  4. Hi folks... Does this section of scripture imply that a Christian can loose his salvation? 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
  5. Well, like I said earlier, if Leonard says possessed/oppressed is the same thing, I believe him. We have no Biblical instance of a Christian being possessed/oppressed/demoned. That's why I believe it can't happen. There's no room if we're indwelt by HS. If this person's a Christian, they aren't possessed/oppressed/demoned. Not everyone who goes to church is a Christian, though. Acts chapter 4:32-acts 5:6 32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. 34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. 36 And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 37 having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet. 5 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." 5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. 6 And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. 7 Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?" She said, "Yes, for so much." 9 Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." 10 Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. 11 So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things. Hello Now I agree that a Christian can't be demon possessed. How do you explain the above account given in the book of Acts? According to the Scriptures they were all believers.

    hell and mercy

Then you question if God is a God of justice. Who's to say Hitler didn't repent in his final hour. God is a Gos of justice and grace amongst other things. Hitler killed himself committing a mortal sin that he couldn't repent for, not to mention that he killed millions of people most of whom were innocent. But I am not God, I can't say whether or not he is in heaven, hell, or purgatory, but I can say that if there was ever a person who deserved hell, he would be my number one pick, followed closely by Stalin. Hitler was clearly demon possessed. I will speak more on this in a little bit. Right now I need to take my kids to school. Blessings.

    Jesus Only

How did you come to the conclusions that this movement is taking place? Also websites that come off anti-christian are deleted, you can probably PM them if someone asks for them though This is a movement that I can honestly say is a cult. I have encountered several Holiness preachers who don't believe that Jesus is a separate entity from the Trinity, but that Jesus is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Where do they get this idea from? Acts 2:35. They take one verse and run with it. This is wholly separate from the WOF movement (which BTW I ascribe to and no, I don't need people trying to tell me I am a heretic, thank you very much LOL) and this I think is more dangerous than any other cult out there because they couch all their teachings within Scripture. This is Scripture twisting at it's finest. Anita Anita How do you feel about TD jakes?

    Phil 2:12

My two cents worth 2:12 Having set forth the example of Christ in such brilliant luster, the apostle is now ready to press home the exhortation based on it. The Philippians had always obeyed Paul when he was present with them. Now much more in his absence, they should work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. Again we come to a passage of Scripture concerning which there has been much confusion. At the outset, we should be very clear that Paul is not teaching that salvation can be earned by works. Throughout his writings, he repeatedly emphasizes that salvation is not by works but by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. What then does the verse mean? 1. It may mean that we are to work out the salvation which God has placed within us. God has given us eternal life as a free gift. We are to live it out by lives of practical holiness. 2. Salvation here may mean the solution of their problem at Philippi. They had been plagued with squabbles and strife. The apostle has given them the remedy. Now they are to apply the remedy by having the mind of Christ. Thus they would work out their own salvation, or the solution of their difficulty. The salvation spoken of here is not that of the soul, but deliverance from the snares which would hinder the Christian from doing the will of God. In a similar vein, Vine describes it as the present entire experience of deliverance from evil. Salvation has many different meanings in the NT. Notice that in 1:19 it means deliverance from prison. In 1:28 it refers to the eventual salvation of our bodies from the very presence of sin. The meaning in any particular case must be determined in part, at least, by the context. I believe that in this passage salvation means the solution of the problem that was vexing the Philippians, that is, their contentions. 2:13 Now Paul reminds them that it is possible for them to work out their salvation because it is God who works in them both to will and to do for His good pleasure. This means that it is God who puts within us the wish or desire to do His will in the first place. Then He also works in us the power to carry out the desire. Here again we have the wonderful merging of the divine and human. In one sense, we are called on to work out our salvation. In another sense, it is only God who can enable us to do it. We must do our part, and God will do His. (However, this does not apply to the forgiveness of sins, or to the new birth. Redemption is wholly the work of God. We simply believe and enter in.) I hope this helps.

    hell and mercy

Lets start with Matthew 5:27 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. Jesus refers here to the bodybeing cast into hell, and the psalmist speaks of bonesbeing scattered at the mouth of hell [sheol](Ps. 141:7). Jacob talked about his gray hairsbeing brought down to hell (Gen. 42:38; cf. 44:29, 31). However, Jesus referred to hell as a place where the soul goes after one dies and is in conscious torment (Luke 16:2223). Is hell just the grave, as the Jehovahs Witnesses and some other cults claim ? The Hebrew word translated hell(sheol) is also translated graveor pit.It simply means unseen world, and can refer either to the grave, where the body is unseen after burial, or to the spirit world, which is invisible to mortal eyes. Further, in the Old Testament, sheol often means grave, as indicated by the fact that it is a place where bones(Ps. 141:7), gray hairs(Gen. 42:38), and even weapons (Ps. 76:35) go at death. Even the resurrection of Jesusbody is said to be from hell(i.e., the grave), where it did not see corruption (Acts 2:3031). There may be allusions to hellas a spirit world in the Old Testament (cf. Prov. 9:18; Isa. 14:9); hell(Greek: hades) is clearly described as a place of departed spirits (souls) in the New Testament. Fallen angels are there and they have no bodies (2 Peter 2:4). Unrepentant human beings are in conscious torment there after they die and their bodies are buried (Luke 16:2223). In the end those in hell will be cast into the lake of fire with the devil where they will be tormented day and night forever(Rev. 20:10, 1415). Jesus spoke many times of hell as a place of conscious and eternal suffering (cf. Matt. 10:28; 18:9; Mark 9:43, 45, 47; Luke 12:5; 16:23). Jesus Only

