  1. Greatest divide between Christianity and Catholicism is The Council of Trent where the Bishops Took The Gospel in Scripture and called it Anthema (damnations, damning to hell): “SESSION THE SIXTH, Celebrated on the thirteenth day of the month of January, 1547. DECREE CONCERNING JUSTIFICATION. Council of Trent -Canon XV. If any one shall say, that a man, who is born again and justified, is bound of faith to believe that he is assuredly in the number of the predestinated; let him be anathema. Jesus assures us we are predestined, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:26-30) Paul affirms we are predestined too, “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,” (Ephesians 1:4-5), “For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers, And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” (Romans 8:29-30). -Canon XVI. If any one shall say, that he will for certain, of an absolute and infallible certainty, have that great gift of perseverance unto the end, unless that he have learnt this by a special revelation; let him be anathema. I again refer to Jesus words and Paul’s that assure us eternal security and perseverance (John 10:26-30, Romans 10:9-10) —Canon XXIII. If any one shall say, that a man once justified can sin no more, nor lose grace, and that therefore he that falls and sins was never truly justified; or, on the other hand, that he is able, throughout his whole life, to avoid all sins, even those that are venial, except by a special privilege from God, as the Church holds respecting the Blessed Virgin; let him be anathema. You can’t lose grace, its unmerited favor of God as decided by Council of Jerusalem by The Apostles Peter, Paul, James and Others (Acts 15:1-11), and “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephensians 2:8-9) -Canon XXIX. If any one shall say, that he, who has fallen after baptism, is not able by the grace of God to rise again; or, that he is able indeed to recover the justice lost, but by faith alone, without the sacrament of penance, contrary to what the holy Roman and universal Church, instructed by Christ and his apostles, has hitherto professed, observed and taught; let him be anathema. The Sacrament of Penance is Congreous Merit that a person does for their sins, but Christ died for all sins for all time, “And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all,” (Hebrews 10:10), “For then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him,” (Hebrews 9:26-28), “He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption”, (Hebrews 9:12). -Canon IX. If any one shall say, that by faith alone the impious is justified; so as to mean that nothing else is required to co-operate in order unto the obtaining the grace of justification, and that it is not in any respect necessary that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will; let him be anathema. Scriptural Rebuttal: “become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.” (Philippians 3:9) “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephensians 2:8-9) “But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,” (Hebrews 10:12) -Canon XI. If any one shall say, that men are justified either by the sole imputation of the righteousness of Christ, or by the sole remission of sins, to the exclusion of the grace and the charity which is shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Ghost and is inherent in them; or even that the grace, by which we are justified, is only the favour of God; let him he anathema. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21) “whom God jput forward as propitiation lby his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over nformer sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” (Romans 3:25-26) “But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,” (Hebrews 10:12) —Canon XII. If any one shall say, that justifying faith is nought else but confidence in the divine mercy which remits sins for Christ’s sake; or that it is this confidence alone by which we are justified; let him be anathema. Scriptural Rebuttal: “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13-14) “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:1-2) “whom God jput forward as propitiation lby his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over nformer sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” (Romans 3:25-26) “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1) “Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this Man (Jesus Christ) forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.” (Acts 13:38-39) “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” (Ephesians 1:7) “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence,” (Ephensians 3:12) “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need,” (Hebrews 4:16) —Canon XXX. If any one shall say, that, after the grace of justification received, unto every penitent sinner the guilt is so remitted, and the penalty of eternal punishment so blotted out, that there remains not any penalty of temporal punishment, to be discharged either in this world, or in the next in purgatory, before the entrance to the kingdom of heaven can be laid open; let him be anathema. Purgatory doesn’t exist, we live and when we die we are judged, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27), and we are judged solely on this, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. [18] Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (John 3:16-18). The Council of Trent is still in effect, and laid into official decree Catholic beliefs long held, and still held, thus it cannot be reformed or discarded by the RCC or else call into question their long held doctrines. Ths Council of Trent condemns the true gospel in Scripture according to apostle’s teaching. Which means the Catholic Church is not Christ’s Church, and is accursed for preaching a different gospel, “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8-9) Trent rends us Protestants and Catholics asunder forever.
