  1. I like the old proverb: Grace is getting something do not deserve and Mercy is NOT getting something you do deserve. I think of God's grace as His loving kindness towards sinners. For while we were sinners and haters of God, He paid the ultimate price for our redemption and has given us all the opportunity to repent and turn to him for his mercy and forgiveness and also to become His Sons and Daughters of his eternal Kingdom.
  2. The Seat of Moses was a place where the Torah/Law was read to the congregation word for word and unadulterated. Synagogues had a separate place or podium where they would teach or commentate on what was read from the Law and would add their own thoughts and interpretations, but Jesus specifically says Seat of Moses. What Jesus was saying is obey the Torah and Law but don't follow that actions and doctrines of the Pharisees who contradict and outright disobey the Law. Then understood they how that he bade [them] not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. - Mat 16:12 KJV
  3. I imagine there are going to be many people in his Kingdom that we would never have thought will be there and vise versa there were be many who we thought should be there but are not. God and him alone is will be the judge of who enters his Kingdom. He will expose everyone's deeds, thoughts, words on that great day good or bad.
  4. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. - 1Co 13:12 I suspect that we all only know in part and not perfect in our understanding of God and his ways. If someone told me that they were 100% accurate in their theology and have everything figured out I would get away as far as I could from that person, because they are headed disasters fall. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their craftiness," and again, "The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, and its all worthless" - 1Co 3:18-20
  5. Nice Christmas story, but I would not consider the Savior of the World a lost sheep that needed to be found. I would think it would be their other way around. He is the good Shepard.
  6. Panama Canal was built and paid for by the US, yet Panama is using it to over charge US to use it which is a vital trade route to the US economy. Agreed this is what Trump said: Speaking to supporters in Arizona during an event organized by Turning Point USA, Trump criticised Panama for charging “excessive rates” to use the canal. "President-elect Trump demanded Panamanian authorities either lower fees for U.S. ships to transit the Panama Canal, or return its control to the United States." “Has anyone ever heard of the Panama Canal?” he asked rhetorically. “We’re being ripped off like we are everywhere else. If the principles, both moral and legal, of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us, in full, quickly, and without question.” “We’re being ripped off” US President-elect Donald Trump has suggested that the United States might reclaim the Panama Canal, citing rising tariffs and potential Chinese influence. This provocative statement revives discussions about the canal’s tumultuous history — from its American-led construction to its transfer to Panama in 1999 — and the geopolitics of one of the world’s most vital trade arteries https://www.firstpost.com/explainers/donald-trump-threatens-to-take-back-panama-canal-history-controversy-13846887.html
  7. Agreed about spirits of the Nephilim becoming the unclean spirits/demons that now plague the world as Enoch clearly describes, but I think that should be for another topic. It can not be the fallen angels because they are locked away in everlasting chains under darkness until the great day of Judgement. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. - Jde 1:6
  8. According to Gen 6. After the fall of Adam and Eve eventually sin corrupted all of earth's creation including animals. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. ... The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. - Gen 6:7, 11-12 KJV God made man to be the ruler and keeper over all God's earthly creation which includes the animal kingdom. Animals were subjected to the authority of Adam (man) just as man is subjected the the authority of God. When man rebelled and sinned against God's authority this in turn effected Adam's (man's) authority and rulership over God's creation and this is why all flesh became corrupted to include animals. The word corruption means: to defile, to pervert, to ruin, to destroy, to corrupt, to spoil, to decay, to error, to change from good to bad, to make impure.
  9. Not sure. It seems God still referred to Jacob as Jacob long after he gave him the name Israel in both the old and new testament references. It also seems that was the case with (Simon) Peter. Where sometimes Jesus called him Simon others times Peter.
  10. Agreed. Its not what you think or who you say you are but who you actually are, you are known by your fruit. There are many who think they are Christian but its not who they really are because they do not produce the true fruits of a repentant born again life. Yes, they may go to a church but they do not produce the God kind of fruit associated with being born again, sadly many of them are pastors and elders in churches; blind leading the blind. They profess to know him but in their actions deny him. These people have never fully repented and fully committed their all to God but fell back into their old sinful ways and have never experienced the true spiritual resurrection of being born again.
  11. According to Book of Daniel he will be somewhat of an humanist atheist: He will show no regard for the religion of his ancestors [Daniel 11:37] He will not honor any god at all[except for himself/]secular humanist [Daniel 11:37] He will have no regard or the desire for women": He will either be asexual or homosexual [Dan 11:37] He will claim to be greater than any god [Daniel 11:36-37; 2 Thess 2:4] He will claim to be God [2 Thessalonians 2:4] Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. - Dan 11:37
  12. The sacrifices were stopped in 70AD with the destruction of the Temple and desolation of Jerusalem. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under [her] wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. - Mat 23:37-38 All the prophecies you mentioned about rebuilding the temple where in reference to the 2nd temple. All of these prophecies were after the destruction of the 1st Temple and before the rebuilding of the 2nd Temple. God is not going to reinstitute animal sacrifices for sin atonement. As stated in Hebrews 10: The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared. But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God, "You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer. You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin. Then I said, 'Look, I have come to do your will, O God--as is written about me in the Scriptures.'" First, Christ said, "You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them" (though they are required by the law of Moses). ... But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand. - Heb 10:1-8, 12 Why would God reinstitute animal sacrifices for sin when they were imperfect and only a shadow of what was to come? God offered his Son as the ultimate sacrifice for sin for ALL TIME and God is not going to reestablish an imperfect system for sin atonement and nullify the sacrifice of his Son. His sacrifice for sin was good for all time meaning past, present, and future.
  13. I am not familiar with most of those, maybe before my time. I have been to a Chi-Chi's but have not seen one in awhile and we have A&W near my house. Anybody remember Shoney's or Krystal's? Not sure if they are around anymore.
  14. If that were true, we would have a contradiction of scripture, how do you rationalize the following?: The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. Then he said, "Look, I have come to do your will." He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. For God's will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand. ... And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. - Heb 10:1-12, 18