The Oneness Jesus This cult is one of the most dangerous cults that there is because it masquerades itself as an Angel of light. This cult denies the deity of Christ and believe in Modalism. To see a definition on modalism click here. Present day groups that hold to forms of this error are the United Pentecostal and United Apostolic Churches. They deny the Trinity, teach that the name of God is Jesus, and require baptism for salvation. T.D Jakes is of this. Oneness groups are decidedly Arminian in the doctrine of salvation. They deny predestination and maintain that it is completely up to the individual to decide whether or not he wants to be saved. They also teach that it is possible to lose one's salvation. Wesley would be turning in his grave. Modalism is probably the most common theological error concerning the nature of God. It is a denial of the Trinity which states that God is a single person who, throughout biblical history, has revealed Himself in three modes, or forms. Thus, God is a single person who first manifested himself in the mode of the Father in Old Testament times. At the incarnation, the mode was the Son. After Jesus' ascension, the mode is the Holy Spirit. These modes are consecutive and never simultaneous. In other words, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit never all exist at the same time, only one after another. Modalism denies the distinctiveness of the three persons in the Trinity even though it retains the divinity of Christ. Present day groups that hold to forms of this error are the United Pentecostal and United Apostolic Churches. They deny the Trinity, teach that the name of God is Jesus, and require baptism for salvation. These modalist churches often accuse Trinitarians of teaching three gods. This is not what the Trinity is. The correct teaching of the Trinity is one God in three eternal coexistent persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  21. The modern world has been consumed since September 11, 2001 with Osama bin Laden (b. 1957) and his version of Islam. Islamic terrorism is the military outcome of the growing radicalization in Islam since the early 1800s, both in response to the spread of Western colonialism and the demise of Muslim political supremacy. Todays Islamic terrorists are particularly angered over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the role of the United States in the Middle East. Osama bin Laden traces his radicalism to the Wahhabism of Saudi Arabia, a movement that began with the reformer Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (170387). The Wahhabis advocated a puritanical and strict reading of Islamic law and belief. The Wahhabis threatened the interests of the Ottoman Turks and, in concert with the Saud dynasty, eventually gained control of Mecca and Medina, Islams holiest cities. A fundamentalist thrust in Islam emerged in Egypt as well, with the formation of the Muslim Brotherhood (also known as Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun) in 1927. Tormented first by the presence of British rule and then by a tepid Muslim government, Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna and Sayyid Qutb, his chief intellectual heir, sought by any means, including violence, to restore true Islamic rule to Egypt. The brotherhood started branches in Jordan and Syria, and militant groups in India, Iran, and Iraq imitated its radicalism. Muhammad Nawab-Safavi started his Fedayeen-e-Islami movement in Iran in the 1930s and told his followers: Throw away your beads and get a gun: for beads keep you silent whilst guns silence the enemies of Islam.Abul Ala Maududi organized his militant Jamaat-e-Islami in the Punjab in 1941. Western awareness of militant Islam came with the radical overthrow of the Shah of Iran in 1979 and the establishment of harsh Islamic rule under the Ayatollah Khomeini. Islamic terrorism came to the west with the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, the explosions at U.S. embassies in Africa, the attack on the uss Cole in Yemen, and then the horrors of September 11. Recent terrorist bombings in Madrid and London have intensified concerns in the West about militant Islam. Islamic terrorists like bin Laden use the concept of jihad to defend their actions. It is obvious that jihad in Islamic history carries the meaning of military action as well as spiritual struggle. However, thankfully most Muslims believe that nothing in the life of the prophet Muhammad, the Quran, or Islamic law allows for the wholesale and indiscriminate violence carried out by Al-Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist groups. Significant attention in debates about Islamic terrorism has been given to the argument about a Clash of Civilizationsbetween Islam and the West. This view was advanced first by Harvard professor Samuel Huntington in a famous essay in Foreign Affairs (Summer 1993). Writing just after the first Gulf War, Huntington analyzed the competing ideologies of our time. On this, a number of Muslim intellectuals are calling for a new and radical self-criticism within Islam. This point has been articulated best by Kanan Makiya, author of Republic of Fear (on Saddam Husseins Iraq) and Cruelty and Silence. Makiya wrote in a London Observer article: Arabs and Muslims need today to face up to the fact that their resentment at America has long since become unmoored from any rational underpinnings it might once have had. to read more http://www.pro4machineworks.com/Islam.html

  24. You Know Billy This question you possed has been at the heart of many debates in Bible college and seminary for the past 500 years and longer really. This gets to the heart of armenism and calvinism. I believe both theological views have problems. I can debate both sides. In the end I am a 3 point calvinist. I will look through some of my notes and see I if can't come up with an answer that sort of makes sense. Thanks Javier
