  1. This makes me so thankful that my jujutsu teachers are Christians and don't bring in any of the Eastern religion junk, if you'll pardon my political incorrectness!
  2. Prov. 9:8-9 8 Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. 9 Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning. NIV-copyright How do you respond when you are rebuked? As the wise man, or as the fool? Do you love those that rebuke you? Or do you get angry or defensive? Do you allow it to teach you and grow you, or do you resent it? It is so important that we have the mind and heart of Christ, and that we be humble and teachable at all times, or we will look just like the world. The very next thing this passage says is that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If we do not have the fear of the Lord, we will never have true wisdom.
  3. My dear, it seems that you have a very critical attitude, and no matter what church you go to, that will stay with you. Conflict will never be resolved unless you are willing to humbly address it.
  4. Thanks, Neb! I keep a regular diary...maybe I should start a food diary!
  5. You might notice that you recently got over 500 posts. This now puts you in the Veteran Member group, just as it does me, until we get to 1000 posts, when it will change again. Does this answer your question?
  6. It appears they had more civil wars than they will own up to...Nebula, I don't get it either, but the one I brought up was the one I was familiar with, having read a book about it.
  7. I thought the civil war was during the time of Oliver Cromwell? Ah, yes-here's what I was thinking of.
  8. "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" by Elizabeth Clephane "Be Still, My Soul" by Katharina A. von Schlegel "Ps. 73-My God's Enough" by Barlow Girl
  9. I thank God for the freedoms we enjoy, and I pray I may do what is in my power to preserve them!
  10. This is my opinion as well!
  11. I'm so glad to see the way God has brought you through!
  12. We should also remember that the world would have been radically changed after the flood, so it's probably hard to say that anything was similar then to what it is now.
  13. I kind of agree with what the Catholic Church said in the article...why would the government extend rights to apes that they deny to the unborn?
  14. That is why I often pray that God will give me sincerity! The very last thing I want is for reading the word and going to God in prayer to become some ritual. He is alive, and I want my faith to be so as well! Thank you for that reminder! We need to guard against murmuring and complaining, because it is a denial of God, in essence. We are saying that we don't believe that He has given us what is best for us.
  15. It is truly a blessing and comfort to see that God has made us all to fit uniquely in our places in His church!
  16. That's so tragic-if only they knew the true love of God!
  17. Caleb-oh, very definitely Caleb! With a testimony like his, what's not to like? Oh that it might be said of all of us, that we 'followed the Lord fully'!
  18. That is a very humorous, but interesting observation. Thank you!
  19. As soon as you think about it, you lose. To win the game you have to forget it exists. So, I figured as long as I thought about it and lost, I might as well make you all lose too! Nice guy me!
  20. Haha, made you all lose again!!!
