Y'all might not like this response ....

Ive been tempted to blog about this type of thing. I call it sound bite Christianity. Where His word is reduced to cutesy feel good sayings that catch the ear. In reality though, they do nothing to further His kingdom, nor do I think they really edify the body. Its on the same level as the "send God a knee mail" type slogans one can find outside of a church. Whatever happened to quoting the bible? To using His word to grow and live by?

I completely see your point of view - that is why I asked the question, "do they hit the mark?".

No, I do not think they do, for the reason that they are catchy little sound bites that lack a full truth.

There are two sides to this coin. :emot-cheering:

One can take these statements and view them as "cute but shallow" or one can dig deeper. When I examined myself using these statements - I thought, am I showing God's love to people and making the Kingdom "desirable" to others? I know that when the Holy Spirit was nudging me while I was a sinner - the Holy Spirit definitely "wooed" me into becoming a Follower of Christ. Is that how I am today to others? That is a question I asked myself when I heard these statements the other day on the Christian station. It gave me food for thought - which is a good thing. :emot-dance:

Two statements I heard on the local Christian radio station on Sunday...I thought they were

quite "catchy"...but do they hit the mark? Do we reflect these statements as individuals and as a Body? Is this how we should

feel/act as individuals and the Body? I have to say that when I heard it, I started to examine myself and if I could truly

apply these statements to MYSELF.

1. We Believers have the privilege of loving people into the Kingdom.

2. Christianity - the contagious movement of Love.

Do you agree with these statements?

Hmmm, Dunno. When people believe that you're going to go to hell for not accepting an effeminate, stylised looking mystic as your saviour - and burn for EVER, I can see why they wouldn't consider your movement loving.

And the privilege of loving people into the kingdom? Did it work for jesus? :emot-cheering: Nope. So how are we supposed to do it? The bible says that 'no man comes to the son unless the Father draws him' Jhn 6:44, and jesus said no one comes to the Father except through me'. Jhn 14:6

Jesus was perfect. God is love, so Jesus lived a perfect life of love. So why did he end up rejected and crucified, with even his disciples doubting he was the messiah after his death until he appeared to them? Why have so many christians been martyed over the centuries and still are being, if love is all that is needed?

So yeah, my view is - catchy, but not realistic. Only God can call people, we can just be ready to give an answer, to the best of our ability and live out the christian walk so that people see something different about us and get curious. That's why praying for peoples salvation is so important. Only God can save, by opening peoples eyes. Love alone, can't.

Ordained, sanctified and adopted into the family of God.

Fellow heirs. Seperate, Holy. a pecilar people.

Jesus calls us friends.

Blessed are our eyes, for they see. Blessed are our ears because they hear.

For unto you is given.

As a Royal Priesthood, seated with Christ on the right hand of God,

one should conduct oneself with the dignified aire of nobility befitting the office of our high calling.

Not sink down to the level of unsaved ignorant heathen.

Forgive they, for they no not what they do. And how could they? having their hearts darkened and eyes blinded.

It's a given that those who believe they evolved from animals, will behave like animals, so, we can't fault them or take offence when they act out the ignorance of their conditioning.

Understanding their fallen condition with pitty and compassion.

The unsaved and the ignorant simply don't know any better.

Do not render evil for evil, give no place to the devil. Abhor evil hating even the garment stained.

Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness.

Dignity. Grace, Poise. Royal Priests, Nobility.

Then what do you say about this?????

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."

Again judgment is called for here..

the only problem that christians have with any of what you've been saying is the problem of having a 'holier than thou' attitude that seems to really put people off.

i'm of the camp that says if people don't want to hear, do as Jesus said and 'shake the dust from your feet'. we do take the plank out of our eye before we worry about our neighbor's splinter. pointing out a brother or sister's error without condemning them is entirely possible but it's useless to point out the sins of a non-believer except in the context of witnessing to them.

i don' think anyone can get around the fact that uninhibited association with sinners is the same as condoning the sin. we see it in our judicial system. if you just drove the car in a bank robbery, you're still guilty. if you knew about a murder, even tho you didn't take part in it, you are an accessory if you don't go to the cops.

See to ME, the verse concerning the "plank in one's own eye" - is dealing with the VERY issue (with yourself) you are pointing out to someone else....

A lot of folks I know take the verse to mean - "Don't try pointing at others problems when you yourself have issues." That is too general and loose interpretation. . People end up not correcting at all...

I think it is more SPECIFIC than that. If you are telling someone to quit womanising but you yourself lust after every woman you see - deal with YOURSELF first before you can help them deal with their lustful problem. That is the only way you will be of any help to them.

That's my take on it!

Exactly! deal with yourself and then you will be able to deal with another. who better to help someone than one who has been there.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
