who's putting her down? I'm just saying she's been a glorified sex worker which she has. There are plenty of nice prostitutes and strippers around as well. Does that justify what they do for a living?

Yeah... uh, YOU are putting her down by comparing her with prostitutes.

Wow the power of hypocrisy in large numbers.

Glad I took a while before I got back on here.

If I had posted a thread on here praising a very successful prostitute or stipper for making heaps of money and being a very nice person, it probably would have been deleted.

The duplicity of the west - (and suprise, suprise, how much of it is in the church.) Explains a lot about our inability to save the world.

As I already stated. If a stripper or prostitute turned up at your average church, they'd risk ostracism. But if someone who used sex to build their career as a celebrity did it, people would be fawning and dribbling all over them.

Using sex to sell a product that makes you money classifies you as a sex worker.

And I notice none of you are actually answering my points (because you can't) merely condeming me for bringing them up.

Again. Can't say I'm really suprised.

My comment was on western duplicity and hypocrisy in this area and you guys have just perfectly illustrated my point.

I feel sorry for both celebrities and strippers here. If christians can't maintain christian standards in response to them, then it's understandable why so few become or survive as christians.

I agree, Redwing. What a terrible thing to say about someone who is kind and has never done any of the things that Yesult accuses her of. Shame on him.

thanks for sticking up for dolly guys --i for one wont ever think badly of her because she doesnt deserve the degrading comments being thrown her way on here!! not to mention that her song"coat of many colors" really helped me growing up dirt poor in kentucky and helped me to ignore all of the "white trash" remarks.

I guess we ought not judge others by their looks and deeds, the inner self ...the heart matters a lot. Remember the thief who was crucified along side Jesus? We would have condemned him to hell.... but see the fellow is in the right place with Jesus in heaven. We are not better than others.. Give Dolly a break.

Thank you for actually responding to me. To answer - if a woman is putting her assets on display to up her saleablity (and to say that dolly doesn't do this is ridiculous and completly the denying the obvious) is using sex to make money. That makes you a sex worker.

Actually I have seen celebrities fawned over simply because they were celebrites, regardless of their actual christian walk. U2 and bono are a perfect example.

I have also seen women with 'questionable' pasts ostracised.

As for implants. I think linking is disallowed on here. But here are a couple of posts that you can copy and paste if the link is removed.

and

she could have done a great many things to make money off of her figure, but she didn't.

And since you don't know much about her - how do you know what she has or hasn't done?

Some more links - and hoping the moderators won't see the need to delete them as being inappropriate.

did it help her career? probably.

Of course it did. Sex sells. And record companys know that as well as performers.

but she didn't sell her body like a prostitute does and what you're equating her with doing.

Putting your body on display to make money is selling your body. That's what porn stars and strippers do. Prostitutes go one step further. But it's all selling sex for financial gain, because sex sells.

Thank you charitow for at least trying to answer my points. I appreciate that someone actually took the time instead of completly ignoring them and writing me off. And as for putting all christians in the one boat - I wasn't, just saying here is a perfect example of why there are so few ex-strippers or sex workers and celebrities in the church.

If the church en masse (which is why I used the word 'average' church) can't behave in a christian manner to both ends of the spectrum because of bias, it's understandable.

And you can say that most christians arn't like that. Well hopefully. But why in a four page thread - is there only one poster (me) drawing attention to the issue under the attack of the rest?

I think that in itself gives a pretty good example of averages in this area.

PS. Here's another one -

:) I've never said she was all good or all bad either. I was just drawing attention to the hypocrisy of glossing over someones sin because they're famous. Thank you for responding!

Although I disagree that anyone who uses sex to make money is not using sex to make money.

God bless

I've recently looked at Dolly Parton's Biography on A&E last Sunday and I must say she's a very sweet lady. Looking down on her just because of what she does to her body and so forth does not mean a thing. What matters is her relationship with God. That's my opinion. :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
