My friend Jamie is what many people would refer to as a 'player'. He likes to pick up women and sleep with them, then never call them back or anything. Anyway, he told me hes been seeing this girl over the internet who lives quite close to where we live and hes goin to meet up with her soon. We were talkin to her today on the internet and on the phone. my friend was lying over and over to try and get this girl to sleep with him. Anyway earlier she sent me a message on this social networking site called netlog and told me she thinks that my friend is messing her about and i told her the truth. Was this the right thing to do, i feel bad for betraying my friend.

By doing this have i shown that i do not love my friend and thus i have not been made perfect in love?

I felt compelled to tell the truth because even though he is my friend i cant stand that he is deceiving someone for his own gain.

Any advice appreciated thanks.

Edit: just got a message from my friends girlfriend, my friend has told her that im lying.

Prov. 27:5 -

An open rebuke is better than love carefully concealed.

Warning the girl of what she is in danger of is an act of love towards her.

Allowing your friend to get away with sin is not an act of love.

Hope that makes sense.

I'm glad you told her truth. Now the ball is in her court as to whether to believe you or Jamie. It sounds as if she already had red flags going up in that she contacted you on netlog. She SHOULD have already figured it out on her own if he's already trying to convince her to sleep with him and they've never even met!!! Duh!

Mighty, it sounds like Jamie and this young lady are huge mission fields. They both need the Lord. Blessings.

They've broken up, she believed me in the end. I'm goin down to jamies house tommorow to get the crap kicked out of me, he told me that he still wants to be my friend but i've got to pay for what i've done. I've already forgiven him for what hes going to do tommorow so no worries there.

Jamie believes that aliens created this world, that we once lived on mars destroyed the atmosphere and we moved to this planet, that the earth has always been here, he believes in evolution and the big bang theory. everytime i talk to him about it we'll break into some sort of debate, even if i win the debate he never accepts that God exists. He does believe in the devil though, he thinks that hell is like one big party with alcohol and cannabis and loud rock music, i've told him that hes wrong but he doesn't believe me.

Your "friend" is a liar - why should you lie to cover up for him? Also, when he involves you in this behavior - he's really not much of a friend. From what you describe, he's not a very moral person and I'm just guessing - not a Christian. You cannot love things that are wrong and against God. And by the way - he apparently hung you out to dry by telling another lie about you....

You can care about your friend and pray for him - but really - he's not much of a friend to do what he does to you. The lying, the threatening to "do you in", etc. You deserve better friends -ok?

I'm not an expert on scripture, nor am i a smart person, nor a popular person, i dont know alot about anything really but one thing i do know is that our God is a god of love and that love is the most imporant thing here. Jamie is my friend, he can take everything from me, even my life and still i will love him for God is love and jamie is one of his creations. All that is important to me is that i follow Jesus in everything i do, i will love my neighbour and my persecutors, i will pray for them, even help them if they ask it of me. I dont care what happens to my body, just as long as while in my body, i did everything i could to serve the Lord.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
