Prov. 9:8-9
8 Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you;
rebuke a wise man and he will love you.
9 Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still;
teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.

How do you respond when you are rebuked? As the wise man, or as the fool? Do you love those that rebuke you? Or do you get angry or defensive? Do you allow it to teach you and grow you, or do you resent it? It is so important that we have the mind and heart of Christ, and that we be humble and teachable at all times, or we will look just like the world. The very next thing this passage says is that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If we do not have the fear of the Lord, we will never have true wisdom.
