  1. Ron Cantor runs a very good Messianic Jewish ministry. A good resource to Jews and Christians alike.
  2. Herod's Temple doesn't count. It was built as an extension to the existing temple that was there and was used to worship false gods. It was where the mosque is located today. The book of Josephus records that Herod leveled the existing temple down to the foundations and laid another foundation.
  3. You're missing any understanding about the relation of the shemita to all your calcualtions. Because of this........... I'm out. (shark tank metaphor)
  4. Okay. Well according to the Bible some people claim is all you need. Messiah said the Spirit of God would come and make himself at home within your heart, if you would just open it for him. He would intimately get to know you. That's the problem I see with Christianity today, they place the authority of the word in a book instead of on the actual relationship between us and God. The latter was expressed numerous times, the former not so much. I have been developing an intimate relationship with the God of Yisrael from my youth. He's used many tools, the bible is one of them. But my faith understands that Messiah sent the Spirit to dwell within us, not a book to be translated throughout time by men and their doctrines.
  5. Michael is a created being...... Jesus is not..... so they can't be the same. angels are created beings and Jesus is not.... so he can't be an angel. How do you understand this from the book of hebrews? Did God not created a body within a virgin to be born as the Messiah? I don't believe Messiah was an angel. And I understand he existed before the world began. But did his body? Was not his body created like us, in human form? Though his Spirit was before creation, the Holy one. Shimshon, Many times people do not know who is being talked about, because most copiers of the scriptures use the same word, lord, for both Jesus and God. At Luke 4:18 Jesus was saying that the Lord GOD anointed him. It is very hard to explain anything to a person who does not believe what the Bible says. What exactly do you think it means to the the Firstborn. It means you are the first born to an individual, and in the case the First of God' creations, exactly as the Bible says at Col. 1:15, and Rev 3:14, the beginning of God's creation. You either believe the word of God or you do not, but the Bible says to trust in God with all your heart, Prov 3:5,6, do no believe what men say to you, if it disagrees with the Bible, Jere 17:5, Ps 146:3,4. At 1Thes 4:15 Jesus is the lord mentioned there, and then in verse 16, he has the voice of The Archangel, why then do you believe Jesus is not the Archangel?? When Jesus was in heaven he had a spiritual body the same a God has, that is why Jesus is said to have been in the form of God, Jesus was in a spiritual form. The Bible tells us that Jesus was made lower than the Angels when he came to earth, Heb 2:9. Then we are told that Jesus was exalted by God for what he did for us, taking the form of a man, and giving his life, Phil 2:6-11. Jesus could not be exalted if he still had a human body, and the scriptures tells that when he died he was put to death in the flesh and made alive in the spirit. Jesus was exalted to a higher position than he was before, to the glory of God the Father, Phil 2:11. Jesus asked for the Father to restore him to the Glory he had before he was flesh and that is what happened.... What you are saying here boils down to Jesus being a created entity and I disagree with that. Jesus is actually Yahweh of the old testament. Shimshon, I have around 40 different Bibles and all say the same thing, the Jesus was the beginning of God's creations. Why is it you have decided not to believe the written word of God?? Do nt be like the Jews recorded at Rom 10:1-3, where they were trying to establish there own righteousness instead of listening to the word of God. The written word of God is to help people understand what God wants for all His people. No one can hope to gain salvation if they deny the Bible, because God's Holy Spirit carried the writers along as they wrote, making sure that what was written was accurate, 2Tim 3:16,17, 2Pet 1:20,21. As Jesus being the same person as Yahweh, please read what is recorded at Dan 6:13,14, where God, Yahweh, was sitting on His throne and Jesus was brought in before Him, to receive kingly power, as King of God's Kingdom. Please explain to me how a person is sitting on a throne and he, himself is brought in before himself. This same thing is also recorded at Rev 5:2-7, here Jesus, athe Lamb of God come in before God sitting on His throne and takes a book from the hand of God. If you have access to a Bible that has God's name in it, as His name was in the Origialn Autographs, you will see at Ps 110:1 that, as written by David, God said to my lord, Jesus for him to sit