Addictions, bad and good........tattoos of Bible verses; thoughts?
Hopefully replied to farouk's topic in General Discussion
Hello, for me I don’t think about if it’s ladylike. I just try to remember the guidance I received on tattoos when I read about it in the Bible. I just stick with that no matter what anyone says. -
How Many People Realize Matthew 11:28?
Hopefully replied to Walter and Deborah's topic in General Discussion
I live by this verse and go to Jesus for rest. -
I think each person is to watch for the signs we have been given in the Bible, and we show that we are watching by the way we live. ““Someone might say to you at that time, ‘Look, there is the Messiah!’ Or someone else might say, ‘There he is!’ But don’t believe them. False messiahs and false prophets will come and do great miracles and wonders, trying to fool the people God has chosen, if that is possible. Now I have warned you about this before it happens. “Someone might tell you, ‘The Messiah is there in the desert!’ But don’t go into the desert to look for him. Someone else might say, ‘There is the Messiah in that room!’ But don’t believe it. When the Son of Man comes, everyone will see him. It will be like lightning flashing in the sky that can be seen everywhere.” Matthew 24:23-27 Sorry if I misunderstood the question.

Here is my favorite: “You can go to God Most High to hide. You can go to God All-Powerful for protection. I say to the Lord, “You are my place of safety, my fortress. My God, I trust in you.” God will save you from hidden dangers and from deadly diseases. You can go to him for protection. He will cover you like a bird spreading its wings over its babies. You can trust him to surround and protect you like a shield. You will have nothing to fear at night and no need to be afraid of enemy arrows during the day. You will have no fear of diseases that come in the dark or terrible suffering that comes at noon. A thousand people may fall dead at your side or ten thousand right beside you, but nothing bad will happen to you! All you will have to do is watch, and you will see that the wicked are punished. You trust in the Lord for protection. You have made God Most High your place of safety. So nothing bad will happen to you. No diseases will come near your home. He will command his angels to protect you wherever you go. Their hands will catch you so that you will not hit your foot on a rock. You will have power to trample on lions and poisonous snakes. The Lord says, “If someone trusts me, I will save them. I will protect my followers who call to me for help. When my followers call to me, I will answer them. I will be with them when they are in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. I will give my followers a long life and show them my power to save.”” Psalms 91:1-16

Addictions, bad and good........tattoos of Bible verses; thoughts?
Hopefully replied to farouk's topic in General Discussion
When I got my tattoos I had never read about it in the Bible and didn’t give any of them a second thought. Once I read it I stopped so I never had any guilt about my tattoos. In anything we do, if we feel it’s wrong to do then it is wrong to do even if other people say it’s okay, and vice versa. God knows the heart regardless of what we do is what I’m trying to say. -
Who managed to quit smoking? or is trying to quit?
Hopefully replied to farouk's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I’m surprised you’re still asking this. I scurried to the last page looking for an update. Me I quit smoking in 2016 by vaping and I still vape. I did quit even vaping for 2 months but stupidly started again. -
Addictions, bad and good........tattoos of Bible verses; thoughts?
Hopefully replied to farouk's topic in General Discussion
I have 7 tattoos but when I read: “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:28 I know that I am not bound to the law and that not getting tattoos won’t save me. I know that faith is what counts not works. when I read that verse in my heart it made me feel that getting tattoos was wrong. So, I repented and never got another one. When God looks at my heart and the parts of me that nobody else can see, he sees that I believe getting tattoos wrong so it is wrong for me. I have not gone through the pain of getting them removed because God has removed them, but I say this to anyone asking about tattoos. I also learned more about how you can’t judge people by how they look. Some Saved people have tattoos even. I enjoy this lesson because it causes me to try to treat everyone as a child of God, no matter what I see about them. -
Learning to share God's word in Spanish . . .
Hopefully replied to com7fy8's topic in General Discussion
I took Spanish several years but never became fluent. I remember some things. You just corrected me here because all these years I was remembering “Encantada” as likewise, but it means nice to meet you. the response to Encantada is igualmente. thanks for the refresher lol -
It destroys. “My brothers and sisters, not many of you should be teachers. I say this because, as you know, we who teach will be judged more strictly than others. We all make many mistakes. A person who never said anything wrong would be perfect. Someone like that would be able to control their whole body too.” James 3:1-2 “The time will come when people will not listen to the true teaching. But people will find more and more teachers who please them. They will find teachers who say what they want to hear. People will stop listening to the truth. They will begin to follow the teaching in false stories.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4 I may be misunderstanding the question. If you mean something like a nonbeliever teaching someone not to steal or kill - seems good on the surface like it would improve society. For this example I don’t see how it would affect the church. I don’t see how any non believer doing something Christ would approve of would destroy Christians. they should be happy to see it. After all do we know if others are actually saved anyway?

