  1. Hello brother Jerry In reading your post I would like to comment. Unforgivable sin: If a person witnesses the acts of the Holy Spirit and calls it the devil what he is doing is rejecting the Holy Spirit and thereby cutting themselves off. The Holy Spirit is as a gentleman and if we turn our back on Him how can He help us? (A person can be a real good christian by appearances and still be a unbeliever.) We know that only God can heal, no man - and Satan does not cast out Satan. Jesus said 'I can if you believe' & 'He did not do many works because of their unbelief'. Faith is a law established by God and those people are actually believing that they are touching God. Of course receiving from God be it healing or spirit/natural blessings does not necessarily mean salvation.
  2. I believe scripture teaches. There is such a thing as 'the' permissive will but if we look at examples in scripture where saints have gone down that road it was filled with regret. The guidelines for a legitimate union is a woman who has no living husband and a man who is single or justifiably so. Marrying an unbeliever is not a sin in itself but it would seem the Christian is not living high enough to overcome the circumstances they find themselves in. (It's a bad choice that often leads to personal destruction - but I trust God's mercy will keep His children from it. 'the footsteps of the righteous') In a union where one member then responds to the Word and the non-believing spouse is still pleased to remain with the believer the non-believing spouse may actually reap the rewards at the judgement.

    Sin

The Word tell us that we all fall short. It also tells us to be perfect as He is perfect. Then the only way that this is possible is for us to be in Him - redeemed through the atonement. Read posts on: Is this or that sin? I believe that the Word teaches that the only real sin is to be in a condition of unbelief. If we are believers we don't transgress willfully but fall due to our weakness, after which we seek reconciliation.
  4. 2404 Then why do we continue to buy and sell if these others have this mark, for they are the ones who can buy and sell. Having the mark of the beast allows one to buy and sell. What gives? In Christ Montana Marv Hello Marv We are not yet in the fullness of time. We still live in a condition of freedom of worship. As time progresses and conditions develop the spirits will manifest themselves. There will be a squeeze on God's people (to their good), greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, so all is well. When the restrainer (Holy Spirit) is withdrawn from the scene then the beast will be able to exercise power and what you are referring to will be realized. God bless
  5. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. To reject the Holy Spirit is to take the mark.

    Elijah

Hello brother Steven I'm with you on John the Baptist but I believe the second Elijah commission would parallel it, one of restoration. It seems the commission of the two witnesses in Revelation appear to be that of pronouncing judgement. God bless John the Baptist preached, to repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand. While we have had a period of time since Jesus where we are to share the gospel, in the future, just before Jesus is to return, it will be the last call to repentance, pending judgement. Many will die during this judgement. That plus, the Jewish people will be looking for Elijah who is to preceed and announce the Messiah. Elijah in the OT, did forewarn of coming judgement. Hello Q What do you see as the defining features of the 'last call'?

    Elijah

Malachi 4:1,5,&6 1.For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 5. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. If we are closing in on the 'great and dreadful day of the Lord' which shall 'burn as an oven' where is the Elijah that is to turn 'the hearts of the children to their fathers'? Jesus did identify John the baptist as the Elijah for His day but it appears we are to again expect an Elijah prior to the 'great and dreadful day of the Lord'.
  10. Interesting and good. I imagine you know I believe God used William Branham. He talks a lot about his encounters with the angel. On one occation he asked if he could wake his son Bill Paul to see. He was granted permission and Billy Paul tells how that now he can identify that presents.
  11. Brings to mind, 'lean not on your own understanding' it can be our greatest enemy. The footsteps of the righteous are ordered... Also IQ stays in the ground and even in this journey it can leave us. All is well that ends well. Interesting read.
  12. Hello Bopeep My understanding. Jesus Christ takes his bride up in the rapture and the nominal church goes through the tribulation. At this time Christ turns again to Israel for the 144 thousand and the appearance of the two witnesses. After the three and a half years the occurrence of the battle of Armageddon. Then those that were raptured come down to live through the millennium in their glorified bodies, showing that the curse has been broken. During the Millennium Satan is bound by circumstance after which he is loosed again for a short time which then culminates in the battle of Gog and Magog (Rev.20:8) and he is thrown into the lake of fire. Then the appearance of the new heaven and earth, the new Jerusalem where Christ and his bride will reign. The rest of the dead are raised and Christ and His Bride will separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep receiving everlasting life and are granted to be ministers to Christ and His Bride. This is also typed in scripture with such as Enoch/Noah, Joseph's life and others - Boaz/Ruth etc. Thanks.... but their will be unbelievers in the New Millennium....right?So the Great White Judgment is at the end of the Millennium?I thought it was at the end of the Tribulation before the Millennium starts? Ok...I checked The Great White Throne Judgment is after the Millennium. Their is possibly three Judgments 1.The sheep and goats judgment 2.The Judgment Seat of Christ(Bema) judgment 3.The Great White Throne Judgment If I'm following your thinking. The bride does not go through the great white throne judgement. She has already been judged 'here' that is why she has been sealed in 'unto the day of her redemption'. The second resurrection is unto the great white throne where deeds will be judged, sheep/goats.