at God's right hand until He puts all his enemies as his footstool. As you can see by these verses, God was giving instructions to Jesus. By the way, God's name was symbolized by The Tetragrammaton, YHWH, or JHVH. This name may have been pronounced Yahweh in Hebrew, but the name is most often translated, in English, as Jehovah. The name Jehovah was put on many coins in the past, for several hundred years. This name was also on the fronts of many houses, especially in Germany and surrounding nations, whose people were Christians long before The United States was born. Jesus Christ IS YHWH to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:11) Here is how; Yeshayahu 45 18 For thus says ADONAI (YHVH), who created the heavens, God, who shaped and made the earth, who established and created it not to be chaos, but formed it to be lived in: "I am ADONAI (Yeshua); there is no other……………..21……Who foretold this long ago, announced it in times gone by? Wasn't it I, ADONAI? There is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior; there is none besides me. 22 Look to me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God; there is no other. 23 In the name of myself I have sworn, from my mouth has rightly gone out, a word that will not return - that to me every knee will bow and every tongue will swear 24 about me that only in ADONAI (Yeshua) are justice and strength." Philippians 2 6 Though he was in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God something to be possessed by force. 7 On the contrary, he emptied himself, in that he took the form of a slave by becoming like human beings are. And when he appeared as a human being, 8 he humbled himself still more by becoming obedient even to death - death on a stake as a criminal! 9 Therefore God raised him to the highest place and gave him the name above every name; 10 that in honor of the name given Yeshua, every knee will bow - in heaven, on earth and under the earth 11 and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is ADONAI (YHVH) - to the glory of God the Father. Shmot 34 34 But when he went in before ADONAI (the Spirit) for him to speak, he would take the veil off until he came out; then, when he came out, he would tell the people of Isra'el what he had been ordered. 35 But when the people of Isra'el saw Moshe's face, that the skin of Moshe's face shone, he would put the veil back over his face until he went in again to speak with [ADONAI]. 2 Corinthians 3 16 "But," says the Torah, "whenever someone turns to ADONAI, the veil is taken away." 17 Now, "ADONAI" in this text means the Spirit. And where the Spirit of ADONAI is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us, with faces unveiled, see as in a mirror the glory of the Lord; and we are being changed into his very image, from one degree of glory to the next, by ADONAI the Spirit. Portion of “THE NAME OF GOD IN THE COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE by David Stern The Greek word kurios is frequently ambiguous. It can mean “sir,” “lord” (as in “lord of the manor”), “Lord” (with divine overtones), and “Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh.” Most translations by always rendering kurios “Lord”, finesse the issue of when it means that translators should decide the true meaning of a word and render that meaning clearly, rather than transfer vagueness from one language to another, the word “ADONAI” is used in the B’rit Hadasha wherever I, as the translator, believe “kurios” is the Greek representation of the tetragrammaton. In several places this approach brings into bold relief a key theological issue separating Messianic from traditional Judaism, namely, wheather ADONAI can include Yeshua the Messiah and/or the Holy Spirit. Philippians 2:10-11 informs us that the day is coming when “every knee will bow….and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is kurios.” Since this passage quotes Isaiah 45:23, where it is explicit that every knee will bow to ADONAI, kurios is here translated “ADONAI.” At 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 Sha’ul (Paul) alludes to Exodus 34:34 in writing that “whenever someone turns to ADONAI, the veil is taken away”; then he explicitly points out that “’ADONAI’ in this text means the Spirit,” and uses the phrase, “ADONAI the Spirit.” Isaiah 45:23 In the name of myself I have sworn, from my mouth has rightly gone out, a word that will not return - that to me every knee will bow and every tongue will swear 24 about me that only in ADONAI (Yeshua) are justice and strength." Philippians 2:9 Therefore God raised him to the highest place and gave him the name above every name; 10 that in honor of the name given Yeshua, every knee will bow - in heaven, on earth and under the earth 11 and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is ADONAI (YHVH) - to the glory of God the Father.
