Also, I never expected any mainstream company to reflect Christian values.

I know that comics will always be full of overly sexy images or they will use magic powers, but what really got me mad is the fact that they are shwoing their main flag-ship hero willing to make deals with a satan-type character.

(Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange and Punisher is part of the Marvel-Knights line which is SUPPOSED to be not sold to children)

I do agree about the comic book though... I was always very cautious of what my kids were reading and what they collected and what video games they played, etc. When they got older and were able to question things and were able to discern between things that were not "right" - we discussed why they weren't allowed access to certain things at a young age. I am so very blessed... God gave me (a 'Twinkie') very smart children who sensed early on what was not appropriate. They are adults now and one is a parent. She is very conscious of what things she doesn't want her child to have part of... and she is instilling some good habits in the little one... We are blessed. :noidea:

Truly you are sister. I too censored things for my children. And now they do the same. Just wish I could censor :noidea: what the school is teaching my granddaughter. :emot-highfive:

Blessings.

You can...get them out of the Magogite school and into one which teaches Christian values. Get your church to start a school or find one in your area, or even home school. Government schools are turning out little bastards (in the Hebrews 12:8 sense)

I think that lumping all public schools into this category is not fair. I live in a community whose public schools are excellent and the curriculum is very good. I think what children learn at home is more important than most of what they learn in school. I think parents need to be involved in what is being taught in school and should be discussing it with their children. Also important is to know your child's friends and their families - find out who they are and what their values are. Home schooling, while an excellent format, if it's taught correctly and is consistent, is simply not an option for many people.

While we are on the boycotting roll, I wanted to mention that a boycott started against Marvel comics.

The reason is that recently Spider-man was planned to be seperated from his wife Mary-Jane. The editors decided that divorce would be too anti-family so instead they opted to have Spider-man make a deal with Mephisito (the marvel equivalent of Satan) to rework history to save his aunt but give up his wife.

So in the end, divorce bad for kids, but selling souls to the devil, A-ok!

Yeah.

Plus the women in skin tight outfits with curvacious bodies and magical powers along with their lycra covered male counterpoints.

All healthy (not) childhood reading. Barbie dolls, comics and magazines. Before we even get to televion and the music industry.

No wonder our culture is so sex driven.

Marvel is just another symptom of our societal ills. I am often amazws and dismayed by the amount of sex/violence in our culture. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that sex/violence has saturated almost every aspect of modern culture.

Blessings Bold Believer.

My daughter and her husband both work so home school is out. They did go to a private Christian school but tuition got to high. So now she is in a public school. Not all public schools are bad. I was just pretty upset they taught them to celebrate KWANZA but were'nt allowed to celebrate a Christian Christmas in school. Their Christmas program didn't have one single song in it about Christ at all. So why was it called a CHRISTMAS program. The songs they sang were only Holiday Jazz. That is just one of several things that stuck in my craw. But I am in support of public schools as long all is fair. Blessings.

It is definately not an option here. And I agree with you completely. It starts at home. But my grandaughter was some confused so we explained things to her. I just wish the school would have sent the curriculum home for the program they did. They did send the KWANZA thing home though.

hmm... our schools didn't send a Kwaanza (sp) thing home... but they didn't send anything but the vacation schedule home. My granddaughter learned about Passover, Easter, etc. She's tiny so probably didn't really grasp anything except the super neat egg hunt.... And she did enjoy church my daughter told me.... liked the flowers... and she "sings"..LOL

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
