draw a blank for the name of the church of England... the point is they were devoted men. Your brother in Christ Logan Durrett
  7. This is a web page I found using google. This page is great but not exactly what I would call the true faith v sci argument. more like an augmentation thereof. I would like to however point out that there are some in the science community that are trying to prove with everything that they are that GOD exists. I hope that everyone reading this will do what they can by keeping minds open to actively searching for themselves just how much God has influences the development of scientific limitations. Enjoy: http://www.zootle.net/afda/religion-vs-science.shtml Also: http://sciencevsreligion.net/
  8. I just recently quit.... clean for four months
  9. I watched the video and behold the tears ... I can say that I am driven by eternity, but at this very moment in my life God has called my wife and I for a time of healing. We have shared some very bitter moments and we have suffered emotional harm by each other. The Lord has shown me that I am doing His will, which has called me to search for him, and that is where I am at. My wife and I being separated are being tested and we are both sharing in the pain that we have caused. Anybody who may actually read this response....Please say a prayer for this situation and for our son nathaniel and our unborn. At this time it is not so much the pain anymore that drives my tears, it is the fact that I miss them so very much, and that my family is my calling. Beyond that maybe ministry, but only God knows that, for now I must concentrate on searching the will of God, and allowing Him to effect change in me and giving him all that I cannot change... That is enough for now Good night... Your brother in Christ Logan Durrett
  10. Really now...... So umm..... Ya...... Well ok. Sounds cool right. They see time as a shape. AWESOME.... So what did they prove??? Your brother in Christ Logan Durrett
  11. That is a very sad situation. And what is this ... "Phelps anticipated that a Supreme Court ruling in the church's favor would be unpopular, but she said Westboro's members viewed the potential outcome in Biblical terms". What "Biblical terms" are they referring to? I am not sure I understand that statement. However, If i was to take sides on this it would be with the marines family. I do not believe any protester has the right to do what this "Church" was doing. So the dead marine may have been a homosexual, but that does not give anybody the right to what did. That could have been a homo-church leader, no one has the right to disturb any grieving family regardless of the situation. I agree with Believer1997 "somehow, and I could be wrong - I do not think the framers of the Constitution meant this as Free Speech.... How sad." Total non-sense, situational, kinda stuff like this really gets under my skin. Your brother in Christ Logan Durrett
  12. Chiquita, Hi and blessing to you. I am currently seeking counseling for this very matter, I can only tell you one thing. You are bigger than your anger. Your anger serves as a channel that makes you make one of two decisions: Let it control you and let it control your situations, giving satin that much of a foothold leads straight to a chokehold. OR... You can know where your anger is coming from and and giving it to God so he can change the situation and attitude, making a positive outcome. For too long have let something like my anger dictate to me who I was. I am not an angry person and neither are you. You are a child of God and your anger is an emotion given to you by God. I would really like to get into more personal detail here but I am reluctant to reveal such a painful situation tat is still so fresh and really only family and my church know, and God himself. I can tell you however that negative outcomes because you believe your anger got in the way is only the fist step to freedom from something that is so debilitating. I am 25 years of age and I come from a very, very, very...... similar back ground. I feel your hurt in my heart and I pray that you have not let your anger drive you away from Christ. Know Jesus has been there he know your pain and you have been given an opportunity to make these negatives into positives by trusting Jesus is with you...... Still sooo much I would like to tell you but this is just not that time.. You can email me if you would like to know more and pray that you would read this and know that you not alone.. I will pray for you....God bless Your brother in Christ Logan Durrett
  13. Thank you for sharing such a personal topic. I hope that you have found a certain strength that only comes from sharing those things that are personal and that so serve the body of Christ in as much as it may encourage another broken heart or lift a sinking spirit. Thank you.. Your brother in Christ Logan Durrett
