How big were the largest dinosaurs?

Their huge size had to have a purpose, all God's creatures have a purpose....but, for the life of me, I can't think what it might have been. I've always thought it pointed to a super plentiful food supply though.

If dinos lived longer than today's reptiles, and if their food supply was plentiful, maybe that's true.

Hitchey - I have an honest question - do evolutionists use the word "adapted or adaptation" much? Is it always the word evolution when referring to an animals adaptation to it's surroundings?

I hate to be the bug, but evidence has been mounting to reject the idea that dinos were reptiles. For example, the bone structure of warm-blooded animals is different from that of cold-blooded animals. Some dino fossils have shown to have warm-blooded animal bone structures. If you check the science section of any news source, they might still have up a finding that came out earlier this week that more dinos (at least among the smaller ones) had feathers or feather-like structures.

So there has to be another explanation for why the dinos in the Mesozoic era (the last era of dinosaurs) got so big.

I'm not really the one to ask, but I imagine all three words are used. I suppose it comes down to what is being discussed. Lighter skin is likely an adaptation to low UV levels, for example; or I might say northern populations of humans have evolved lighter skin. I think it really depends on context. It is not so much that there are any rules about which word is to be used. I don't know that I really answered your question.
