That raises an interesting thought.... So, for the believers who have been cremated, (not all of them had the choice as their families decided this whether it was the departed's last wishes or not) will their bodies be "reassembled" on the last day? I personally don't think what happens to our bodies after we physically die is important. Couple of things to add here. There are persecuted countries that cremate prisoners who die in custody, and its the government who decides, not the family. I tend to agree with you that what happens to the body doesn't matter all that much. Its done its job and it returns to its dust. As to the body of the cremated being reassembled at the last day, I asked that question and I'll share the answer here: If God could create the heavens and the earth - reassembling a cremated body will be no problem at all.

Hearing loss from church service?
walla299 replied to Chris.'s topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
FYI for anyone interested: Here's an answer for all that unwanted noise in church and the rest of our lives: 50 Pair of Orange Ear Plugs at Amazon for $7.58. I used these so I could sleep through noisy neighbors when working night shift. They do a really good job of moving the racket into the background where its easier to ignore or sleep through. A good comparison would be of moving the noise into the background. Why damage your hearing just because everyone else wants the volume at 11? -
Gun Sales Set Record for Sixth Month in a Row
walla299 replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
Well, you can't say Mr. Obama isn't doing his part to stimulate part of the economy! Guns & ammo seem to be selling really well around here! So well that it can be hard to find powder for reloading sometimes. No real shortages just people buying the stuff up as soon as it comes in at the store. -
DO YOU BELIEVE ITS OKAY TO EAT PORK, AS A BELIEVER IN GOD ?
walla299 replied to SINNERSAVED's topic in Theology
Pass the bacon. That's all I'm sayin' If a believer feels they shouldn't eat it, that's fine - more for me & at a lower price due to less demand! However: I'm not going to run anyone down if they feel the personal need to follow the OT food laws. Believers are free to do so if they so choose, but are not required to. They just don't need to be telling others they have to, or getting legalistic about it. -

walla299 replied to ayin jade's topic in General Discussion
2 or 3 isnt the issue, I am good with that. But pocketfuls? This is what I'm saying. Its not really an issue for me. Pocketfuls would be a problem though as there's no justification for it that I can think of. They still come in handy for lunches. Found a price of $7.68 for 500 French's mustard packets at Sam's Club, if anyone's interested. -

I don't, but then I'm usually buying something along with it. Its nice to keep a small stash of condiments and a spork or two and some napkins handy when out and about. Much of the stuff is left over after a meal anyway, at least that's how it works out for me. -

Just love writing in caps, eh? That sounds more like a troll, but that's just me. Try that in a business environment and see how far it gets you.

Hearing loss from church service?
walla299 replied to Chris.'s topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I already know the truth, Jeff. I'm owned by the Lord Jesus Christ and I have a few years experience on the narrow road and all I'll say to you is this: Sooner or later the Lord will bring you to a point at which you understand that life in this world is not the black and white view that you would have it to be just as he's done in my life. He tends to change us that way. I'm a lot more willing to give others room to be themselves in matters like worship music, etc. that are non-salvific than I once was. I still stand by what I wrote. -

walla299 replied to Chris.'s topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Gonna have to call you on this because life in this fallen world is rarely as black and white as you make it sound. You and I might not care for loud music, and that's fine, but there are other people don't mind it and that's okay too. It's way above my pay grade to say whether it honors God or not and I'm not going to debate the issue. People have been arguing about that for over 2000 years and still don't agree, so its a waste of time to me. The Church was given a lot of leeway in worship in the NT. You and I have no way of knowing whether the Lord was there in that church or not, but don't forget that Jesus said anywhere 2 or more believers are gathered together in His name that He would be in the midst of them. Those believers may not match your internal idea of what a believer should look like either - we come in all kinds of shapes colors and sizes. I was reminded of that this morning when we had a homeless young lady join us for worship. Don't like loud music? Do what I do: bring a set of ear plugs when visiting a church you've never been to before just in case. That way you don't have to leave when someone decides to turn the volume up, or the drummer gets out of hand! I traveled a lot for many years and visited a lot of churches in the process and that's what I always did. -
That has no more credibility than global warming. Just more conspiracy nonsense. PLEASE JUST DO YOUR RESEARCH AND HOME WORK BEFORE TRYING TO JUMP ON YOUR OWN PERSONAL FEELINGS ,THIS IS NOT NICE,AYIN JADE BUT YOU ARE FREE TO YOUR OWN OPINIONS ALSO, BUT PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING A COMMENT THAT IS NOT CORRECT OR YOU WOULD BE STAITNG BY THIS COMMENT THAT I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT, THAT IS NOT BEING POSITIVE,DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HAARP MACHINE IS ALL ABOUT? DO YOU KNOW WHAT CHEM TRAILS ARE FOR, OR WHY THEY EXSIST? HAVE A NICE DAY All caps really isn't needed and is often considered shouting on many all text forums. Just sayin'. This kind of thing used to go on all the time during the Cold War. The Russians would test our defenses, then we'd test theirs. This also happens when the opposition starts smelling weakness . . .

I have a stronger sentiment: "Good Riddance" Gonna have to second that.

Maybe not. I met a man about 6 years ago who had an interesting (and kinda scary) testimony. He'd been a member of a church I was visiting for over 15 years, was an elder, taught classes, and many of the usual things you'd think of for an active church member. He said that one day he was turning out the lights on his way out of the main sanctuary -- and it suddenly occurred to him that he wasn't saved. No bells, buzzers, sirens, voices, visions, or anything. The Holy Spirit turned on the lights and he knew he wasn't saved. He got saved right there and then. He'd been a believer for about 3 years when I met him. Sometimes the seed takes a long time to germinate. We're only called to plant or water - but God gives the increase.

I think you're right. I was told early on that there are 2 kinds of "Christians" in the world. There are "cultural Christians," those who have been raised in it, go to church, etc. or otherwise follow a culture or tradition of Christianity but may not have an actual relationship with Jesus Christ. Then there's the 2nd kind of "Christian." The ones who have a relationship with Jesus Christ and can be rightly called Christ followers or disciples. There's a problem though. We can't tell one from another from the outside as humans, but God can tell the difference and I'll leave that in His hands. Jesus did say something on the who's lost and saved that's a good guide: "By their fruits shall ye know them."

11 absolutely disgusting foods our grandparents LOVED!
walla299 replied to MorningGlory's topic in General Discussion
Right; chili down here is meat, jalapenos, green chilis, tomatoes, onions, chili powder and is often served topped with cheese or sour cream. It's AWESOME! Not always. There are plenty of scalliwags like me who'll toss beans in there too, although the bean-free version works great for putting over things, like chilidogs, etc. Yes, but you are doing that from the safety of AZ... Did it when I lived in Texas too . . . one of my best recipes was from a neighbor who grew up on their family ranch in the area and they always had chili with beans. No one got hurt. -

There's a reason the name "cashew" ends with "eww." They're disgusting, but I'm not sure about the satanic part. -

ISIS is attacking U.S. energy grids
walla299 replied to missmuffet's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
What's the big deal, jeff? If the grid went down for a long time it would mean the deaths of a good portion of the US population within the first year. Your fridge wouldn't work, no fuel, transport, supermarkets, and the "best" part is anarchy would not be long to break out everywhere. Sounds like a lot of fun, right? Here's the real fun: Many of those who would die would do so without hearing the gospel, meaning they would die without Christ. The Bible is pretty clear about what happens to those who die without Christ. That should be a very big deal.
