  2. I am thankful for weekends to rest up for another new week thats coming. And also thankful for how God waters the earth with the rain. Somehow, its very peaceful in its own way.
  3. I am thankful for today, last night spent some time with my granbaby, as my 23 yr old daughter and her hubby were moving to their new apartment.
  4. I am thankful for the 4 seasons, and sunshine, trees and the ocean to admire every day.

  6. I dont understand this culture and in their beliefs with condemning their women. They try to be their own god.
  7. Blessings to you GTC, just Stay close to God and be mindful of what you watch and listen to.
  8. yes, I have my moments or days I can feel far away from God, when I get worried or let doubt set in, I quickly just get alone by myself and pray in telling Him how I'm feeling. Little by little I start feeling better and I just change my perspective, because I can be so narrow-minded and only see my problems or whatever I'm seeing, and I know better. Life is good. God is good. I look at all I have in my life that I am Thankful for and it helps so much.
  9. I am reminded of a dear Uncle that I had in my life. He would always be the one who would say grace at the table at our family gatherings. He has since went to heaven to be with the Lord a few years back. But as I ponder and think about my uncles life. A wonderful christian man to his wife and kids. He served in the military for 20 yrs., and he had severe arthritis in his neck for years and years. He and my aunt went to Jerusalem for a visit one year, and even went to the dead sea for healing. But he was never healed. It became worse and eventually all the pain meds and suffering he endured, it was weakening my uncle's body, and I was confused at times, and I often wondered if his "faith" for healing was that he accepted this disease and that was that. I agree with OneLight, faith is a strange thing, maybe it was self-righteousness as faith with my uncle.
  10. How I see retirement in a biblical way? I will always stay actively involved with God. I will always serve in some way, big or small. If the Lord willing. I am 47 yrs old and as I age in next 20 yrs and beyond, it is just a number.
  11. hello Jerry, To me personally, I think that what is important here is if the people of Israel had given up on God then the retelling of the story means nothing. I see more in depth of the whole story of 400 yrs or 430 yrs....It represents darkness and stagnation in their places on their journey. The people had doubts and they weren't engaged actively involved learning from God. Past encounters that God had done for them. This retelling of the story of the Israelites keeps a connection with Our God. It only carries power as long as we are in a relationship with God. The testimony of the ongoing relationship with God is what keeps Hope alive. And the Lord wants to celebrate in our journey. It is the very thing to overcome our problems with, it is the Word of God, it comes alive. blessings.
  12. hello and welcome back gdemoss, we all are on this journey as well, its wonderful that you share with us, you have a awesome way of communicating His Love in your words. I know you have struggled with certain issues that you have posted in the past. But know God is there with you. When the assignment seems bigger then you ....its God because He wants you to know He trusts you enough with the assignment so He can have the glory. God loves us that much.
  13. I so agree with your statement Onelight. Our witness is how we live our lives.
  14. Zion.....the thief your talking about Barabbas, did not die on the cross, he was set free. Only Jesus Christ our Lord died on the cross. Luke 23:17-25 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 17 []Now he was obliged to release to them at the feast one prisoner.] 18 But they cried out all together, saying, “Away with this man, and release for us Barabbas!” 19 (He was one who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection made in the city, and for murder.) 20 Pilate, wanting to release Jesus, addressed them again, 21 but they kept on calling out, saying, “Crucify, crucify Him!” 22 And he said to them the third time, “Why, what evil has this man done? I have found in Him no guilt demanding death; therefore I will punish Him and release Him.” 23 But they were insistent, with loud voices asking that He be crucified. And their voices began to prevail. 24 And Pilate pronounced sentence that their demand be granted. 25 And he released the man they were asking for who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, but he delivered Jesus to their will.
  15. Oh ya, I love Hillsong, great worship music...
  16. this is very encouraging, thank you, blessings to you.
  17. Jesus performed miracles and He healed the sick and gave sight back to the blinded but He did not heal all of the people, at times Jesus would leave and pray in deep prayer with the Father. Because Jesus needed strength to do what our heavenly Father asked of Him. So many people would want to see another miracle or be fed again and Jesus would see what they were doing, and Jesus wanted them to believe in Him. The scripture in Luke is for all believers. For the man that laughed at you, maybe he was nervous. Our Father grows us little by little, maybe you were what this man needed for him to see God's perspective on it, maybe you help stir his heart and belief. I believe God was moving here.
  18. Judging someones faith is wrong, the pharisees did that, and Jesus had a problem with them. For the pharisees believed they were always better. the world is watching us all the time and we nee d to be the light of the world with love. I believe in the golden rule with who ever I meet.
  19. great advice, and it does feel good to help someone out when we ourselves are down in the moment...getting your mind off yourself helps changes your mood. hang in there it will be ok.
  20. I agree, they're expensive if you take care of them right but.....JUST LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!!! What a cutie. aww a cutie for sure.
  21. i so agree. I love my dog shes a pomeranian.
  22. i so agree, being on the same page is so important with values in Jesus, money, sex, family origins, etc, I can think of an example here like if a guy looks at money and he spends it, to him consumer debt is not a big deal, get a credit card and charge it up and it will all work out in the end. And her, on the other side, shes like whoa! that freaks her out, hates the idea of not having a substantial savings account, makes her feel really insecure, her parents taught her to save for a rainy day. So now they standing together at a electronic store and looking at a 90" flat panel TV and its so bright its burning their eyes out and he is like got to have it! and shes like we don't have the money and he says yea we do! all we gotta do is fill out that application form, shes like no I don't think we should buy it until we have the money. Unless they get on same page there will be ALL these issues of life.
