  1. Hmmmm ... first they were upset that there was no holiday, not they are upset by the date. I'm curious, did they speak up when the holiday was being established? Sure wish everyone would stop pointing fingers at the past and say stuff like "white America" and "black America". We all have the same color blood!
  2. That's the way I see it also OneLight...amen Brother. in His service, Christian Yes ... nice to be able to know what God said about the subject!
  3. Maybe those in Gaza should behave and then they could live like they want to. I wonder how long it will take for them to figure this out?
  4. And we should keep it,whether he puts it on our hearts or on tablits,we should keep them. Those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior are in the same Body of Christ. There are no Jews nor Gentiles. OneLight sorry ...used a wrong word
  5. There is no right answer. Your family member needs to search their own heart for the answer. To stay only to delay the inevitable so that you will not hurt others will have to be their choice, as it would be for them to trust that God will take them if it is their time. I can not think of a harder question to answer. We can only pray that your family member be led in their decision by God. OneLight

  7. Matthitjah, what a refreshing thread! Every time we study the Word, pray, or do the work that God has us doing through the guidance of His Spirit, we will find new treasure! We don't even have to look hard at all. We only need to have our spiritual eyes open and He will show us the treasures. God is so Great! I understand what you are saying about the dusting off of the treasures that we have hidden in our spiritual treasure chest, but if we continually find new treasure, we will be opening and closing the chest and moving around that which we already have in order to find more room for the new. If we are not finding any new treasures, then the old will collect dust. Nice thread! OneLight
  8. And upon completion of these synchronous events, where will Christ and His faithful go...and for how long? -C- They all go to heaven and spend eternity there. Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Revelations 21 tells us something different, cardcaptor. 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. We will not be in Heaven, for the Kingdom will be on the New Earth.
  9. Jesus, when being tempted in the desert for 40 days, did not answer Satan with hateful words, but used scripture in love to rebuke his questions/statements. If we have the fullness of the Holy Spirit in us, as Christ did, then hate will not be part of our being. If we lack the fullness in any way, that what is not of the Spirit of God is of the flesh, and we may have a hate for Satan.
  10. Dear Readers, I believe in everything we should pray for the guidence of the Holy Spirit inside of us. In this case, God tells us in the new testment not to yoke ourselves with the darkness...Pauls says,"What do we have in common with the darkness, children of light?" We have nothing in common...above all I think you should pray about this and listen to your spirit, and see if you can't understand what God is saying to you...That is the best answer I can give you. Good advice and Welcome to Worthy.
  11. Since the government doesn't know what to do with the vets that are already homeless, I wonder what they will do with the merging vets from todays war? PTSD has been around since the very beginning of wars. It isn't until recently that we have given it a name. I am working with a three time Purple Heart recipient from the Viet Nam war who is homeless. He has been treated with disrespect from both the VA and society. Yes, he became "self medicated" due to the terrors of his dreams and flashbacks from the war, so he is looked down upon by those who have, as being a sore in their lives. Where is the love? We can not compare wars to say that one is worst then the other. Viet Nam had it's own IED's and worriers that were not part of the regular army, just as Iraq has today. The only difference is they had a different style of fighting due to the location. There are no jungles in Iraq. The problem lies with all of us, from the President down to you and I. We do not make our government take responsibility for the results of their war. They say that they have given money to the VA to create long term housing, but have attached so much red-tape to the money that it takes years to be approved. The result? They come to us, who work with the homeless. With tears in my eyes and a huge lump on my throat, I count myself honored to help these people out. I have to also ask where are the churches? Why have we not stood up and told them that they are welcome in "our house"? We have locked the doors to our buildings at night, in fear of people coming in and taking something. People, what is inside the building we call churches is not ours, but Gods. I have to ask, when did God lock the doors? OneLight
  12. About praying to ask for something. Here is scripture that may guide you in understanding why, and why not , do we receive our answer. John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. The key here is if we abide in Him and His words abide in us. If we are in His will, we will be seeking only what He wants. Since it is what He wants, then it will be given to us. We should all be seeking the will of our Father, becoming mature in our walk. This is what I am trying to accomplish ... His will. OneLight
  13. Argh! Yeah, that's it. Bummer on the false advertisement. My apologies. As for me, no apologies needed. If you ever come across beautiful images like this again, please, do post up! I have a lot of created images and this is a great one.
  14. LOL OneLight what is a spiritual tantrum. that sounds like being naughty....not bad. We are all different like Martha and Mary and we all have different callings. You know the person who sits in church with you may be quiet and timid and not appearing to do much to build up the body...outwardly that is...., but that person's relationship with the Lord may go a lot deeper than what shows on the surface. I have never met one...bad...christian, but many who call themselves christians. As WSB pointed out there is no one good. Not one. You make a great point about the quite ones. I have known prayer worriers that are so quite by nature that they seem to be almost the walking dead. Yet, they commit to the biggest spiritual battles taking place! What mighty worriers, these quite, simple individuals are. I'm sure glad they are on our side! Another good point that we are all wicked by nature. If it wasn't for the Holy Spirit in us, we still would be. The blood of Christ has washed away our sins and the Holy Spirit helps keep them away. What a team! God Is Great!!!
  15. I have one daughter that has been a Wiccan for many years. I have another that also believes in a faith like Wicca, but I'm not sure what it is for it is mingled with lesbianism. She won't tell me because she know my faith. Still, I love them both and will be there for them through the love that Jesus has given me. In my flesh, I could scream at them until I'm blue in the face and only make them not ever want to listen to anything I have to say. As it stands, the long-suffering I have has displayed love that they want and respect. They know who my God is and they are not against me for loving Him with all my heart. I plant seeds. Someone else will have to water them and God will do the harvest. I have faith in this. For a scripture, I can stand on my signature. Provebs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. OneLight
  16. The church of Corinth was also the church that would not get past the milk of the word. Paul was pretty upset that they would not mature. Being a mature Christin helps when it comes to not being influenced by the world.
  17. If I may suggest that a bad Christian is one that is throwing a spiritual tantrum and should stand in the corner until the tantrum has run its course.
  18. The CD player you are mentioning, is it in your car of computer? How do you know there are 10 songs? This could be an error in your cd itself. Have you tried in in other systems?
  19. I realize that this verse speaks of what food to eat, but it can also pertain to the situation that you mention. Living with the opposite sex places you in a very dangerous situation. If it can not be helped, that is one thing. But to do so when there are other options , to me is wrong. If you really love one another, then being apart will not put temptation into the hearts of one another, for we are human and our flesh does have desires. It is a trap just waiting to be sprung and Satan will use every thing he can to lure you into it. Then there are the babes in Christ who will say, "If they can do it, so can I.", where they will fall into sin. 1 Corinthians 8:9 But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak. As for morals being of a divine nature, I tend to not agree, for there are many who have high morals but do not believe in God at all, but in man. Morals change as you allow the Holy Spirit to change your heart. They come from within you as a compass which we use to guide us through the sea of life.
  20. When speaking of the political morals or ethics, I believe they are speaking of those of in the flesh. Something that the whole world lives by or basis their beliefs in. That is the difference between what they are speaking of and the Christian morals and ethics, which are based on the Word. I agree with the simplicity of what Shlomo posted.
