  1. I just came from a thread titled "Dreadful TV Shows." I was sharing there about how important it is to put the right things before our eyes and in our thoughts.

I mentioned a song that was written for a Bill Gaither children's recording but applies to any age. Below are the lyrics:

    CHORUS
    Input, output,
what goes in is what comes out..
    Input, output,
That is what it’s all about.
    Input, output,
Your mind is a computer whose
Input, output daily you must choose.

Let the Bible be your primary feed
It’s got all the data you need.
Talk to Jesus, all the time
That’s the way that you can stay on line!

If your print-out reads—to lie or cheat,
There’s some data you should delete.
Debug your mind of sinful bytes,
Then you will operate all right! Who is in control?

  2. :)Some of you know that I loooove Christian music. Messianic is a favorite of mine and is mentioned in my profile interests. But I also started a thread called " Let us Lift Up The Name Of The Lord-Through Hymns." Then there is Jesus music (from the 1970's to 1980's.) It was the kind I grew up on in my early years of being saved. Keith Green, Petra, Phil Keaggy, etc. I appreciate some of the newer music, too.

Recently, I was thinking about how lyrics have the ability to really get you to thinking. They are like mini sermons, in a way. They can deal with important messages ranging from abortion to suicide and everything inbetween. Sometimes a short, but hard hitting message set to music can make more of an impact that a sermon that is soon forgotten. (no offense to sermons, of course. :))Plus, you play songs over and over so you often memorize the words in the process.

The thing about songs is they are catchy and so they stick in your head. I know some don't care for the contemporary sounds. I understand your convictions and we all have unique tastes in styles. The purpose for this thread is not to debate that. But rather to share Christian song LYRICS that have left an impact on our lives.

So I will post a few that speak to me and hope maybe they will do the same to you. I would likewise appreciate hearing some of yours. I hope and pray this thread will be thought-provoking, in a good sort of way.

Thanks for putting up with my :b:lol long-winded  intro.

you are bringing strangers into your home, with their own agendas/worldviews.

@Sower :thumbsup:Well said. This is an interesting way to look at it. And so true. Thanks for posting it.

My favorite 'go-to verse' about viewing habits (ranging from what you watch to what you read/pictures in magazines) is Psalms 101:3

“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”

I agree with our brother King David in that scripture. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. If we don't bother watching (or reading/looking at) junk in the first place, we won't have to deal with the fallout (of images we'll regret later. OR the need to deprogram our minds from the world's corrupt agendas/worldviews.)

I think of it as what has been described as "garbage in/garbage out." What we see/hear is bound to affect us to some degree. Our minds are like a computer taking in data and filing it away to access later.

This was captured well in the lyrics of a song especially for children, but applies to all people. It is called "Input/Output (The Computer Song.)

I will be posting the words into a separate thread I'm starting...called Lyrics that pack a punch (songs with messages that matter.) I hope some of you will visit and enter hard hitting/important lyrics from Christian songs you know in it. :)GBU.

Please pary God take control and heal  and bless my family members.

@mel85 I'm sorry for what is going on with your family all at once. We have an old expression here in America..."When it rains, it pours." (Meaning things can become quite overwhelming in life.) I understand from experience how sometimes it all seems to come crashing in on you. You have my empathy as well as my prayers for your family members.

I think it is wonderful how you look out for them and ask prayer for them here. But it can weigh heavy on you, too. So you will also be in my prayers, brother...that God will guide you and bring peace to you (along with healing for them.)

Time spent in praise (counting blessings) is helpful to me. Do you have any worship music you can play? That's always good, too... :th_praying:Continued prayers will be going up for you, brother.

The older Christians/sheep must look after

the newer, younger, more vulnerable ones.

It is our responsibility. Paul was our role model in this.

    Protecting the little lambs.

  7. Acts 19:8-10 (NKJV) says:

8 And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God. 9 But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. 10 And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
