“..God is in your midst..” (Zephaniah 3:17)

I will say “I repent of my sin,” and declare, “Christ has cleansed me of sin.” But Adam and Eve will be held accountable for introducing the virus of sin to mankind. Just as the teacher had harsher judgement, “Not many of you should be teachers my brothers, knowing that we will receive greater judgment,” (James 3:1), and woe to the one whom the tenpting comes through, “What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting/ Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come” (Matthew 18:7). I own my sin, but woe to Adam wnd Eve for who the tenpting/ sinful nature came into the world. When we sin we are guilty, but our nature that desires sin came from our ancestors (Genesis 3). This does not make us exempt for being accountable for sin. Parable: We are a like a computer, the orignal computers A and E downloaded software that had Malware on it which puts a virus in all computers. The individual computers are responsible for clicking on other viruses like Trojan, but the desire to even click on viruses comes from the original Malware. We are responsible for our sins, but the nature that craves to sin originated at the Fall (Genesis 3). At Judgement Day we plead, “we repent,” and Christ declares, “not guilty, they are in my Book (of the Lamb).” Its not about blaming Adam and Eve and trying to avoid our confession, but we cannot ignore from whence Original Sin came from.

“16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:16-20)

I see the internet as a double edged sword, on one hand it allows us to chat right now, look up Bible verses, commentaries and etc, on the other side is the dark web, and as you said a insta-culture that expects to learn something in 3-7mins.

Its in two pieces, we own our sins, they are ours, but the sinful nature came into being in us because of Adam and Eve. We don’t blame Adam and Eve for our sins, but they are culpable, for had they not sinned, we’d be in paradise in Eden eating the fruit of the Tree of Life.

Well Original Sin has been importand to the Church for 2,000yrs. More importantly it is important to salvation. Christ came to reverse the curse that is on us because of Adam and Eve. It is because of Original Sin we were doomed, bit thanks be to God He cane in the flesh to pay for Original Sin with His blood and sacrifice, “But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree” (Galatians 3:13). The curse of sin and its taint from Adam and Eve had to be covered by Christ’s sacrifice: “1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die- 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. 12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned- 13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. 15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. 16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. 17 For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. 20 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21 so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:1-21)

We can hold them acxountable for Original Sin and the sinful flesh they imparted to us. Our personal sinful choices are our own to be held accountable for; however, our susceptibility to sin comes from them, we are their progeny; their D.N.A. flows through all humans. We are accountable for the sin, if we lie being an example but the propensity to lie comes from Original Sin in us because of Adam and Eve’s Fall.

Which is odd because we have nore access to the Bible than ever in history. You can download dozens of apps, get 20 USD or less Bibles or read Bible Websites. In the Reformation peopls died and burned at the stake over resding the Bible in english (James Bainmam) and for publishing it in English (William Tyndale). Now we have bo burning stakes and the Bible for many collects dust on a shelf. Sigh.

Genesis 3: “1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You shall not eat of any tree in the garden'?" 2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, 'You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'" 4 But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. 8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?" 10 And he said, "I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself." 11 He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?" 12 The man said, "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate." 13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." 14 The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. 15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel." 16 To the woman he said, "I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you." 17 And to Adam he said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return." 20 The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. 21 And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them. 22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever-" 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24 He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life. - (Genesis 3:1-24) Romans 5: “8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. How Do You Resist Temptation?
Fidei Defensor replied to johnthebaptist's topic in General Discussion
The Apostle Paul tells us we are never tempted beyond our ability to endure: “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13) Notice “He will provide the way of escape,” it is Christ who shows you how to escape. But God does not tempt us: “When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.” (James 1:13) The Apostle James says temptation stems from: “But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.” (James 1:14) The Apostle John gives us insight into what those desires are: “For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.” (1 John 2:16) -

How Do You Resist Temptation?
Fidei Defensor replied to johnthebaptist's topic in General Discussion
Answer: Jesus Christ, who perfectly resisted temptation and has made atonement for all our sins. -
And yet Scripture singles them out (Romans 5, Genesis 3).
-
Indeed, one who believes in their our own merit tramples on the blood of Christ and grace: “How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace.” (Hebrews 10:29)

We have the taint, it is called death, we all are going to die: “for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Gen. 2: 17). The fruit of sin is death. In this way all mankind is suffering from Adam and Eve’s Original Sin. As well as the sinful flesh inside us all. It is why Christ our Lord said, “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41) Granted Jesus has swallowed up death (eternal death) for us: “Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone. Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had[g] the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.” (Hebrews 2:9, 14-15, NLT) And when He Returns we shall have new bodies and rise from our physical death: “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11, cross ref 1 Corinthians 5)

True, but Original Sin is their fault. We are tainted because of their choice, that taint pulls us towards the flesh choices: “10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 20 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21 so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. - Romans 5:10-21) Thankfully Christ, The Second Adam, The Son of God, and God Incarnate came and has made propitiation for all sin.

If Scriptural, prove it with Scripture.

Well said. I am reminded by Paul of those who think they can be sinless and saved by works: “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose,” (Galatians 2:21) “For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace,” (Galatians 5:4) “4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-by grace you have been saved- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:4-10) “ I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.” (Romans 7:15-20)

What are you trying to say? It reads like an evangelistic post. Jesus is God, is our Savior, is Son of God who is One with the Father and Holy Spirit.,
-
That’s been my question all along. I keep reiterating on Jesus is sinless (1 Peter 2:21-22, 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, Hebrews 4:14-15, and 1 John 3:5).

Ah, I didn’t see the link. I think stories end up telling Christian truths because of what J.R.R. Tolkien once said, “we are all telling the same story, weither people know it or not, its the Bible.”

He actually in Star Trek V: The Final Fromtier (movie) god is a character, albeit its provrn to be a false god as Bones says, “I doubt any god that influcts pain for pleasure,” and I love Kirk’s question to the false diety, “don’t you know my name? Arn’t you God?” and “what does God need with a starship?” Then at the end of the film, Kirk says “I think God is in here,” pointing to his chest and possibly alluding to “Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16) In Star Trek VI: The Undiscoverd Country, Spock tells a female Vulcan that the painting in his quarters is a Creation myth, the Expulsion from Paradise. Which is offensive. In Star Trek Discover Butham says: “Michael Burnham: We are no longer on the eve of battle. Even so, I come to ask myself the same question that young soldier asked the general all those years ago: "How do I defeat fear?" The general's answer: "The only way to defeat fear is to tell it 'No'." No - we will not take shortcuts on the path to righteousness. No - we will not break the rules that protect us from our basest instincts. No - we will not allow desperation to destroy moral authority. I am guilty of all these things. Some say that in life, there are no second chances. Experience tells me that this is true. But we can only look forward. We have to be torchbearers, casting the light so we may see our path to lasting peace. We will continue exploring, discovering new worlds, new civilizations. Yes - that is the United Federation of Planets... Yes - that is Starfleet... Yes, that is who we are... And who we will always be.” I have always felt the mission of starfleet had a Sci-fi ring to it like Great Commission: “Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before!”
