  1. “7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” ( 1 John 1:7-10) “If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.” (1 John 5:16) The Jesus Prayer is in this vein or so I interpret.
  2. Flo welcomes back Secretary of Chickens.
  3. I may move to Buddy’s party. Flo and Gecko are doing well without me.
  4. Very interesting case for ecumenism while staying as seperate denominations: ” It is well known that Pentecost reverses Babel. The people who built the tower of Babel sought to make a name, and a unity, for themselves. At Pentecost, God builds his temple, uniting people in Christ. Unity – interpretive agreement and mutual understanding – is, it would appear, something that only God can accomplish. And accomplish it he does, but not in the way we might have expected. Although onlookers thought that the believers who received the Spirit at Pentecost were babbling (Acts 2:13), in fact they were speaking intelligibly in several languages (Acts 2:8-11). Note well: they were all saying the same thing (testifying about Jesus) in different languages. It takes a thousand tongues to say and sing our great Redeemer’s praise. Protestant evangelicalism evidences a Pentecostal plurality: the various Protestant streams testify to Jesus in their own vocabularies, and it takes many languages (i.e. interpretive traditions) to minister the meaning of God’s Word and the fullness of Christ. As the body is made up of many members, so many interpretations may be needed to do justice to the body of the biblical text. Why else are there four Gospels, but that the one story of Jesus was too rich to be told from one perspective only? Could it be that the various Protestant traditions function similarly as witnesses who testify to the same Jesus from different situations and perspectives?” (Kevin J. Vanhoozer, Biblical Authority After Babel: Retrieving the Solas in the Spirit of Mere Protestant Christianity Tags: biblical-interpretation, christianity, church-unity, ecumenism, pentecost, reformation, goodreads)
  5. Moustafa approves of this message.
  6. CovID becomes self aware and says “resistance is futile.” Borg Queen: That’s our line!
  7. Intriguing. When you have more time walk me through the reasoning. My view is that Satan, fallen angels and the wicked will be tormented forever in the lake of fire, that death and ceasing to exist is too good for them. You hear characters say, “I’m not going to kill him, death is too easy, I am going torment them tell they are begging to die.” Satan has tormented the saints, and in the future he shall never cease from being tortured; he will reap infinity what he sowed against the saints. We do have proof the fire of hell burns souls, “19 "There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.” (Luke 16:19-24) The fire of hell is a element that burns the soul. Dante theorized in The Inferno, that the fire is God’s presence without the protection of Jesus’ blood for sin, he got the idea from, “for our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:29)
  8. I have been bothered by a lack of reverence of the Lord in these times. I heard on a radio yesterday a man who professed to be Catholic/Christian mock Jesus, and I have noticed a trend in movies, and culture at large of irreverence. Yes, the Lord is near to us ans is not a dred lord, He is merciful and kind, having sacrificed Himself on the cross for our sins. But that should make us reverence Him all the more, Paul says, “Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. 33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! 34 "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?" 35 "Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?" 36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. - Romans 11:22, 33-36
  9. I’m a Continuationalist myself who believes rhe Gifts of 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 are for today. Paul even said services are suppose to have the gifts moving: “26 What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. 27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. 28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. 30 If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. 33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints.” - 1 Corinthians 14:26-33
  10. I agree the Athanasian Creed seems a curse, propganda to make people think God is afar when He is near: “27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, 28 for "'In him we live and move and have our being'; as even some of your own poets have said, "'For we are indeed his offspring.” (Acts 17:27-28) ”(for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.” (Hebrews 7:19) “let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” (Hebrews 10:22) ”Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:8)
  11. “Only One Gospel 6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-8 KJV)
  12. A Sabbatarian, very neat. How are you observing the Shabbat during COVID?
  13. @Episcopius what ia your opinion of the Athanasian Creed? I take issue with line 9: “The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Spirit incomprehensible.” (Athanasian Creed) in·com·pre·hen·si·ble /ˌinˌkämprəˈhensəb(ə)l/ Learn to pronounce adjective not able to be understood; not intelligible. "a language that is incomprehensible to anyone outside the office When God lives in us and we live in God (1 John 4:15) how can He not be understood? And Jesus said: “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” (John 17:3) The know is epignosko or ginosko, to know intimately in relationship, even to depth of a man knowing his wife. Other refutations of Line 9 of the Athanasian Creed: ”But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18) “6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (1 John 4:6-8) ”Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8)
  14. Save the Peguins and Chickens! ??????
  15. My favorite Series: 1. Star Trek Voyager Love everything about it, Seven of Nine, Capt. Janeway,Tuvok, best Borg episodes, best planets, new species, and premise: get home. 2. Star Trek Discovery Season I Discovery is definitely Rated R Star Trek with major objectionable content, but it was innovative, how the Discovery travels, and etc. 3. Star Trek The Original Series -Corny to us now, like Adam West’s Batman, but this is where it all started. Leonard Nimoy’s preformance alone is stellar. I have to say I couldn't get into CBS All Access “Picard,” it felt too much like a nostalgic milking of the franchise IMHO. Am not a huge fan of Next Geneneration, felt too dark in certain episodes for my taste. Favorite Films: Star Trek IV: The Journey Home -“Captain there be whales here!” Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country -“To be or not to be..” Star Trek Nemesis -“What am I? An echo?” (Shinzon) When I discovered the talented Tom Hardy. Star Trek: Insurrection -Has some person memories for me. Star Trek (Kelvin Timeline) -Great reboot, Chris Pine is a great Captain Kirk. Star Trek: Beyond (2016) -Highly underrated film. I enjoy planetside missions. My favorite ships: Intrepid Class (Voyager) Enterprise B (Sulu’s Ship) Enterprise C Klingon Bird of Prey Discovery Class
  16. A good reminder from Christ: “38 John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us." 39 But Jesus said, "Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. 40 For the one who is not against us is for us. 41 For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward.” (Mark 9:38-41)
  17. Your journey is amazing. You believe annihilationism: “In Christianity, annihilationism (also known as extinctionism or destructionism)[1] is the belief that those who are wicked will perish or be no more. It states that after the final judgment all unsaved human beings and all fallen angels (all of the damned) and Satan himself will be totally destroyed so as to not exist, or that their consciousness will be extinguished rather than suffer everlasting torment in hell (often synonymized with the lake of fire).,” (annihilationism, Wikipedia). I have to ask how do you reconcile these verses as an annhilationist?: “and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10) “And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15) ”And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.' (Mark 9:47-48)
  18. I believe Jesus our Lord will judge that the Church has in many places stopped serving one another: “ 14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2:14-17) I believe this is love growing cold and a form of godliness: “And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.” (Matthew 24:12) “having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.” ( 2 Timothy 3:5)
  19. Welsh Revival! Fascinating. i am glad you are for the Unity of Faith! I too have worked with many denominations: Assembly of God, Evangelical, Presybeterian, Messianic, Non-denominational, Southern Baptist, Seventh Day-Adventist, and etc. i believe we are One Body in many parts.
  20. Yes he can. I have asked the Lord to erase a painful memory and he did. God can forget, “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." (Hebrews 8:12) God lives in us and we in God: “All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God” (1 John 4:15) Ergo we can ask God who can forget to help us forget because He lives in us and we in Him.
  21. Vote Flo! She will make safe your home.
  22. Very well, we will miss you. ? Have a good run! May the best candidate win.
  23. Star Trek Voyager has an awesome episode about God [Season 4, Episode 21: The Omega Directive], with even Seven of Nine looking at a Crucifix!:
  24. So you no longer want to be Flo’s Secretary of Chickens?