death reigned from Adam to Moses and then what?
Hopefully replied to DeighAnn's topic in General Discussion
This did not happen. I can’t discuss this scenario. I probably misunderstand and thought you just wanted a simple answer to the question. I am back from a long break from here and plan to keep things as light and simple as possible on my end. Thank you for even wanting to hear what I would have to say. -
A simple question .......... or maybe not.
Hopefully replied to FJK's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I would ask him to please never leave me so that I can make it out alive. -
death reigned from Adam to Moses and then what?
Hopefully replied to DeighAnn's topic in General Discussion
Before Moses death reign because nobody could keep the law. It did not reign afterwards because Jesus paid for sin for anyone who believes he died for them. Death reign over unsaved and not over the saved for same reason. -
Do actively drinking alcoholics (drunkards) go to Heaven?
Hopefully replied to Not of the World's topic in General Discussion
“But this is what the Scriptures say about being made right through faith: “Don’t say to yourself, ‘Who will go up into heaven?’” (This means “Who will go up to heaven to get Christ and bring him down to earth?”) “And don’t say, ‘Who will go down into the world below?’” (This means “Who will go down to get Christ and bring him up from death?”) This is what the Scripture says: “God’s teaching is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart.” It is the teaching of faith that we tell people. Yes, the Scriptures say, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed.”” Romans 10:6-8, 11 -
“Also, the Spirit helps us. We are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us, speaking to him with feelings too deep for words. God already knows our deepest thoughts. And he understands what the Spirit is saying, because the Spirit speaks for his people in the way that agrees with what God wants.” Romans 8:26-27 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5

I thought that is what this post was about. Must have misunderstood
-
To me when people ask questions that are clearly spelled out in the Bible, needing no further explanation, I assume they don’t agree with what they read and are looking for others to comfort them in their disagreement.
-
Isaiah 53 is clearly talking about Jesus. Some people do not want to believe Isaiah 53 is taking about Jesus. Keep on telling the good news to whoever wants to hear it.
-
One example I can think of for a wicked person is one who has more than one account on the same social media yet posts as if they were different people. This falls under the category of a liar and deceiver.

What a rotten thing to do to someone. Sorry that happened to you.

When the Bible is translated to the Chinese or say Islamic language, what version is it translated from? If anyone knows.
-
I would remember this: “People will say to you, ‘Look, there it is!’ or ‘Look, here it is!’ Stay where you are; don’t go away and search. “When the Son of Man comes again, you will know it. On that day he will shine like lightning flashes across the sky.” Luke 17:23-24

“God judges everyone the same. It doesn’t matter who they are. People who have the law and those who have never heard of the law are all the same when they sin. People who don’t have the law and are sinners will be lost. And, in the same way, those who have the law and are sinners will be judged by the law. Hearing the law does not make people right with God. They will be right before him only if they always do what the law says. Those who are not Jews don’t have the law. But when they naturally do what the law commands without even knowing the law, then they are their own law. This is true even though they don’t have the written law. They show that in their hearts they know what is right and wrong, the same as the law commands, and their consciences agree. Sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done wrong, and this makes them guilty. And sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done right, and this makes them not guilty. All this will happen on the day when God will judge people’s secret thoughts through Jesus Christ. This is part of the Good News that I tell everyone.” Romans 2:11-16

Q&A: Can Bitterness Keep Me Out of Heaven?
Hopefully replied to Close_to_Jesus's topic in General Discussion
Has anyone ever heard cardi b’s song WAP? If not search the lyrics. When this song went #1 she thanked God for it, as many celebrities doing things God does not approve of do. Since she thanked God we can assume she “believes” in God. If she sees no reason to change the messages she puts out is she ok since she “believes” in God? Faith without works is truly dead.