  2. Jesus is the Lord (God of Israel), He is God Incarnate, He is The Second Person of the Trinity, He is Son of God, He is Christ/ Messiah, He is Word of God, He is Savior, He is the Bridegroom, He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
  3. The Flames (Tongues of Fire) were a spiritual sign, but never did the Lord say, “if you are baptized in Spirit ye shall always see tongues of fire.” The Lord can manifest mysteries or not. He is God, so he can decide if someone needs to see Tongues of Fire, or feel a unique heart beat or nothing at all.
  4. Yes you can pray for anything (that is that does ‘t contradict God’s character and commands), “Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” (John 14:14)
  5. Do you have any of those magazines left you could take snap shots of since they arn’t in circulation anymore? I’d been interested to read Phillip Powell. Ah yes, I chose Fidei Defensor because in Seminary they called me an Apologist, and I am always ready to give an account for my hope, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” (1 Peter 3:15), and defend the gospel with Scripture.
  6. Ah yes Tongues, and perhaps Tongues of Angels. (1 Corinthians 12:4-9, 1 Corinthians 13:1). I believe in them as Continuationalist, that The Gifts of the Spirit are for today.
  7. Oh that is exciting that Agony cones from Agon! That is probably why in Early Middle Ages the people viewed Jesus as War-Lord of And the Cross is his Sword to conflict and conquer sin; so they probably better understood Agony as conflict. Indeed Brother, we are told to follow Christ is a cross, “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23), and there are surpassing joys with Him, but also trials, for the apostle warns us if we seek to live godly in Christ we shall be persecuted, “Yea, and all that will live a godly life in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). Christ also as you I am sure know mentioned that we would be betrayed and suffer, and that we must hold fast to the end, “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:13) and “This means that God’s people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12). I have great concern for brethren who have not accepted the fact that being a Christian has much Agon and Agony. That there is joy and great contentment and purpose, and hope, but also tempests, trials, and tribulations.
  8. Amen! Solus Christus!: “Solus Christ: Through the atoning work of Jesus Christ alone, apart from individual works, and that Christ is the only mediator between God and man. It holds that salvation cannot be obtained without Christ.” (Solus Christus, Wilipedia)
  9. “They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God's Spirit in them. But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, 21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life.” -Jude 1:18-21
  10. The Church of England won’t define what a woman is: https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/cwn/2022/july/church-of-england-wont-give-a-definition-of-a-woman-blames-complexities-of-gender-identity Does this mean Anglican Bibles will omit Adam’s words?, “The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” (Genesis 2:23)
  11. So then Is Agony tied to Agon? Agony is defined as The Last stages of difficult and painful death like Jesus on the cross. But if Agon was the word, it would mean conflict of death, which invokes very different images. Intriguing.
  12. I still say the physical yoga poses honor their gods and spiritism. Would we pose in say the Sigil of Satan and say, “oh its just for exercising?” Absolutely not. “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” -1 Thessalonians 5:22, KJV
  13. Do you ever use other languages in prayer and praise? It can be a single world or full sentence. Examples: Latin: Laud Tu, Laudate Jesum! One and All Praise Jesus! Greek: Christos Αnesti ek nekron! Christ is Risen from the dead!”. Hebrew: Baruch Hashem Adonai Latin/Hebrew: Gloria Immanuel Hebrew: Yeshua Shalom Iesu Salvator Mundi (Jesus Savior of the World)
  14. “He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” -Revelation 22:20
  15. Glad they are blessing you @B-B:) “Jesus, Thy blood and righteousness, my beauty are, my glorious dress; Midst flaming worlds in these arrayed, with joy shall I lift up my head.” -Count Zinzendorf
  16. Well I believe in priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:5-6). I made the case in an earlier post that Constantine rebuilt the priestly caste that dominates liturgical churches. I brought up the Bridegroom to make clear Jesus is not just The High Priest, people read this thread as visitors and members who may not know these truths, I wanted to make that clear Jesus is not just a Priest to us Christians. So you do you believe in Liturgical Priesthood then? Where does it say in Scripture that the Apostles or their disciples called themselves priests exclusively? They do call themselves and all believers priests, but that is different than the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and other church models of liturgical priests. Rabbi my model? I have quoted Jesus saying “be not called Rabbi,” (Matthew 23:8) and I am simply sticking with God Breathed Scriptures (Sola Scriptura, 2 Timothy 3:16). Rabbis do not stick to Scripture alone, they trust in The Torah, The Talmud (commentaries), some in them in The Midrash (mystical books, Kabala) and all of them in Holy Tradition. Comparing my method to Rabbis is unfounded. My method is more Martin Luther, and Pauline (St. Paul).
