  1. Amen, he is like Peter, he stepped out of the boat....here is the GOOD NEWS, from here on in you can't fail, you have done the necessary bit, it may get awful messy for a while, Peter had to shriek "Lord save, I perish" and he launched himself at Jesus.....but Jesus did save
  2. We are not against ceasing from sin or good works, we believe in that......but first we get saved, in fact you cain't even get on to those things until first you get saved. And salvation is not ceasing from sin and good works it is repentance and faith.
  3. As so many, many times the NIV is awful, it too often is a commentary rather than a translation...the KJV has it right but it means in a little while. Remember this warning is for kings and rulers.
  4. I'm with Jesus, He was Post trib "after the tribulation of those days .......they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds" There are not multiple comings in the clouds this is parallel with 2. Thess.2 It comes not at the beginning of Antichist's career but the end for He will slay Antichrist with the breath of His mouth. ....it was Antichrist who caused the tribulation/persecution
  5. Yes to believe that the church will be in a percieved state of perfection is amiss, nor will she be gathered on account of being perfect, indeed it is impossible for the most of the church has gone before and has gone in a state of imperfection yet we read that the DEAD in Christ will be first to rise. What will happen is that our perfection will be made manifest when the Lord appears for we ARE perfect in Christ, declared to be so by God.
  6. Quite so, the tribulation is also called the time of Jacob's trouble. It is not called Jacob's trouble for any evil happening to Israel, it is the trouble coming upon the nations for the way they have treated the Jews. It is only once mentioned as Jacob's trouble and that is Jeremiah 30 7. Alas for that day is very great so that none is like it. It is even the time of Jacob's trouble but ....he shall be saved out of it. 10. Therefore fear thou not O My servant Jacob saith the Lord, neither be dismayed O Israel for lo I will save thee from afar and thy seed from the land of their captivity and Jacob shall return and shall be IN REST and none shall make him afraid.
  7. Yes FEED the flock, stop beating them, you can't flog sheep, they will just collapse on you and lay down to die, you have to lead them gently, having a mind for the ewes and their newborn, the weak of the flock. Your doctrine cares not for the flock but tears them You present the flock with God as the adversary, you make HIM to be the roaring lion walking around seeking someone to devour.
  8. Yes their punishment was death, PHYSICAL death, you interpret it as damnation...this is the same as the passages in Hebrews
  9. Hi Yes that is quite right, therefore the rapture can only refer to the church for the Jews are going nowhere...we reign with Christ from heaven, they reign with Christ from Jerusalem. They are being gathered [and will be FULLY gathered] to their place in preparation and when Christ comes He will gather us to our place. But the logic also suggests that since we are still in the nations during the reign of Antichrist it is the CHURCH which goes through the tribulation not Israel who will have a pact with Antichrist while he is opposing everything called god...he will oppose YOU. A careful reading of Jeremiah. 30 and Daniel 12 fully bears this out It is the time of Jacob's trouble BUT ...he shall be saved out of it Look closely at Jeremiah for you know that every word in scripture is precise in it's usage These are the words that the Lord spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah For thus saith the Lord we have heard a voice of trembling, of fear and not of peace [BUT WHY? God is asking] Ask ye now and see whether a man doth travail with child? why then do I see every man with his hands on his loins as a woman in travail and all faces turned to paleness? See? It is the woman [the church] who travails not Israel, God's firstborn son. Therefore fear ye not o My servant Jacob saith the Lord, neither be dismayed o Israel for lo I will save thee from afar and thy seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob shall return and shall be in rest and be quiet and none shall make him afraid. This is Israel's full restoration, it is born out in Daniel 12
  10. What if a nation does not have a Jonah to preach to them? billions have never heard the gospel...just bad luck I suppose.
  11. I'm talking about the MILLIONS being saved, their problems have to do with LIFE, the problems we have are the problems of being in the backwater.
  12. I see the 7 year pact broken after 3.5 years the invasion, his sitting in the temple ....instant destruction by the coming of the Lord. So Antichrist's career is the same length of time as the Lord's ministry.
  13. But some have indicated that a homosexual who is saved is a homosexual Christian...no such thing
  14. Matt.24v3 His disciples asked the question and the answer was given to them...one of the signs given was "that this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, then shall the end come" Then in vs 15 the focus turns to Jerusalem because the final drama of Antichrist is played out there in the temple, the abomination of desolation There is safety for Christ's followers at that particular time anywhere in the world...but not in Jerusalem or Judea, they are told to flee. In Matt Jesus is speaking to Jewish disciples in Thess. Paul is speaking to Gentile disciples but the event is the same. There are not 2 comings in the clouds, with angels and trumps and gatherings of the elect.
