  1. Kingdom Now theology sees the second coming of Jesus in two stages: first through the flesh of the believers (and in particular the flesh of today's apostles and prophets), and then in person to take over the kingdom handed to Him by those who have been victorious (the "overcomers"). Prior to the second coming, overcomers must purge the earth of all evil influences. Kingdom Now claims that Jesus cannot return until all His enemies have been put under the feet of the church (including death, presumably). Although there are people who only partially hold to Kingdom Now teachings, they still share the beliefs outlined above, all of which are outside of mainstream Christianity and all of which deny Scripture. First, the idea that God has “lost control” of anything is ludicrous, especially coupled with the idea that He needs human beings to help Him regain that control. He is the sovereign Lord of the universe, complete and holy, perfect in all His attributes. He has complete control over all things—past, present and future—and nothing happens outside His command. Everything is proceeding according to His divine plan and purpose, and not one molecule is moving on its own accord. Above is just one excerpt from the article at the Got Questions site which shows a major unScriptural teaching. The above shows Kingdom Now members do humanize God and deify the special "overcomers".
  2. Hi, I'm sorry I couldn't read your entire post either. But keeping things simple....first you and your husband really need to trust in Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. Seek to walk with Jesus as revealed in the Bible. Get your eyes on the Lord, not yourselves. Also, pray for understanding from your heart....this will help you to walk with the Lord from your heart. Head and heart work together when we are born again....knowing God's forgiveness and becoming God's child. I hope you and your husband will find a sound church so you can grow spiritually as you hear God's word preached.
  3. He Leadeth Me by Joseph H. Gilmore 1 He leadeth me: O blessed thought! O words with heavenly comfort fraught! Whate'er I do, where'er I be, still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me. Refrain: He leadeth me, he leadeth me; by his own hand he leadeth me: his faithful follower I would be, for by his hand he leadeth me. 2 Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom, sometimes where Eden's flowers bloom, by waters calm, o'er troubled sea, still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me. Refrain 3 Lord, I would clasp thy hand in mine, nor ever murmur nor repine; content, whatever lot I see, since 'tis my God that leadeth me. Refrain 4 And when my task on earth is done, when, by thy grace, the victory's won, e'en death's cold wave I will not flee, since God through Jordan leadeth me. Refrain The author was a professor of logic and also Hebrew. He held a Baptist ministry position for some time.
  4. Love the words and the melody is nice, too. From an ancient Irish poem which was later put into verses by Eleanor Hull for the hymn. Be Thou My Vision 1 Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; naught be all else to me, save that thou art - thou my best thought by day or by night, waking or sleeping, thy presence my light. 2 Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word; I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord; thou my great Father, I thy true son; thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one. 3 Be thou my battle shield, sword for my fight; be thou my dignity, thou my delight, thou my soul's shelter, thou my high tow'r: raise thou me heav'n-ward, O Pow'r of my pow'r. 4 Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise, thou mine inheritance, now and always: thou and thou only, first in my heart, High King of heaven, my treasure thou art. 5 High King of heaven, my victory won, may I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'n's Sun! Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, still be my vision, O Ruler of all.
  5. Yes, RarexxRose, please elaborate a bit more, so we might understand what you are meaning.
  6. Hi Chris, I read your post and know you were just asking how to set up a page. I think if you go to that website, they tell you how to do that. Also, do try the Salvation Army....they are really good at helping people. I remember you are working. For the benefit of others, rents in Southern California are extremely expensive. For example, for a one bedroom I pay $1216 a month....and that is considered extremely low! I get a rent increase every year. My rent is lower because I have been here for many years. I share the rent. Now apartments in Los Angeles are going for $2200 and that is on the low end.....most in my business neighborhood are $2500 at least. So the above is how people are becoming homeless more and more here. People can't pay these rents. Some have unexpected medical bills which puts them on the streets. Families and seniors are now on the streets. Big business manages these apartment buildings and they are not compassionate....they will put you out. Anyhow, just wanted to explain a little of the situation in Southern California, where Chris is living.