  17. “I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess.“ -Martin Luther
  18. I think the Jewish lunar calendar is close to how old planet is. Though in Israel they just made a find that was 7,000yrs old.
  19. Indeed. Its connected as I laid out in a former post to Hindu gods and Buddhist spiritism. Yoga means “yoke,” yoking you to these spirits. I’d advise you renounce Yoga its spirituality and spirits (demons, fallen angels) on the Name of Jesus Christ, and have nothing more to do with Yoga. Don’t feel bad. I was into Samurai and Bushido, thinking I could embrace it like Western Knighthood and Chivalry. I had the Daito (Katana), Wakasashi, and Tando sword set in my room. I began to become very depressed, a cloud of death and heaviness on me; which is because Samurai observe Seppuku, a suicide ritual and other cult of death spirituality (which came from Korea). I had a lady in my church, a elder and prayer warrior who noticed the cloud over me and prayed God to deliver me. I threw all Samurai stuff out and all the darkness & depression lifted. Turned out there was a coin/talisman, double headed dragon/fish in the weaved handle too, which most Samurai swords have So when I speak of eastern serpents slithering in, I speak from experience.
  20. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” -1 Corinthians 13:4-8
  21. He is more than High Priest, He is the Bridegroom (John 3:29, Mark 2;19-20) and we The Bride of Christ (Revelation 19:7-9, Revelation 21:2, Isaiah 54:5, 2 Corinthians 11:2). We are to intimately know (ginosko, epignosko) Jesus in personal relationship (John 17:3, Philippians 3:8). He is not some distant priest, but is close and near to us, living inside us (Colossians 1:27, Ephesians 3:17), and we in Him (1 John 4:15, Romans 8:1). The Law is obsolete, an old covenant, “By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.” (Hebrews 8:13) The Law is fulfilled in Christ: “For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:3-4) Because the Law is the power of sin: “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57) Minster means: attend to the needs of (someone) Which fits with Jesus saying “you shall be called servants,” (Matthew 23:11, Mark 9:35) To Minister is to Serve one another. Its not a title. Jesus forbade such titles, “But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called teachers, for you have one teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” (Matthew 23:8-12)
  22. The fuller context is never make a vow, “Don’t make a vow using the name of the earth, because the earth belongs to him.Don’t make a vow using the name of Jerusalem, because it also belongs to him, the great King. And don’t even say that your own head is proof that you will keep your promise. You cannot make one hair on your head white or black. Say only ‘yes’ if you mean ‘yes,’ and say only ‘no’ if you mean ‘no.’ If you say more than that, it is from the Evil One..” (Matthew 5:35-37), and “But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.” (James 5:12)
  23. Greek was the universal language of New Testament era, akin to how French was a universal language, and English is today. The Disciples chose to use the language Jews and Gentiles all knew well, so as to reach as many for the Gospel as possible.
  24. In the Slavic Churches they use the Byzantine cross: The foot rest beam that Jesus put his feet on is titled. The part tilting up represents the Thief on the Cross who asks Christ to remember him in Paradise (Luke 23:40-43), while the titled down beam represents the other thief who mocks Jesus (Luke 23:39). At the cross we see the two responses, the repentant who asks Jesus to be saved and the ridiculer who mocks.