  14. That which is born of God will endure to the end... 1 Jn 2:19 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. NKJV Love, Steven Amen God is omniscient. He doesn't do something just to take it back later. If she is one of His He will bring her back, one way or another.
  15. Is it bad for me say " I don't care?" I feel it is not my job anymore to worry about him or his personal growth. As for giving him money. Well, that's how the arguments break out between me and my husband. I say NO NO NO! At less for now he is agreeing with me. We haven't arrived yet we are still a work in progress. I'm with you, sometimes it feels like it is more than a person can bear. 1 Pet.4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.
  16. Of course every situation is unique however I think there is a scriptural principle that may apply. 'Without a vision the people perish.' I think our day and age is particularly vulnerable due to social/financial instability and the loose personal role definitions. Apathy in places of employment I think could be a case in point. It seems if a person can be brought to a sense of ownership where job satisfaction is directly related to performance, it changes things. If a person can find self worth in employment activity it is almost like a house on fire. Is there something that would catch this young man's interest and could become productive economically and for personal growth?
  17. Doesn't it say it would deceive the very elect if it were possible?
  18. In transit - from phone - can't recite chpt & vs. Joseph was espoused to Mary and God said fear not to take Mary thy wife. When we make vows one to another in Christian faith we are united in God. The ceremony is primarily for conscience sake - for the people. The license is to obey the law of the land.

  20. A young man of sound mind and body participated in an experiment in which he was suspended in tempered water and isolated from all sense stimulation. He could only tolerate this condition for a few moments before he became frantic, showing that we need sense stimuli to maintain our sanity. The natural types the spiritual. Am I being sustained by God's Spirit or otherwise? Do I dress and act like the world around me? Or am I different? Is my spiritual welfare dependent on pats on the back? Or can I stand in the face of adversity? Is my spiritual doctrine defined by personal preferences? Or can I be led by the Holy Spirit? Others...
  21. Salvation is of the soul, spirit is life. Temptations and afflictions are in the spirit and natural realm. When we desire to and give our lives to Christ we are not exempt from temptation. If we do not feed at the right place (God's Word) we suffer the consequences and become weak and fall more subject the wrong influences, even to the point where we can't seem to stand against them. But because we seem not able to withstand (being a weaker bother or sister) does not mean we have lost our salvation. Evil spirits having dominion over your body in sickness does not mean you have lost your salvation neither in the spirit realm. If you are a son or daughter you remain that though it may be a poor one. God does not save someone just to lose them down the road, He would be working against Himself. A classic example is King Saul. Samuel told him that shortly he would also be with him.
  22. Could I ask your opinion is on this 1 Corin 11 20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. 34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come. Some think nothing of this others say it means not to eat at church like pot luck dinners or other meals. Hello Coheir I don't see Paul supporting socializing in the church. I believe the reference to 'church of God' in v.22 is referring to the body of believers. I believe when we dedicate a building as a place of worship we need to be sincere and keep it holy, or where do we stop. I think soup suppers and fundraisers are alright but they are not what a church is dedicated for. I believe that if we live and worship the Lord according to the dictates of His Word the needs will be met. I think that is right in line with how Paul deals with the observing of the Lord Supper. I know sometime churches have a fellowship hall, but it is separate from the sanctuary. How do you read it? Thank you and God bless.
  23. Hello Cobalt In response to your comment. Is the general populace a part of Him? Voting is the responsible thing to do. Your post does not make sense. You stated that the general populous placed Jesus on the cross. That statement is false. The religious leaders of the day wanted Jesus crucified, not the general populace. Your comment did not actually deal with what I said. I always thought we all placed Jesus on the cross. Without our sins He would not have needed to die on the cross... a song... I was in the crowd the day that Jesus died And as He hung upon that cross His mother cried I saw the crown of thorns He wore The stripes on His back The water and the blood ran out And then the sky turned black My mind was filled with anger My heart filled with shame This man brought only healing Well who could bring Him pain Why does it seem the strong They always victimize the weak And suddenly I found myself Standing to my feet CHORUS: And I cried Who nailed Him there This Child of peace and mercy Who nailed Him there Come and face me like a man Who nailed Him there And the crowd began to mock me I cried Oh my God I just don’t understand Then I turned and saw the hammer In my hand! I am just a Roman soldier An ordinary man I love my wife and children I do the best I can But how could I have killed Him There must be someone else I got to find an answer I can’t blame myself CHORUS I nailed Him there This Child of peace and mercy I nailed Him there I am the guilty man I nailed Him there With my sins and my transgressions I cried Oh my God now I understand When I turned and saw that hammer… In my hand! Hello J.D. Striking words in that song. I also enjoy music so let me cite a couple of lines from a song that I know. He could have called ten thousand angels To destroy the world and set Him free ~ But He chose to die For you and me In God's great economy He was manifesting His attribute of redeemer. When accepting the atonement, in His provided way, we are blessed beyond measure. To reject His atonement we crucify him a second time, in our lives and then we must suffer the consequences. The fall did not take God by surprise but it is working out just right and God will be glorified. Our sins are the reason He went to the cross but it is all part of His great plan. God bless.
  24. Withdraw from politics, eh? This is the JW approach. They think that just voting soils them and they refuse to do it. The more I see the more sympathetic I am to that way of thinking, especially as the GOP talks more and more about being more like the DNC to win elections. I didn't mean withdraw, we are in the world but not of the world. I believe a person should do what is required but we don't have to let it consume us.'Give to Caesar what is due'.