  15. There is no bias at the cross, no discrimination. ALL may come and receive pardon, their sins washed away. ALL may come and receive new life "if any person be in Christ they are a new creation. old things have passed away behold all things have become new" To say that Homosexuals alone among sinners cannot receive this new life and change and be clean and made holy would be to discriminate.
  16. "Jesus knew from the beginning who it was who did not believe and who would betray Him" "have I not chosen you 12 and one of you is a devil"
  17. But He was prophesying about times when it would be revealed. There is only one gathering of the elect in the clouds of glory. Matt.24 and Thess.2.2 are the same event. Matt.24 happens according to Jesus "after the tribulation" and Thess.2.2 happens at the end of Antichrist's career not the beginning.
  18. You are like Jonah....sat under his broom tree waiting for God to destroy the Ninevites .... but God did not destroy the Ninevites, He had mercy instead.
  19. There you go again. Like a chicken who has been stuck with a hat pin, you go up in a tizzy of indignation, feathers all over the place. Maybe it is all different than the way you see things. God did not create anyone a sinner, a son of perdition, how all men and woman became sinners affects the way you think about everything else. The fact is man chose sin. He chose sin over righteousness evil over good death over life So God has the whole race of sinners before Him, He still is overall Governor of His creation....these matters are too deep for you and for me, why God chose Judas to be the betrayer....the other disciples were sure glad it wasn't them. You said yourself it was in scripture before it happened, before Judas was born. But whether he betrayed or not he was still a sinner....God allotted that it should be him, just like out of a world of sinners He chose to harden Pharoah's heart...out of a world of sinners God raised up Hitler....you don't know why, what God saw in Judas or Pharoah or Hitler that He ordained them to perpetrate the evil that they did. Did you ever hear of FEDERAL HEADSHIP? how God holds leaders responsible or more responsible than people of lesser status God did not predestine sin but foreknowing it He set in motion His plan for dealing with it and for defeating it and triumphing over it. Jesus never sent Judas out alone on any mission, the disciples were sent out in twos...so it is impossible to know if Judas cast out any devils or healed or anything else, I suspect he didn't. I suspect he was behind the case of the lunatic boy who the father brought to the disciples but couldn't do any good...WHY? Because Jesus and the three leading disciples were in the mount, and folks like Judas always take command. He was not saved.
  20. But you have not abided in Him, you now rely upon Him+ your own works But you HAVE drawn back, your position when you were saved was that you were saved solely by Christ's work at the cross But you have not held fast, you have shifted ground away from believing in only the cross None of these scriptures say that salvation is lost, that is YOUR interpretation, they do speak about loss of comfort, blessing, fellowship with the Lord and power....how many sad Christians there are who have lost there first joy, have left their first love.....they are still saved. These scriptures are and exhortation and encouragement to them to return to their firstlove. No those scripture do NOT say they will be lost...YOU say that. The reason these scriptures stand out to you when you read the bible is because they are warning you. Eternal means eternal, everlasting means everlasting, saved means saved.
  21. Judas was never saved....Jesus always knew him for a devil
  22. Christ when He comes in the clouds of glory [as well as gathering His church will destroy Antichrist and [we suppose] those who have come up with him to Jerusalem. The final judgement takes place after the 1,000 years reign. The great tribulation is the period of persecution against the church initiated by Antichrist as he sets himself against every thing called god. Jesus said concerning this Matt. 24. vs 9 onwards "they shall put you to tribulation and kill you and you shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake......vs 29. immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days.....and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with great power and glory and He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather His elect." This is clearly the same as 2.Thess.2 there are not multiple comings in the clouds, Jesus said it is AFTER the tribulation The day of the Lord is the beginning of God's wrath poured out upon the nations.
  23. We hear much about "Jacob's trouble" it is spoken about by that particular name only once in scripture although it is the great tribulation...troublation Because Jeremiah calls it "Jacob's trouble" everyone has gotten the wrong idea, they believe it is a time when God will pound on them Jews until they scream for mercy [I've heard that exact explanation more than once] "Jacob's trouble" is the trouble coming upon the nations of the world on account of their dealings with Jacob, the Jews. God has got a quarrel with the nations. If folks would read the 30th chapter of Jeremiah where the term appears and read carefully they will see that it is the time of Israel's restoration "Alas for that day is very great so that none is like it, it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, BUT he shall be SAVED out of it FEAR NOT o Jacob be not dismayed o Israel for I will SAVE YOU from afar and thy seed from the land of their captivity and Jacob shall return and shall be AT REST and BE QUIET and NONE SHALL MAKE HIM AFRAID" This is confirmed in Daniel ch.12 and verse 1 for it is the time when Michael will stand up for Israel.
