Hi,

I was just curious to what every ones opinion as to what you believe (not your church or denomination) that are essential that a Christian must believe.

Please list only the top five essentials and list them in-order of importance and try to stay on topic.

---------------------------------

I will go first:

1) That Jesus is the promised Messiah and Son of God and Lord.

2) That Jesus came and died for our sins and rose again and now lives forever.

3) Must believe there is only one true God.

4) Must believe that bible is God's written word and is true.

5) Must believe that Jesus will one day return to judge the living and the dead some unto eteranl life others unto eternal damnation.

God bless,

Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Well I could post the Creeds, but anybody interested can look up The Apostle's Creed, The Nicene Creed, and The Athanasian Creed on the internet.

That's a pretty darned good encapsulation of the Faith.

With a blessing,

Leonard, a sinner

There is no other essential to the Christian faith other than Christ crucified, and all that this one central matter entails.

I am not a great Believer in Creeds or formulae per se...but I have always believed in the core of my being that the crux of being saved through the blood of Yeshua/Jesus leads one to acknowledge the spirit behind Torah that our Saviour so clearly defined and encapsulated.

Mar 12:28  One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, "Which mitzvah is the greatest of all?"

Mar 12:29  Yeshua answered, "The greatest is, 'Hear, Yisra'el, the Lord our God, the Lord is one:

Mar 12:30  you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first mitzvah.

Mar 12:31  The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other mitzvah greater than these."

Greetings Jedi,

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

And in my studies, I have concluded it consists of 5 essential parts:

1) The Birth of Jesus Christ

2) The Life of Jesus Christ

3) The Death of Jesus Christ

4) The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

5) The 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ

If you know these things, and live by them, you will have eternal life.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

1. Father, Son, Holy Ghost (triune aspect of God)

2. Christ was sent to redeem sinners

3. Holy Spirit sent to comfort Christians

4. All have fallen short through Adam and Eve

5. Repentance through Christ is required for Salvation

Right off the top of my head...if I thought about it more and was allowed more than 5 I'm sure it would change a little...alas

Are those in order of importance.

If so many people do not understand the trinity. Do your really feel that understanding and believing in the Trinity doctrine is the number one essential for a believer.

?

Yes, I guess I do.

Christ is the mediator between people and God, and Christ is all that is important for our salvation. But I would not want to forget God the Father, whom even Christ calls Father and prayed in earnest to. And then the Holy Spirit is here all along, with power to transform lives, and to indwell Christians. I think it is essential to know that God is all three of these aspects, yet one. Christ said that if you have known Him then you know the Father, but the Father is spirit. If these aspects of God are important to Christ, and I believe from the Holy Scriptures that they are, then they are important to me.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
