  1. Don't listen to anyone here who says, "Try harder to overcome sexual bondage". The truth is... Break the cycle by understanding the four-part willpower noose cycle: 1. Root of bondage a. Early sex exposure/early sex imprinting, father wounds, abuse 2. Shame mindset a. Guilt “I did wrong” > Shame “I’m wrong” > shame is who you see yourself to be b. Feel worthless and inadequate, anger is a secondary emotion, the primary is fear, but almost always sexual bondage is eroticized rage . . . men’s rage seen in pornography 3. Binge, purge, wait a while, binge (to numb shame) a. Addiction is to feel euphoric or feel nothing, avoids feeling pain (but increases pain) b . Triggering > Ritual > Acting out > Triggering Cycle, like a coke addict who sees a $20 bill 4. Cloak of denial with others a. Habit key = Identity, I am not ashamed 5. The works noose pushes it all deeper The best thing to do when the urge strikes is NOT to "try harder, pray harder, repent harder" but to say aloud, "Lord Jesus, you love me!" or if it helps, "Lord Jesus, do you love me!" Salvation is not by "trying hard" and "trying harder" but by leaning on the love and care of Christ--His death, His blood, His resurrection! Try this, "Jesus, you LOVE ME!" and start exploring the root wounds you hold. Sex sin starts as a moral issue but is always rooted in past non-sexual woundings.
  2. It's not a sin to desire companionship and intimacy. It is sinful to have homosexual relations, polygamy, paedophilia, etc. No, homosexuality isn't a dead weight to be carried but a burden to be lifted. People MUST change as many with wives and children claim they are homosexual, how did they have children...?
  3. We can test God that He exists - taste and see His goodness We can test Jesus that He's truth - does our Law judge a man before it hears what He says? We can test God in the tithe - an old favorite when atheists say "prove God exists" is "Tithe!"
  4. 1) That sounds like he didn't do this for money, when he first shared the vision/experience. 2) Anyone who joins a church or fellowship because one person had one spiritual experience is sad! You join a church for sound teaching, solid fellowship, etc. -- and a good church has tons of healings and valid experiences, too!
  5. The measure for any such testimony: is it biblical or unbiblical? The measure for any such person: with men coming to his fellowship, is he using the story to gather men solely for fellowship or to make dollars? Is there a reason Jesus would choose to not appear to someone, to save their marriage or comfort a divorcee?
  6. You are right, I'm a Christian Jew and wish there were more of us for fellowship. When you witness to Jewish people, be sure to read to them Isaiah 53, then ask them who the chapter speaks of--they will usually say, "Jesus, but I don't believe the New Testament," then you can tell them you were reading from the Hebrew scriptures the prophecies of Isaiah, 700 years before Jesus was born! Thank you.
  7. A good example. My fellow Jews say I'm not Jewish for trusting in Christ, that is, the Jewish Messiah!
  8. I was going to say "NO!" even just seeing the headline. I'm 50 now and have recently begun: * an annual tour leading saints to Israel * discipleship and evangelism for young people * new commitments for new missions groups combating sex trafficking and abortion It's not too late--indeed, you will carry a fount of wisdom the young missionaries lack--maybe the zeal is a little lacking for you now, but not the wisdom. The wisdom is LIFE!
  9. We Jews are a minority, and like the minority of true born again Christians, persecuted. The world hardly ever listens to anything Israel or the Jewish people claim or believe.
  10. Trust Jesus! Then judgment lasts a few days between a feast and the millennial kingdom!
  11. Some other valid reasons: 1) As an example of how bad sin is 2) As a ransom from Satan's kingdom 3) To demonstrate God's love for us 4) To fulfill prophecies about who the Messiah is/would be 5) To empathize with the hurting and marginalized 6) Etc. the greatest event ever!
  12. Satan didn't destroy Job's life, he had a long life. God does allow trials for ALL people, not just some people. It is not out of character for God to allow trials in our lives. It is part of God's character to test people.
  13. Jesus is God in the NT. Would you like references for this doctrine?
  14. I hope the writers you are referring to aren't NT writers--would you like verses/sources explaining how the NT writers clearly recognized Jesus as God?
  15. In Auschwitz, rarely prisoners would claim the number of another in execution, and die on their behalf. Jesus, being God, died for everyone--not just one other person. Trust Jesus and receive atonement (payment for, satisfaction for) your sin.
  16. Sounds like you will have to pray on bigger issues than a difficult friend. Have you discussed finding a born again, Bible-believing fellowship with your husband, so you both can attend? He's gone to church at times, so why don't you find a good church and then simply tell him you'd like to go to church with him?
  17. Coincidence--he has none of the key markers of Antichrist. His father's name was also changed from the original, Drumpf.
  18. "Unconditional" can be overused. Forgive a spouse who beats you but separate from the spouse--which is not divorce--until they go to anger counseling.
  19. If a person needs alms and you give it to them, they know about it, and it can be kept secret from others. Don't confuse Jesus's encouragements to have a lifestyle of anonymous giving--and avoiding boasting in giving--with some kind of laws people need to follow for salvation.
  20. Are you a born again Christian? Is your husband? Is his friend? Those three answers will reflect in what is best to do. But it is upsetting that a husband won't talk with his wife about a relationship outside the marriage. However, are you asking about the friend or getting into fights about the friend?
  21. Yes and yes. Why? Have you personally trusted Jesus, not yourself, to save your soul, paying for your sin?
  22. Help me understand what you believe: 1) The OT was written to different people groups 2) The NT was written only to Christian believers 3) This is true, though 75% of the NT or more is explaining/expanding on the OT 4) You are not willing to believe that Matthew 24/25, where, for example, Jesus says the Jewish people will meet His Return in person, could possibly be written to Jews 5) You are willing to say OSAS is wrong because of parables and other sections that people have debated for years, but will not support a clear doctrinal statement like, "He who trusts God HAS eternal life and does NOT get judged, but has ALREADY passed out of death into ETERNAL life." -- John 5:24 Please have the last word here--I don't think I can help because rather than explain the Bible back to me, you keep saying I'm a false teacher. I will, however, continue any discussion that is better than "you have to understand the whole Bible, not just the 150 verses you mentioned to me."
  23. All, Please be civil. Let's discuss as brothers and sisters, our fight is spiritual, not carnal!
  24. The Old Testament Law addresses the church? Many other examples can be given. There is "no need to address the unsaved"? Why do I give them Bibles to read?
