  1. Amen all. If there is a password to Heaven, I hope it's not case-sensitive or requires "captcha" to enter. Somehow, I don't believe our Father would have me banished to the Lake of Fire over a particular language or pronunciation.
  2. Tough one. Mass media ( as a whole ) and many large corporations have both been shown to engage in "less than" ethical practices.
  3. Amen bopeep. Amen also to both Teditis and Shiloh. I believe the Gospel is both understanding God's love, mercy, and grace, as well as the need for forgiveness THROUGH that love ( which does involve recognition of sin ). Individual conviction of sin comes from God, through understanding.
  4. If I were gay, how would each of you ( Shiloh and Teditis ) present the Gospel to me?
  5. Rick, I am not a Dr. I thought I made that clear, but apologize if I did not. A family member was faced with a similar situation and I was just recalling some of what was told to us. tigger, I am so sorry. I know that you are desperately looking for answers and trusting the Dr.s is not always the greatest comfort. I ( and many others ) have been praying for you and your husband since you first told us about this. Find strength in God, and question those who are put in charge of your husband's care. Make them explain to you the situation and the options.
  6. Have they performed a Schilling test? ( B12 absorption )
  7. Hi tigger, I'm not a medical expert, but I believe it's called pulmonary edema? From what I understand ( personal ) it typically is associated with heart conditions. Is this your husband?
  8. It's His work. We are the clay. I just thank you for being a beloved and malleable lump.
  9. That may or may not serve those who may benefit from your sharing Cletus. I can't say with any certainty ( that is between you and God in my opinion ). I do thank God for sending you to them. How many souls does it take to make a life's work to be effective? My answer? 1
  10. Basically, Mary did as she was told, as have many others. I respect that, as do I God's "choice" in those chosen to fulfill His purpose. I cannot not however, agree that God's blessings are pure "luck". I agree that Mary was blessed. "I believe" we ALL are but not as a matter of chance. Probably just a matter of wording here, but I did want to clarify my personal thoughts. I see no harm in respecting Mary for being a servant of God. I just don't believe her obedience ( or anyone else's ) deserves "special" praise above another's. Unless God has told me to hold her in higher regard than others, that is.
  11. Whew, have a mint (that baited breath is a killer).
  12. Not that I have any interest in arguing ( as I do not ), but I do have a question. Should some folks be revered above others, or should we simply revere God's purpose in them?
  13. My guess (hope) would be, that they will modify the source / content to eventually include the familiar features. Being that I was new here anyway, I guess the changes were not as traumatic for me. (teasing).
  14. I think I've come up with an answer to my question. Since "sin" is a transgression of law, it boils down to the "law" of the authority in question. In this case, the authority is the "state" and no laws are broken through homosexuality. Since I try to make sense of it, I thought I'd share my 2 cents.
  15. Interesting that the "state" now defines sin. I wonder how they arrived at such a definition?
  16. I guess it's a requirement that you "pay to pray" in some places.
  17. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
  18. ".Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive."
  19. How about I just throw a (large) Bible at the attacker? Seriously though, I appreciate everyone's convictions regarding this.
  20. So anyway, "what is the way.. for who died without hearing gospel?" The Bible teaches there is only ONE way, which is God's own mercy through Christ's sacrifice for sin. God is righteous. I hold fast to that FACT, and leave it in His hands. For me to speculate on His judgement would place me in a dangerous place.
  21. Does every topic have to end up being about Catholicism? Perhaps ? Love you all in Christ, and will say no more about it if I am out of order here.
  22. I realize the question wasn't posed to me, but it made me think, and maybe I have misread. Are you saying I would be "wrong" to stop someone from harming my family, unless I also somehow changed abortion laws? I would derive no satisfaction from bringing harm to anyone, and pray I am never prompted to.
  23. "My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry," I try to incorporate that advice and appreciate others who do the same. Passion and zeal have their place, but the spirit behind them should reflect Christ.