  6. Jesus spent a lot of time telling stories did he not? Usually called parables. And what did Jesus say was the reason he spoke in parables? Matt 13 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; 15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.' And didn't he say there was a difference between those who he spoke parables to and those who knew him? 16 "But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; 17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. Parables to those who do not understand, BUT 'our eyes' see, and 'our ears' hear. IF we have the same Spirit as those who proclaimed this witness.
  7. I hope this is what will happen. It's what I did anyway. I had a Messianic Jewish wedding then officiated it with the state. Very logical response I'd say.
  8. So is this what you see as the essential core 'doctrine'? (not disagreeing) This reminds me of many of the reasons I can not identify as a Christian. Everytime I try to enter into converstations with Christians their perspective originates in some doctrine. Like Holy Bible, or Trinity, or worse yet, supersessionism. And when I see our disconnect I just can't seem to move past that anymore. It's like trying to watch a 3D move without the glasses. Our reference points are skewed and misaligned, and the image we paint for each other is blurred and fuzzy, at best. Add prideful arrogance to the mix and we have polarization. Yet I agree with what you said here; I am moving past the whole 'you wrong (turn your back)' type mentality. I do long to respect others for who they are. But so many Christians are an in your face type with their pet doctrine that I find it nearly impossible to engage them. Good thing I'm not focused on proselytizing Christians from their doctrines. No more than i'm interested in converting non believing Jews. I like to think that the best form of witnessing is to live the life God gave us. Show them the relationship we have with the living God through Yeshua. A real-time experience not a fanciful story that 'could' happen to them too. If they only b e l i e v e....... SHOW them the God that dwells inside us. Open our hearts and reveal that which keeps it beating. Then they will want what He has to offer. Today, everyone has a 'story' to tell. But few seem to have witnesses to share......
  9. This didn't happen over night. This country has been going down this road for a very long time. Generations. I have often wondered if the Marxist/socialist agenda of the 20th century has actually suceeded here. I know things shift and change, like tides. But this is like someone infected this country with a virus that is now overtaking it's host. It started like a cold. Darn liberals! Stupid hippies!! Get a job! Go to school!! And now look at the state of the body. Liberals run the administration, mostly from the 60's generation, and jobs are not to be found, and schools are now a socialist environment. I understand things swing from side to side. But someone cut the cord........... And those in charge are lying to you that we are still connected and swinging...... nothing to see here, move along. As we fall headlong into the abyss. Yea yea, I know, shimshon the optimistic pessimist. I do have hope that Messiah will return and fix it all. Just hope we can all survie the operation. Well, guess Yisrael survived.... And will survive till the end. There is good hope!!
  10. Think this question was directed at me. God made earth (how is not important) Jesus is the Son of God. He came and died to save us from our sins and the punishment we deserve which is death. Jesus rose again Salvation is by faith alone. Let me make this clear since people usually read what is not there. I am not saying I do not believe things such as the virgin birth just that they are not essential. For those who are newer to the faith or not as sure then perhaps for them the virgin birth is essential. ** In my opinion, every true believer must have a saving gospel. I have talked to people who were not raised in a 'christian' environment. Christian environment means the person was exposed to the teaching of Christianity, even if their exposure was a liberal church, they would have heard certain doctrines. Instead, I am talking about people who were not raised or exposed to a christian environment, so essentially no little to nothing about Jesus. That means, they may not have heard of the virgin birth, or if Jesus is God or not. How much doctrine does a person need to know in order to be saved, is my definition of essential. So, I understand your exclusion of commonly held doctrine from the essentials. We might have the same idea of what an essential is. **Could you explain more what you mean here? Thank you. I was raised Reform and came to faith in Messiah without any Christian doctrines. After I honored God's call to follow Messiah I did attempt to enter Christian environments, and entertained some of their doctrines. Like at first I was swept away into a