Well I can give my studied opinion on this topic. Why did all the people turn against God after they witnessed his miraculous powers when he freed them from Egypt? Why did they mumble and complain about manna and God's laws? Why do people prefer the teachings and traditions of men to Gods? For much the same reasons , pride , tradition will they follow Satan after the 1000 year reign.

You do know the word God is generic and is not the name of the creator ? The creator is called by many names in the bible . God is the English word for creator. The word God and Lord mean a person in power and authority . Its a myth that God is the name of our creator. Just a guess but I would say what you have posted shows that the Catholics realize God means a person who is honored or has authority and deserves respect. You have to feel for these kids who are here through no actions of there own. Personally I am torn.
