Is it difficult for you too?

hi friends,

I will come straight to the point.

Is following God's way difficult for you too?

Sometimes I think of the good experiences in my past life, of the people i liked and loved. And I miss them badly. I am aware that I could go back to them, but staying in God's will is preventing me from doing so. And I feel sick. I still love God and want to trust in Him, but this feeling of missing them is also there.

Please share your thoughts.

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

I realize this is a narrow example, but as long as we put other gods before the one true God, our path will be difficult. Other gods include the television, shopping, the telephone, the computer, your hobbies to an exteme, cars, and even church when it is used solely for the wrong purposes(social activities, dating, etc.) None of these activities are sinful unless you cross the line where you replace God with them. Thats when the road gets difficult-and Satan will trip you up and be there to greet you every step of the way-Lord, lead us not into temptation. Shiloh62

Maybe I'm the oddball here, but no... I don't miss anything at all from the time I was without Jesus as my Savior. I'm happier than I've ever been.

I would have to answer both ways.

In general overall I am far far happier and more at peace having the comforts and promises and graces of our Lord than I was without these things.

However I find the path difficult. I still struggle with temptation on a daily basis; sometimes it seems like one step forward and two steps back. But the gift of repentance and forgiveness is so powerful that it sustains me through some of these trails.

Many parts of a sinful life are fun. Sure it would be fun at some level to cheat on my wife or to go drinking with my old buddies who I still like and have many good attributes and good points; but at the same time these things I know will bring me pain sorrow and also possibly death.

People look toward Christians to live Holy lives, make no mistake people are watching us and our behavior, do we get divorced? Do we get drunk? Do we make dirty jokes? Are we mean and unhappy? Are we charitable? Even if we don't want to strive to live a Godly life, we should do it just for the sake of the witness.

Now more than ever it is important to be different from the world.

I can honestly say no, I have no problem wanting to return to anything in my past life that represented the wrong path to follow. I am happy every day just knowing I am on a journey that will lead me to Jesus and life eternal. What an honor being able to live for Jesus.