southern baptist church by a friend who thought how awesome it was for a Jew to become 'saved and baptised'. Me? I wanted to do what I read the Messiah and apostles did. Because they implied that it was to be done with us as well. As a symbol of the renewing of our hearts through the immersion of the Spirit of God. Which is what I was really seeking. So, I walked through some Christian environments 'after' I was saved. I mean, they were all saying they had 'the way' to God, I had to see what it was all about. But I never felt at home in any church, nor did I agree with any of their 'doctrines'. So I started seeking other Jews who had the same experience as I did. And so my walk as a Messianic Jew began. This was the late 80's btw... Long before all this Messianic Gentile stuff came along. I guess my point would be, as a Messianic Jew I never considered that I became saved by any form of Christian doctrine. I came to my faith in the pit of hell, through all my wandering in the desert. Messiah found me, crying and lashing out at people, as a young teen. I was rejecting my Jewishness and the church. I wound up reading the NT in a time when I was seeking and reading every book I could find. Plato, Socrates, Antone Levey.... I was seeking. Too funny too. Because I was actually seeking that which I was running from. When I read about Yeshua it hit me. I was lost, and I actually started to believe he wanted to find me. Yeshua, the King of the Jews. Who said he loves us endelessly and desires to redeem us all. I ran into my God face to face in the middle of the desert. I was a murderer(figuratively), and he forgave me, and came to live with me. Well, he was always there, I just had to realize it and accept it. Cause I really started to hate him. And I learned that only he can reach us, not any form of 'doctrine'. However, I can fully understand what your saying in regards to Christians who identify with Christianity 'through' a doctrine/denomination. Glad I can not relate to that.
  12. When people are judgmental they limit themselves and you both at the same time. First, I would find a less judgmental group of Christians. Second, I would seek out a good mentor. It sounds like your just starting your walk and to be loosly planted is to be quickly uprooted. First and foremost I would say maintain your faith in Jesus and the fact that the holy spirit will come and do what he has promised within you. This relationship is the foundation of your existence. Beyond this seek out those who are matured enough to serve others in love not pride. Pride says 'you are wrong, let me show you the right way'.... Love is patient, kind, long suffering and endures, it uplifts not tears down, it offers more of itself than it asks of you. Seek those who are founded in the good fruits promised by Yeshua, not those who base their foundation on what 'you' are not. In short, don't deny what you believe you are simply because others disagree with your expression of faith. Express the faith that God has given you in Messiah and seek to follow his commads as given through the holy spirit to your inner heart. If others disagree, love them as you would want to be loved, and gravitate toward others who do the same. May God bless you with just that.... peace, that surpasses all understanding.
  13. It's not just White supremacy, like the Black Jesus movement it's being used today to discredit the modern nation of Israel. Yes, you know your stuff. In a period of just a couple of days, I heard that the modern Jews can't be real Jews because todays Jews are caucasion and Jews should be middle eastern. Then I heard from another person that modern Jews can't be real Jews because real Jews are middle easter but todays Jews are caucasion. I heard from another person that real Jews are black so modern Jews are not real Jews. Then another said modern Jews are actually Khazars, and have taken the land from the real Jews. etc. etc. etc. So many people with different stories, who claim to be real Jews while the Jews in Israel are fakes. Let them wait till the tribulation comes and then we will see who want's to identify as a Jew. Better yet, let them wait till Messiah comes and let Him decide.
  14. You can add Samsons mother to that list. OH yea, Rebekah was also barren, that would make 7
  15. Demonize your enemy, then comes justified aggression. Those who choose to ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. I have two words..... NEVER AGAIN! The reason 6 million Jews died was in part because when others noticed it, they did nothing. They were too afraid to leave their comfort zone and help. When in fact, their comfort zone was their own prison. The fear they had paralyzed them into submission. Only too few stood for the truth, like the Ten Boom's. And they paid with their lives. Brings to mind, that God always tests us with his word. To see if we will follow his ways. Guess we better get ready for another 'great' test of faith. Pray! For mercy......