  7. Gandalf has said among other things, "this thread is going down a dark road." When one has taken mission courses (I have), there is a course offered on the cults and world religions. If we are taught how to recognize false doctrines and religions, then it's important to warn others when there is a possibility they are being led astray. That is all I am seeking to do....I don't spend my time doing this otherwise.
  8. I don't think they will admit it. But hopefully this topic will cause other Christians to be careful of whose teachings they follow.
  9. One of our members is now a Christian. He lives in Saudi Arabia. He says the secret police follow foreigners alot. That's why it's hard for him to make contact with any Christians....he thinks the police will observe him doing that. It would mean prison or worse for him.
  10. We have at least one member here who served in Saudi Arabia. Would love to hear from those who have lived in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East. Care to tell of your experiences? Thanks!
  11. 140 degrees!! wow.... didn't know it got that hot anywhere! Btw, I will start a topic on Saudi Arabia in General Discussion....I would be interested in your experiences there. I have an epal who is a member here....former Muslim who lives in Saudi Arabia.
  12. We must forgive because this is what the Lord Jesus teaches us to do. Do we really believe what He says? Then we must forgive.
  13. Been wondering if we might have a couple of Kingdom Now people here, as some here are not emphasizing Christ and His salvation and resulting sanctification much. Rather their focus seems to be on Christians and how absolutely perfect we should be. Of course, we should seek to walk godly in Christ, but all the glory for that goes to the Lord. The emphasis should always be on Christ and His mercy and goodness to us.
  14. Kingdom Now members seem to place themselves in a position above God. Rather than glorifying Christ, and what He has done and will do, they seem to glorify their own efforts.
  15. This a cult that I have never heard of before. Someone here mentioned it to me. We need to be aware of their strange teachings. Among other things, the worst thing is they are humanizing God and deifying man!! More info below.... https://www.gotquestions.org/kingdom-now.html
  16. I don't know how that poor soul and other homeless ever survive in that Phoenix heat. When I visited family in Phoenix near to Summer, I could hardly walk briefly outside. Heat like an oven...feel like your brain is baking. Saw a mailman around noon.... don't know how he managed. As for the op, I wouldn't want to work in a liquor store but if someone is desperate for work, I can understand them doing that temporarily.
  17. The still small voice... usually it's an inner knowing that sometimes can occur. However, we know that this will never contradict the word of God.
  18. PeachySunrise, that's wonderful that you prayed for forgiveness and are now believing in Jesus as your Savior and Lord. May the Lord lead you in His ways each day.
  19. Middle East: When new Christians must flee persecution from their Muslim communities, native missionaries become their only family. Native missionaries shoulder the responsibility of helping them relocate and providing emergency living assistance. These new believers lose family, jobs and possessions to follow Christ. Spain: As Muslim refugees from the Middle East and Africa come to Christ, needs for discipling and training are growing fast. Information from Christian Aid Mission.
  20. Not a single mom but just a thought.... You say your child deserves a two parent home....many women do raise children alone and love them tremendously, of course. However, others that are unable to take care of/provide for a child, often look into adoption. I've known of a few who were adopted because of those circumstances. Not saying you want to do this, but it is possibly an option to consider.
  21. Remember our faith in God doesn't depend on our feelings. Feelings can sometimes change but God's promises are true. Good advice by Blood Bought.
  22. Funny one, nzkev! I remember that old saying from my childhood....see you later alligator, after awhile crocodile. If any of you are interested this is a true story... it's exciting. You can watch it for free...see below.
  23. This is hilarious!! Florida.....an alligator crashed a couple's picnic. He devoured the cheese, salami, half a watermelon, grapes.....and a bowl of guacamole.... including the bowl!!
  24. One of our brothers and a member, formerly Muslim, has let me know about this website.... it's http://www.christianfrommuslim.com It's to help Muslims interested in finding out about Christ, and also to help Christians minister to Muslims. Many videos and testimonies. I thought you all might find it informative and interesting.
  25. Isn't it encouraging that the smallest of faith is accepted by the Lord?
